Lady arrived at 11:03am and then my gift card didn't work even though I was there the previous weekend and had my old gift card exchanged for a new one...which took the gentleman 40 minutes to get fixed. Then it took 3 more people, including the gentleman that helped me the previous Sunday, to get my card to work. They no longer have the light up menus so you end up using your phone. By the time we finally were able to get into the theater we had already missed the first 10 minutes of the movie. We ordered 2 cocktails and it took 20 minutes to arrive. Ak Chin Circle is definitely not like it was before 2020 and has definitely gone down hill. I am honestly surprised it is still up and running. We will go out of town to watch a movie going forward.

Maybe it was the nearly 100 degree weather in the direct sun? A few of the vendors gave samples, but most were merely selling their artisan fare. Only great thing was getting to buy some garlic cloves so I can plant garlic in my garden for this season. I missed the ordering window from my usual Arizona farm. The table to make yourself an olive branch crown was also a quaint but it was too hot to stand out in the sun longer than necessary. My advice is to attend this event early in the day! Expect a crowd if you are attending this. My honest opinion is check out the Olive Mill's any other day of the year. Lots of unique items and locally grown olive oils and vinegars are there to purchase all year long.

This is a decent family friendly event since there are plenty of activities to do. Things like classes on how to grow and cook garlic, garlic vendors, face painting, raffles, corn hole competitions, and live music. I came here mainly for the food. They have several food trucks and the olive mill building itself has several eating establishments inside of there. Got in line for Del Piero Kitchen and ordered a Drunken Garlic Pulled Pork Sandwich. For $15 it came with a side of Sicilian slaw and del piero olive mix. The sandwich itself had olive wood smoked pork shoulder, carmelized pineapple and prickly pear agrodolce made with prickly pear white balsamic reduction, house Sicilian slaw, on a Noble brioche bun. Was a bit disappointed. Seemed to lack flavor. I ended up pouring some drunken garlic bbq sauce from the $9 bottle that I just purchased in which it gave it somewhat flavor. I could only eat half of the sandwich and didnt want to force myself to finish it even though I was still hungry. Since I was not satisfied I wanted to go check out the two food trucks that were there which were It's Seoul Good and Chef on the Go. Both were closed up already and getting ready to leave which I found disappointing as well since the time was only 6:30 pm and the place closed at 9. Ended up going to McDonald's after to get a McDouble just to satisfy my hunger. Some useful info: Place is located on the corner of W Combs Rd and S Meridian Rd with the entrance on the west side of S Meridian Rd. Parking is free and is on a dirt lot so wear the appropriate footwear. Admission is free. This event is in it's 10th year so it's been going on since 2013. There are several port o potties if you need to go to the bathroom. Make sure to grab a free informational guide at the entrance which gives you an overall map of the place and schedules of events. They have misters where the outdoor dining tables are for your convenience. For the Garlic Fest there is a separate garlic menu just for this event. The olive mill itself has it's own normal daily operations in which you can check on their website at www.queencreekolivemill.com Overall, my visit was just ok. If you have been to the Garlic Festival in Gilroy, this does not compare for that one was bigger and you had more food options. So if you come to this event, don't set your expectations too high. The birds strategically placed all around the grounds was a nice touch. The koy feeding pound was nice with its running water providing some soothing ambient noise. We order a couple of bottles of wine and a couple of charcuterie boards. The options on the boards were very nice. The disappointing part is that it wasn't on a board. It came in a Styrofoam box. While not a big deal, it did take away from the ambiance and winery feel. Sorry, I don't remember the exact names of the bottles but I will do my best to distinguish them. Also... I'm a bit of a wine snob, but know nothing about wine. I just know what I like. I will start with the Pinot Grigio that's made at this winery. It had a bit of a sweet tinge to it. Not overpowering but definitely hits you on the back end. It was ok, but I don't really care for a sweetness in most my wines. We also had another Pinot Grigio that was not made at that location. That was more to my liking, with a nice dry back to it and a bit of bitterness. We also had a sweet white. I remember this one because they didn't really qualify it a Syrah, Reisling, or Moscato. They compared to a Reisling but I feel it was more adjacent to a Syrah. It was berry forward. Not for me but my grandmother loved it. After the two bottles we drank by the glass. My wife and I stuck with the imported Pinot and my in-law la stuck with the Syrah adjacent. We also ordered one of their flat bread pizzas. While it seemed as if they didn't really have much of a kitchen the pizza was a pleasant surprise. We really enjoyed it. As it got later in the afternoon people began to leave. We were among the last to start to leave, but as we were walking out you could see cars began to arrive and they were in the stages of setting up for an even event with a band. I will surely return for that. I love live music and pair with wine and food... well then you just stole my heart. Great place to visit.

They have the gallows trap door, a dual execution chair, a gas chamber door, and nooses people were hanged with from the local prison. Each of the nooses hanging on the wall has the mugshots of the people the nooses were used on, including Eva Dugan (the only woman hanged in Arizona who subsequently lost her head when executed). The museum also has a cabinet dedicated to the Winnie Ruth Judd, the Trunk Murderess. They have one of the monkey dolls she made. If you aren't interested in the macabre, there's furniture made out of cactus wood, and a few items from the decades past (barbed wire, saddles, Gene Autry memorabilia, etc). The museum operates on donations, and they don't stare you down if you're only able to spare some pocket change. I highly recommend going on your own personal walking/driving tour of historic Florence, though. Many 100-year-old buildings lovingly preserved and documented by the city's historical society. Gotta love that court house.

Concessions were good, not great, but very reasonably priced. Tickets for the races are $20 for adults and children 11 & under are free. They do have beer for the adults and designated seating for those that do partake in the consumption of alcohol. Bring a stadium seat with you, you'll want one. They do sell them for $12 if you need to purchase one.
