Our kids (ages 3 and 5) had an absolute blast. They loved riding their bikes around the property, swimming in the pool, playing mini golf, feeding the goats, fishing in the private pond, and riding the train. There were so many activities that we never ran out of things to do. If you're a parent looking for a family-friendly campground, this is a great choice. The campground does receive some comments about being close to the freeway, but honestly, it didn't bother us much at all. We barely noticed it because we were having so much fun enjoying everything the property has to offer. I also really appreciated the text reminders about the activities and events happening throughout our stay. It made it easy to plan our day and ensured we didn't miss out on anything. We made some wonderful family memories here and will definitely be back for another visit!

Fishing pond, mini golf, a goat that you can pet. A train that you can take a ride on around the camp ground. Everything is free except for the fishing and arcade. If you decide to stay here spot #60. It has a deck w/chairs and seating. Pretty cool spot. They have a swimming pool and hot tub too. Overall my experience was great. The only thing I would recommend is maybe grass around the pool area. The weeds at the pool area were kind of a bummer. They do have a few cabin and they are next to the freeway but ask for a site not so close to the freeway you can hear it So if your looking for a camp spot that is not to far go check them out.

Although the sites are a little close together, and the highway noise is noticeable during the day, we thought this was a beautiful setting full of tall trees and situated near a pleasant little creek. We found every member of the staff very helpful and friendly. Just a few minutes away there are cafes and a nice market. Tahoe Keys Marina is about 15 minutes away. There is a little swimming pool where our grandkids enjoyed swimming. We enjoyed campfires and making s'mores. Some of our visitors stayed in the Chalet cabin, which was cute and very clean. We would definitely stay here again.

We are in our 30s-40s trying to have a fun camping time with our kids and our elderly parents. We are not party animals by any means. Admittedly, we may have gotten a little carried away with laughter on our first night. However, we were respectful and compliant with campground rules moving forward. The next morning, we were surprised when a staff member approached us and began with, "Everybody speak and understand English?" This was incredibly offensive and came across as racially insensitive. Still, we gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed they were just trying to ensure clear communication. The staff member then reminded us of the one-vehicle-per-site policy. Though we had multiple campsites booked, we immediately complied and moved extra vehicles to the designated overflow area. Later that evening, another staff member approached our group to remind us of the 10 PM quiet time. We were well aware of the rule and even reminded each other around 9:45 PM to keep our voices down and prepare to wind down. We are a group of professionals -- registered nurses, an attorney, a clinical lab scientist, an architect, an occupational therapist, and an engineer. We fully understand English and have every intention to follow campground guidelines. At 10:12 PM, the same staff member returned, flashing a flashlight into our campsites and loudly calling out, "Campsites # 1, 2, 3 -- it's quiet time! No music! No loud noises! No car alarms!" We politely acknowledged the reminder, reiterated our understanding, and clarified that the car alarm was not from our group. We admitted to the previous night's noise but assured him we were keeping things quiet this time. Despite this, he continued yelling, saying, "I'm not here to argue. I'm just reminding you. If you don't want to comply, I'll call the sheriff and get you all out of my campground." One of our friends calmly and respectfully tried to explain that while we fully acknowledged and respected the rules, we did not appreciate being spoken to in such a disrespectful and public manner -- especially since we were not being disruptive at that time. We even asked him if we were being too loud right now, and he said No. Ironically, he was preaching quiet time while he himself is yelling across the campground. This entire situation could have been handled far more professionally and respectfully. We've always had good experiences with KOA in the past, but this left a lasting negative impression. Sadly, this will likely be our last time staying at this location -- or possibly with KOA altogether. I don't typically write negative reviews, but this experience warranted one

We stayed in a cabin as part of our CRA membership and had a tent for extended family. The cabin we stayed in was older, but it was still a wonderful time. Our kids made a movie with the ghost town scenery in the background. It was one of the best family trips we've taken. It's an hour from Lake Tahoe. We paddle boarded on the lake one day and explored. On another day, we drive to Emerald Bay and hiked. We ended our trip with water rafting with MotherLode river center. In response to some of the criticisms: Perhaps the staff listened and adjusted, because we found them to be friendly and helpful. No creepiness observed. If you have unrealistic expectations about camping, the dirt on the paths will annoy you...camping may not be for you if this is the case. Despite this, the pool, bathrooms, and cabins were super clean. Staying in a cabin here, still qualifies as "glamping." Wifi didn't work well for us, but AT&T has decent service up there. There are more activities from Thurs to Sunday morning. Bring mosquito repellent. There is a Costco and grocery store not too far away if you are planning an extended stay. We definitely plan to return!

Although they do have a small ghost town, ice shop and food you can enjoy. They also have horses you can ride, I believe some sort of kids club and a pool. The bathrooms looked like they needed a little updating. In my opinion the property needed to have a little up dated. They also have a few cabins, tent camping and RV camping. The Ghost Ranch also does a presentation to buy into their "" timeshare. We however did not p purchase it. The staff is amazing as we pulled up April was happy to help us with what ever we needed. Brain did an amazing job talk to us about the presentation for the time share but it was just not for us. If you have kids this maybe a place to check out. It just wasn't a place for us.
