They leveled my house a few months ago, and the I-beam under one side of my trailer was left pushing against the hot water pipe that ran from my hot water heater to my sink. I now have black mold growing and have had to have someone replace the floor, walls, sheetrock, insulation , trim etc ...in my laundry room, water heater storage room and part of my kitchen. Initially, we were very satisfied with the new roof and gutters installed by Goodie and Sons in January 2024.The crew working on the roof went over and above to make sure the work was done right, despite having a big windstorm blow off the materials and secured tarp off the roof. They drive hours in the rain to come back and re-secure everything. Six months later, one of the seals in the gutter started to deteriorate and began to leak. I have contacted them NUMEROUS times, and all I get is voicemail. No one has returned my calls. What would have been a 5-star review now gets downgraded. read more

Received flyer in the mail about re-leveling my mobile home for $149. Made appointment and rep showed up when scheduled. He wrote up an estimate that was over $1500. When I showed him the flyer he just laughed. I knew the $149 price was too low, but it was obviously a bait and switch scam. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and made a complaint. Included the flyer and the written estimate. Less than one year later a neighbor said she called Goode & Sons to come do the job. I told her my experience and she said she had contacted the BBB and G & S had a perfect record. So what happened to my complaint? Did someone pay off the BBB? What a scam. SUPER UNETHICAL!!!! I could give this person a minus 10 or even a minus 100 I would he testified in court he would do a job for less than 1/2 than anyone else. My attorney said to him so you will do this job for this price you are swearing to it in court? He said yes, when I called him to come do the job he told me he was too busy and couldn't get to it for some years. My award was based on his lies. 4 years later it still isn't done because i can't find anyone that will do the job he lied about in court. If I could find an attorney who would take this case for free and then get paid at the end I absolutely would because it will never get done now and my house leaks nothing I can do about it on low income. I didn't have any work done, but I did fall for his sincerity. His price was great for what he proposed but after doing my due diligence, I found multiple violations at the State of California Contractors State Licensing Board plus pending violations. His website lists an A rating AND an Accredited Business which are serious violations for what it actually is. an F rating. I would suggest anyone who has been wronged by Jerry Goodie and Sons, which btw, is just him and Lap Fung Lee. His son maybe? Go get an attorney, file a report at www.ripoffreport.com. as well as cslb.ca.gov, and bbb.org. He literally told me 2 days ago that he hasn't had a roof leak in over a year. The owner is not an honest or reliable person. He is very likable and a good salesman but his services fall far short of one'e expectations. I contacted him and he gave me a quote. I was not quite sure about him though because he was hyping himself and promising so much, my intuition told me I should get a second quote. I contacted another manufactured home company and the guy I talked to used to work for Goodie & Sons and he warned me, so I wanted to have him come out and give me a quote. On the appointed day of me expecting him to come, Goodie & Sons showed up suddenly at my house to put the roof on. I had had no confirmation of getting a roof put on my house and was surprised at this but decided to take the risk and have them put on a new roof because I wanted to make sure I got it done before Winter or bad Fall weather. BAD MISTAKE! The workers were diligent but after they left, I had electrical problems connected to the fact that they had to remove my swamp cooler and then did not connect the wiring correctly. The end result was I had to hire an electrician to fix the problem which cost a bundle. I had told the owner about the problem and he appeared to understand but then was impossible to reach about getting getting him to pay electrical repair bill since his workers were responsible. He refused to call me back and then evaded me. I had to find his work place in Sacramento and track him down and then tape a note to his door.....and threatened Small Claims Court and even then, it took him several more weeks to pay me. I would look to another company to do the work if you want someone whom you can trust. It took him a couple months to get me a receipt of any kind.....he did not response to any phone calls, messages on his answering machine nor my texts. SO BEWARE!! read more

Update to my review of 12/2017... I contracted with this company for all new pads changed out and releveling as well as a new gutter. .. But now in 2021, A corner of my place started to buckle and I had a different contractor come out and look - who informed me that the pads he was looking at were original pads and disintegrating. Huh? I distinctly remember talking with the initial Goodie salesman about how they would be using plastic pads which would never break down. And even if wood was substituted a pad does not break crumble apart in three years. read more

We called Goodie in after a couple estimates. We received his information from our community newspaper. When the owner Gerry Goodie came and gave his estate, having been in the business, I felt it reasonable. It included replacing deck steps with railings & bedroom deck railings, a chairlift and master bathroom remodel. Master bath was to move a cabinet, remove the bathtub, replace a larger shower and new floor and counter tops. The steps were well done, as well as the chairlift. The railings used were the cheapest you could buy. They move when in use, even on the shortest of railings. The bedroom deck railings are more wiggly than the rotten wood one they replace! Our bathroom is where they really messed up! The shower is not to code. They used particle board instead of green or cement board Behind the quarts panels. The shower head, no plumber tape was used and first time we used the shower it flooded between the walls, and seeped through at the floor. The nozzle only turns to barely warm. It is locked where we cannot access the hot water. A pony wall was installed for me and the wall quarts was a half inch shorter than the top, which would cause water damage Between the wall, behind the quarts. The top was capped with wood instead of the quarts, or tile. it slanted towards the floor not shower. Both not water usable for a shower! More mold and water damage Will happen. The pony wall was also crooked. It cost me additional $800 to have the pony wall fixed to accommodate the glass enclosure. Our bath vanity was replaced, installed unleveled. Which cost me additional labor when I found someone to install the countertop. The plumbing was cut wrong costing me an additional $400 to fix the air vents. After I signed the agreement and gave a deposit, I was then told he did not do the shower door enclosure, he would get the quarts counter top but it would cost an additional $1,800. It wasn't until the vanity was installed he informed me he didn't do the plumbing! Which cost us an additional $1,200 for two faucets and repairs to the damaged air vents. His crew installed two new fans, neither were vented to the exterior but left to vent into the attic! The walls were replaced with cheap very thin paneling, not drywall as all my other walls! So thin the shower head pipe wiggles then we try to adjust the shower head! Then he told me he wasn't going to do the quarts counter tops but credited me $1,500, $300 less than he charged me! Gerry showed up the day the crew finished. I was not given time to check anything out. He wanted full final payment that moment even though the contract said I had 30 days to pay! They did come back to fix a couple of problems with the vanity and cabinet moved. They used paint caulking instead of plumbers caulking which washed off immediately when I went to clean the shower for usage. Gerry spoke highly of his crew and their experiences. They were polite, and cleaned up after themselves. But the two in the bathroom had no knowledge of the codes and proper way the instal the shower. When I spoke to them about it they said it is how they were told to do it. Even the trims were done wrong. I Called Gerry Goode last week, he told me he would return my call that evening. To date Gerry Goodie has not returned my phone call to fix the shower handle and reimburse me for the extra cost his crew caused due to lack of knowledge! We do not recommend this company to anyone! I am filling a complaint with the contractors board. As a disabled senior, I feel I was taken advantage of! read more

If I could give a negative review, I would. Let's just say that my entire project from new steps, to windows to a new screenroom and new sunroom was all done incorrectly. The windows leak, the sunroom leaks, everything had to be redone by another contractor. He took a 50% deposit which is illegal according to contractor license board, and promised the job would be done in a week. 2 months later it still wasnt gone and didnt pass inspection. I am now in arbitration with this company. Do yourself a favor and RUN from this poor excuse of a company. His license should be revoked. My husband and I contracted with Goodie & Son's for a new roof. Jerry quoted us a start time of approximately 3 to 4 weeks, as a permit was needed to be pulled, and with the hope that all supplies were available. To our surprise, they were able to get started on the job, 2 weeks later. The crew who did our roof, were very polite and hard working. Kevin always kept us informed when needed and answered any questions we may of had. They started the job on a Tuesday and it was completed by Thursday. I bought a mobile home in February for my father and we were concerned about a part of the flooring. The sellers had Jerry from Goodie and Sons to come out and look at the mobile home. He assured us that the home was safe and even in excellent condition. He said he could lift up the part of the flooring and gave us an estimate of $1420. We held off on doing it because it wasn't a concern according to Jerry. Six months later when we called Jerry to ask him to do it he says he doesn't want to do it because he claimed that he didn't feel comfortable if we were going to sell the home to someone else. Goodie and Sons just replaced an old roof that had partially blown off in one of the storms with a new one and we couldn't be happier. The owner came out on short notice and gave us a clear estimate that covered the whole job including demolition and cleanup. He is indeed very likeable and knows the business very well. We also got a phone estimate from another company for about the same amount. Once we got a settlement from the insurance company we called Goodie and the other company to see how long it would take to get on the schedule. The other company told us a month; Goodie came out in less than a week and finished in a day and a half. Since there is considerable water damage inside, the quick turnaround was a godsend. One of the owner's foreman, Levi, was especially polite and professional. We even discussed the many negative Yelp reviews and he admitted there were some issues in the past. The only loose end at this point is the inspection which is the county's responsibility. If this company was as awful as the negative reviews portray we sure didn't see it. read more

If I could give no stars I would! It was one lie after another. Don't know how the place is in business. Was told our roof project could be done in 2-3weeks. We are now 5 weeks out and have had one excuse/lie after another! If you want to work with a company who is just out for your money, strings you along and doesn't care when the project gets done then they are the company for you. John & David showed up promptly at 8am, both were very professional,introduced themselves, David immediately started working while John patiently answered my many micro-detailed questions about the projects. They completed both projects in 2 days, cleaning as they went along minimizing dust and mess - I was very impressed & appreciative of their work ethic. The final result is stunning!! This review is on behalf of my mother-in-law: She sold her mobile but prior to selling, she had her windows done for her home in Petaluma in 2010. With the assumption that they would last a very long time, she thought the windows would be fine. It's now 2017, and the windows are leaking. The present-owner contacted Goodie and Sons because they had contracted the work. Goodie and Sons said that the present-owner was not the owner that had the work done, so the warrantee is null-and-void. Fine. We get it that that can be regarded standard business. What we think is NOT standard business is to not offer the present-owner a solution, nor offer to even look at the windows because it was YOUR company that did the work. If it was one window that was leaking, okay, it was just a bad window. But to have your ENTIRE house leaking because a job that YOUR company did??? Poor business ethics if you ask us. With talking to other people, I find out that my mother-in-law is not the only person that had shotty work done to her mobile home. read more

Had my doubts after reading some reviews. I decided to talk to Jerry the owner. He was very pleasant and assured me my needs would be met. I needed a new patio " cap" because the other contractor did not pull a permit for me and the Job was sub standard. Mr Goodie took care of things for me . The crew was on time and got the job done.. a new roof and gutters on my mobilhome and the new deluxe patio cap. They cleaned up their mess and had great attitudes.. Mr Goodie was great about returning my phone calls. When your decent to others you usually have a good response. Everyone has good and bad reviews. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat! This company is a sham!! My brother signed a contract to have a wheelchair lift installed on his mobile home. We were quoted a total cost of $6915.00 to have the lift installed and the handrail secured. I gave them a check on 07/16/18 for 50% of the cost ($3457.50), which they promptly cashed the next day. They were scheduled to come out and complete the job on Aug. 1st.., they did not show NOR did they call. My brother called on Aug. 2nd, left a v/m message. Got a call back the next day, Aug. 3rd, at which time he was told that they had 'forgot' to order the lift and it would be another 2 weeks before it would arrive. He was assured that they would be there on the 17th to do the job. So here comes the 17th and AGAIN, no show and no call. This continued on until finally, on Aug. 28th, my brother was fed up with having to deal with this kind of incompetence and called the contractor to cancel the job and get his money refunded. They stated that the equipment was being delivered to his house on Aug. 31st and they couldn't change the delivery address. My brother was asked to contact them when the lift was delivered and they would come pick it up. He did as they requested and they picked up the lift on Sept. 1st -- but they failed to bring him a refund check. In fact we did not hear from them and all v/m messages, as well as emails, were ignored!! So after 2 months of no responses, my brother and I showed up at their office and found the front door locked, even though it was during normal business hours. I knocked repeatedly on the door and windows .., no response. I even called from my car -- you guessed it.., voicemail again!! I finally sent them an email threatening to file complaints with BBB, State Contractors Licensing Board and Consumer Affairs. Lo and behold.., a company check in the amount of $3457.50 was delivered to my brother's mobile home the next day!! Happy ending, right?? Hell no! We took the check to the issuing bank on Nov. 12th and was told "they could not honor the check at that time". Took the check back to River City Bank on Nov. 16th, the 21st and finally on Nov. 30th.., still they refused to honor this check. Out of frustration I had them provide me with a letter stating this fact. So this company knowingly wrote my brother a "rubber" check for $3457.50 and is still refusing to answer our calls or emails!! So I'm moving forward with filing these claims as well as one with the D.A.'s office handling elder abuse claims. My brother is a double amputee, as well as a disabled veteran, who lives on $859 a month. This money constituted almost all of his life savings, so I damn well plan on recouping this money for him. And the ONLY reason I gave you a star was because I couldn't post this without rating you !!! So Terry Goodie.., let the games begin!!!!! read more

This is a TERRIBLE company. Look up their contractor's license and you will find shady dealings already. They did substandard work on the underside of my mobile home foundation supports, taking way to much time, not being responsive to attempts to contact, etc. They damaged my main framing members by using jacks directly against my metal members, without spreading the force with wood blocks, so the creased and dented the metal members. They did ridiculous shoddy work with concrete pours to "strengthen" some footings. Do NOT use this company for ANY responsible construction work. read more

I have spent approximately $22k with them over a very short period of time for a new roof and residing the front of my house. Some of the siding is damaged and while I delayed in contacting them because of health issues I finally started contacting them in February 21. I left at least five phone messages with no response over a couple of weeks. I kept leaving angrier messages and finally received a call back from their project manager. To my dismay he arrived at my house on a hover board? ?? I showed him the siding that needed to be replaced and he said no problem. I also showed him a copy of the initial invoice that I paid. Well two months later I had not heard so I started calling again and no response. Well finally received a call from the owner and he said he would look into it and get back to me. I gave him several weeks, again no response so I started calling again. Someone actually answered the phone and it was the owner and he asked if I could send him a copy of the invoice which i took a picture of and send via cell phone. Well again no word so I now texted him for a status update and he told me they (whoever they are) had to discuss at the following Monday meeting. Monday came and went, no response so I texted again for an update and was told someone would be calling me, I believe at the first of the following week. Well I wasn't home when this person called, I guess to schedule the work, but he didn't leave me a phone number to reach him. I waited a day sent a text to G&S asking for the number and was told the man would be calling. Waited another day at home for the phone call and by 4:30ish I sent a very angry text telling them what I thought of their business!! I would recommend anyone find any other vendor than G&S. They don't stand behind their work and are very unprofessional. Review should have been less that one star, like maybe minus 10 stars! read more

Like like the other Reviews, I had a job that was to take 3-4 days and its now been over a month and work still not completed and what work that was done was just not correctly. If you want the work done in a timely and professional manner, this Company is NOT one to use. Some days they came for one 1 hr. and left and never came back. This was to be done in a certain time frame because my 95yr old Dad was about to pass, and we what his last days to be spent at home with family, which did not happen thanks to this Co. After talking to the owner he said it wasn't is problem that his product Manger never should done or said. That just shows me a lack of responsible he has for his own employees and just a way for him to justify the work not being done on time.
