We locked ourselves out of our house and called on a weekend for a locksmith to come out. The guy who answered, I'm assuming the owner, said he was sending out Juan, who worked for him. Juan called me a few minutes later to confirm my address and said he would be out in about 40 minutes because he was already getting ready to leave. An hour and twenty minutes later, he texted to say he was fifteen minutes away. Fifteen minutes later, he called and said he would be there in five minutes. He finally showed up an hour and forty-five minutes after he initially called. And no apology for being late either. By then we could have had my parents bring a spare key from Galveston to Pearland for free, so the prompt response I was expecting didn't happen. They guy got it opened quickly and didn't damage anything. But when it came time to pay, I asked how much, and he asked if I was given a quote. That rang as odd to us, as if there isn't a standard fee for a call out to unlock a door, which seems to be the case with other reviews. It was $80 to have him open the door, which isn't outrageous, but the wait was crazy! Wouldn't recommend them and wish we had checked Yelp before calling them out. read more

Honest guys! Great Price, Great service! Small business, so I did have to wait for a bit. But really, who hasn't waited for an Auto locksmith? It's the nature of the business. I would have felt comfortable if Wendell Lee had shown up at 2am! They made quick work of the job once they arrived. He and his female assistant, were able to get into the plastic steering housing without breaking it. Which is unusual with my vehicle. I don't have an electronic key, so this is a safety feature. I'm so glad I made that one additional call and talked to Wendell. He gave me a fair price and wonderful service. If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. I'm about 90% sure these crooks aren't even legally licensed. When asked for their licensing information, they hang up on you. They also offer you 3 different outrageous price options within 45 minutes on-site to open a car door. Technician offered prices from $125-$165-$145. Ended up paying $145...to open a car door, which took him less than 2 minutes. This company was called by my insurance agency, which is fully covered under my insurance coverage. This was fully understood over the phone prior to the technician being dispatched. The gentleman my wife spoke to over the phone clearly stated we'd receive an INVOICE (not a receipt). Our insurance company was then going to receive the invoice for payment. The technician began to argue with my wife and tried to convince her that she misunderstood what the gentleman said on the phone and proceeded to pull up the recorded call. Even in the recorded call the guy told my wife we'd receive and INVOICE. These people don't even understand the difference between invoice and receipt. We wouldn't have even brought them out to perform the work had they not said we'd receive an invoice to pay. My wife had accidentally locked the dog inside the car with her keys. So it was important to get the car open as soon as possible. The technician was fully aware there was a dog inside the car and proceeded to argue with us over payment for an hour. We also waited over an hour for him to show up after being told he'd arrive in 15 minutes. He refused to do the work while we tried to contact the insurance company to figure out payment and began to leave. I finally told him I'd pay him and he demanded payment before doing the work. These people are disrespectful and crooked. The technician claimed there were no male dispatchers when we tried to explain that we were told by someone at his office we'd get an invoice. He looked pretty dumb when he played the recorded call back and there was a male speaking with my wife. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS! read more

I lost the key to my Sentry Safe that had all our personal papers and passports In it. The lock Smith was very professional and had to drill the safe open, making a huge mess which was left for me to clean up . Made an appointment over a week in advance and I ended up calling Wendell after an hour of waiting after the appointment time. No one was on the way prior to this and the person that was sent didn't have enough equipment to give me enough newly cut keys. The price of the service was also much higher than listed on the website. The call out fee alone jumped from $19 as listed on the website to $30. Highly disappointed overall as I had to go out and make extra keys and will eventually have to replace the cylinder on one door as it is already starting to bind again. I normally don't put up reviews good or bad but this was infuriating enough that I felt the need to tell others. read more

We called about 4 different locksmiths on a Sunday afternoon after getting locked out of the house. This was the only company willing to come out. Wendell or Winston (I can't remember) was very punctual, very friendly and very efficient. His quote was reasonable and he was very honest . The job was easier than anticipated so the final price was less than the quote. We highly recommend this company and I am glad I did not let the Yelp reviews deter me from using them . Another thing that I noticed was when he left he saw our kids playing in the street in front of our driveway and instead of turning around and driving by them, he went the long way out of the neighborhood. You definitely dont always find people that are that considerate anymore. read more

The guy that cleans our office lost his key so we had to get the locks re-keyed. We called Blackburns and talked to Wendell...he sent a guy out to our office (don't remember his name) well, after the guy left, I noticed that when I tried unlocking our back door, I couldn't take the key out, therefore unlocking my back door was impossible. I called Wendell back and let him know what happened...he then had the guy that did the work call me back and tell me that's how the door is supposesd to be. I told him that was not true and he then stated he'd call me back. Never heard back from him! (shocker) I then called Wendell back and he then refused to fix the door and won't return my call. A few weeks ago, we had someone servicing the security for our front door and I asked him about our back door while he was here...he fixed it for free and let us know that the person that installed it, didn't do it correctly. I would not reccomend anyone using this company, they do not stand behind their work and their work is not done correctly. read more

This is a horrible place of business. I called them on a Sunday to come and back keys for a Kia I have since the keys were misplaced. The guy tried 6 different times to make keys and still could not do it. In the meantime he left and said he was going to get more keys to try and my husband found the keys and the owner said that we still owed a service fee when we called to let them know that the keys were found, which was fine but when we try to start the Kia it would not start using our keys. The guy that was trying to make the keys obviously messed up the ignition switch. I called Wendall and he refused to fix the issue, said it was going to cost me 250 to have someone come out and do it. Even tho it was his guy that messed it up. His response was how do I know it was not messed up before. This is horrible customer service. His guy was out there for 2 hours then could not do what he came to do and messed up my ignition switch and now tells me it will cost me 150 for the part and 250 to change it out and all because you send someone to do a job that did not know what he was doing and I have to pay for this. I wish I would have read the reviews below prior to contacting this company. This company does not honor the price nor the requests of its customers. I contacted the company while driving (the reason why I failed to fully read the reviews) to assist my mother, whose non-English speaking with unlocking the property where she was cleaning at. I asked to be called by the gentleman servicing to ensure she knew the final price before agreeing to anything. While the locksmith did call me to reconfirm the address, he never called to follow up as he stated he would once he arrived at the location. The person servicing the location took advantage that she did not speak the language and that she was flustered and a nervous wreck as this was a new client. The locksmith who stated he was from a third party company, "Country Care Locksmith" first told her he would charge her $125 and came down to $87.25 after seeing that she would not budge with that price. While this locksmith did speak some basic Spanish, what he himself told me, I asked twice that he call me beforehand so that I could fully translate for my mother before any transaction took place. When I initially contacted the company I was told that the cost would be $15 for the visit and $35 for the first hour. Something that seems reasonable. I was also told the locksmith would arrive within 15 minutes. After an hour and 15 minutes I followed up with the locksmith, seeing that I had not heard from him and he stated he had already provided service and when I proceeded to ask him for the cost and why he had not contacted me prior to servicing, he told me it was initially $125 because he had to drive from Alvin to Friendswood to service and that he was contracted by Blackburn's when they did not have enough staff or when a location was off the vicinity of their service area. Again, I contacted Blackburn's because they were located in Friendswood, according to the address provided on Yelp and reiterated to the owner that took my initial call what the location was. I was transparent from the beginning that my mother did not speak the language and requested that I be called before any service was provided to ensure what the final cost of the service would be. None of my requests were honored and instead a third party was contacted to provide the service in an area that he does not even service! I understand each company is at liberty to set their prices, but when a customer requests a quote and final price of a service beforehand, one should honor that request. If I would have known they were planning to charge this exorbitant cost (mind you the initial cost they attempted to charge was $125) for a woman who earns $90 for cleaning a home, I would have waited to arrive at my office and look up and consult other companies and/or find an alternative with her employer to reschedule her cleaning date. They have not only lost a client, but the opportunity to have future referrals. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. I locked my keys in my car and called this place because the website said they charge a $10 service call fee and unlock services starting at $35. I knew it wouldn't be that difficult to unlock my car, so I was thinking it would cost me around $50. Ten minutes after I called, I get a call from someone else who apparently was an independent contractor who confirmed the address and said he was "exactly 23 minutes away." About 55 minutes later I called him back and he said he was "exactly 8 minutes away." When he finally showed up, I got no explanation or apology for it taking him over an hour to get there when he was supposedly only 23 minutes away. It took him about 10 seconds to unlock my car and he charged me $165. I questioned this since the website said starting at $35. He told me that was only if I wanted him to drill the lock out (which apparently would have been easier than the 10 second job he did?). Since I had to get to work, I paid then called the main line back, where I was told I should have negotiated the price with the contractor. I asked him how I would have known the prices were negotiable since they are listed on the website. I asked that some of this absurd fee be refunded. I was told the contractor would be contacted and I would get a call back, but I never did. I sent two follow up emails over the course of the next few days and never heard anything back. I even offered to pay $80 even though I felt that was absurdly high. I would never use this company's services again, but if they had been willing to do the right thing and refund some of my money, I would have foregone leaving a negative review. I have never left a negative review before, but I had to this time to try to give others a chance to avoid this deceitful company that takes advantage of people in this situation. These people are crooks and liars. I was locked out of the house and some guy shows up an hour later and proceeds to bump my lock over 20 times. I said don't locksmiths normally drill the lock. He said "oh hell, that would take me two hours"! He proceeded to pry my door open with a crowbar and that is how he "opened" my door. The door is practically torn from the frame. The frame is cracked from top to bottom and the small lock plate is completely turned horizontal where it was vertical before. I paid the guy and surveyed all the damage. I couldn't believe it! I called of course and spoke to "Wendall" he said....said he's the owner and would send me a check. Haha joke's on me! These people do not make good on their word or apparently anything else. I've been lied to again and again and again. And given the run around again and again. Go out and learn to be a locksmith before you call these guys!
