I went to MANY Black Swan Yoga sessions. In Austin, especially with this location. I felt the instructors were super informative and helpful. They also give out super cute unicorn cards not only function as consent cards, but also food for thought. I am definitely making this tradition every time I'm in Austin.

Took a happy hour chill class with Sean and it was amazing. Perfect way to relax after a long week. When I first arrived, the line was out the door but it moved pretty quickly. This studio has space for two classes to take place at the same time and the chill class was in the mirrorless room which was nice. We used different props like tennis balls and yoga bands to improve blood flow, tissue recovery, range of motion, and decrease overall stress on the body. Definitely a class for all level types and you will leave feeling beyond relaxed!

I wonder what took me so long to come here. This was my first time at any Black Swan location. I think they have one closer to me but I saw an IG post of Inga being shared on another page I follow and came to a class. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and so there was plenty of room to spread out. I brought my own mat, water bottle, and towel. Stashed my stuff in a cubby and picked up two cork blocks provided by the facility. It was heated which is my jam but not crazy degrees just nice enough to deepen your stretches, break a sweat and warm up from the 50 degrees outside. I don't perspire easily so I like that it gives me a little help to detox and distress. I went for the music. Inga does these great music artist themes that are genre's that I enjoy and while she lives in Houston I'll make sure to come back for the many classes that I'd be interested in. I live south so not going to lie it took me 30 minutes without any traffic to get there so for every now and then but I'm definitely going to try some of the other instructors to come more often to a location closer to me. I also don't know where additional parking is at Anderson in the event the lot is full. I'm sure other reviews can help with that.

Great studio besides lack of parking. Chauntelle is my favorite instructor she always goes above and beyond to make your experience good.

His insights for me have always been no BS, spot on and extremely useful. The practice is generally good for health, for emotions and for longevity... it seems to have some anti-aging qualities for me, I feel younger more vital stronger and have a different outlook on my life going deeper into my 40s. There are also excellent Q&A conversations at the beginning that give context and can shift perspective. I have been continuing to make great progress through this method. I'm excited to stay with this for the long haul. This is a very solid qigong lineage with always deeper levels of capability to grow into and significant and measurable quality-of-life improvements to look forward to. I highly recommend it!

Not only do you get exposure to some of the greatest yoga teachers (as I learned) but you get a chance to understand the benefits of meditation as well as being in tune with your body. I had the pleasure of knowing the people behind Texas Yoga Retreat and doing some media work on their behalf. That said, this review is the truth as I know it. The wiz behind the curtain matters when it comes to most ventures and this is a positive thing for the Texas Yoga Retreat. The people behind the retreat are in touch with their mission as well as esteemed by their community for the work they do. (I sound like I'm writing for them right now but my impression of them is that high). I highly recommend this retreat to everyone - men and women, yoga folks or not. As someone who does yoga on a whim, I was a little nervous about attending a retreat since I hadn't experienced any formal training. I was pleased to find out that the experience was more than comfortable. The retreat draws people from all over the world - with varied levels of experience in yoga. As I mentioned, even novices can attend this retreat but the same is true of expert yoga enthusiasts and instructors. In fact, I met a lot of instructors during the retreat I attended. It probably helps that the coordinators of this retreat are the owners of Texas Yoga, which is a renowned yoga certification program, so they do a good job of providing instructors and topics that benefit people at different levels of expertise. Don't expect to just be on a yoga mat the whole time - or even most of the time. While there, you get options of which classes you wish to attend so you have a lot of say over the experience. Some classes focus on technique while others provide overall understanding. I was able to finally take a class on Ayurveda which was something I was very interested in learning about. I also had some amazing yoga classes. The food is good but definitely healthy - which is a nice compliment to the experience. There's a wonderful table behind the eatery that faces out to a field. I highly recommend you have your meal out there. It's a great place to zone out if you want to process the experience or bring your new yoga friends and just enjoy the scenery. Speaking of scenery, Barsana Dham is Austin's first Hindu temple but this event is not affiliated with a religion. It's a very beautiful setting for the retreat. In addition to enjoying the classes, people and healthy food, you can tour the grounds which are just gorgeous. It's highly recommended you stay on campus for the full experience, including get togethers at night. I opted to drive in each day so I can't speak to staying there but I hear it's a good experience that allowed people to connect with other retreat goers. To sum it up for you: this retreat was so amazing it made me think about getting certified one day. We'll see what happens with that but one thing is for sure - Texas Yoga Retreat is an A+ experience.

They are accessible and eat their lunches with the rest of us. We really are one. If you're a teacher and interested in continuing education, this high caliber trainings offered here will not disappoint. From Ayurveda to yoga therapy, there are highly skilled professionals that can enhance your existing knowledge. The website at www.texasyogaretreat.com lists the classes and instructors in detail. Not a teacher? Not skinny and flexible? There were all kinds of people at the retreat. If you want to attend, then it's for you. I didn't know what it would be like to study on the grounds of an ashram, but it was like being at a really peaceful hotel where everyone dresses very moderately. The devotees who live on the property are very kind and smile when they see you. The food that they prepare for our meals is amazingly good!! Thank you to the staff who pulled this retreat together, from the devotees to Charles and Ellen. You make a difference in a profound way to many people, including me.

I have been going for a little over a month now, and I am very impressed. It was pretty difficult to find a place that was close to me (Cedar Park) that instructed Tai Chi, I called about 4 different places (all further than 10 miles away from me, mostly in Round Rock and Pflugerville) before I found North Austin Tai Chi. Not only is Kade a fantastic instructor, this is one of the least expensive of places I found. it costs about $10 a lesson depending on which plan you want to work with, which is about $2 less expensive than the best packages at some other places .... at first I was a little sceptical but it turns out it is because he doesn't have the overhead of owning a place (he rents/leases part of the Senior Center on Duval) If anyone is interested in Tai Chi, without hesitation I would recommend Kade, and North Austin Tai Chi .... he has an exceptional style of instruction.

There is an eyelet on the top left side of the mat, and that is where you lay the mat down in the room. I asked if the spots were reserved ahead of time because they do that at other studios, but there is not need to reserve a numbered spot - it just helps with mat placement and ensuring that people have enough room to move uniformly. I love that! I hate a crowded hot yoga room. The studio is surprisingly cleaner than most hot studios. There is a hydration station to refill your water bottle, which is nice because you aren't forced to purchase water. The restroom is really clean. I haven't seen gym showers that clean even at Equinox in California which I thought that the 3 SF Bay Area locations had nice enough showers. You are limited to a 3 minute shower here at Pure, but that's fine for a quick rinse and it's great when you have to share and are waiting for another person to finish, but they are taking forever to finish. The class itself was a nice succinct Bikram yoga class with the same 26 postures in 60 minutes instead of 90. Beth was a wonderful instructor who gave me a little trinket after my first class.
