I moved back to the area about three years ago and needed a key made and stopped in and was treated like I was the owner of the place. During the past three years I've used Liberty Lock Shop many times. They are the only place in the Tri-County area that can properly cut a CanAm key, plus they can successfully program it at about a third of the cost the dealer would charge. Most recently I had a trailer lock damaged by vandalism so I took the trailer to them and once again, was treated like the MVP. The work is supreme and prices are very competitive. I could not recommend Liberty Lock Shop any higher. read more

Our second time using this locksmith service, I needed to bring the lock in to be keyed and most of the other services were mobile with no store front so a service call would have to be added to the cost!?! I was in and out in 10 minutes with a small fraction of the price I could have paid. Made a dumb joke about a lady locksmith couldn't/wouldn't be a burglar (dumb on several levels) and saw an inventory of SERIOUS lock type hardware around the walls, and was happily on my way. I still miss the old locksmith in the old Sears Store on Main Street in Houston, but this is a nice southeast side business we'd go back to any day of the week. read more

When I called to have someone come out and change the locks on my home, I let them know that I had somewhere I needed to be by 11:00 that day. She told me they would be here as close to 9:00AM as possible. The gentlemen showed up at about 8:35 and they were gone before 9:00. I took my front door key to Liberty Locksmith and had two copies cut. Neither one worked. I took them back and two more keys were cut. They did not work either. I went back again. I wanted to give them an opportunity to fix the problem. They said the key I was using may be worn or the lock was worn, but didn't offer to pursue it further. I went to the locksmith further down the street and had two keys cut from the same key that I gave Liberty Locksmith to copy. Both keys cut by the other locksmith worked. I don't mind if Liberty may have not got it quiet right, but I do mind that I was rudely blown off. read more

Liberty came out to my home the day after I called and re-keyed all our doors. They would have come the same day but we were not available. I had called around looking for quotes and had spoken to some other person who quoted a higher number. I told them I was going to work with Liberty and I did not need their service. The "unknown locksmith" showed up the next morning and said they were an independant contractor working for Liberty Locksmith. He insisted he was with Liberty but I thought it strange that he was working out of the trunk of his car! I called Liberty and they informed me that was NOT their guy. Robyn from Liberty came over the house right away and chased the scam artist off (He was not even a licensed locksmith!). She explained this happens all the time when you get quotes from the "24 hour service places". Robyn saved us from getting taken for a ride. Beware the locksmith that cannot show you his license and works out of the trunk of his car!!! read more
