Took the black taxi political mural tour and it was a great experience. My guide Joe picked me up at my hotel and he took me on a tour of some of the city's political art. We spent some time looking at the Protestant/Ulster Defense murals off in a neighborhood off Shankill Road. Next we went to one of the main peace walls in the city, I believe on Falls Road which was the republic side. I got to walk down the road and spend some time digesting everything, The whole time Joe provided a very honest, fair account of the conflict and some of the lingering issues today. Joe was really friendly and took time to answer any questions I had. He even recommended the Crumlin Road Gaol tour and dropped me off there after we were done (which was another great tour and great recommendation). I highly recommend these guys - this is a must for anyone visiting Belfast. read more
