PA Watera was thorough and even provided written over the counter products that could assist. I called on 11/11 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Woolfolk. Unfortunately, my experience with the appointment scheduler, Sahira, was disappointing. She came across as very short and dismissive, and scheduled the appointment without first confirming which provider I wanted to see. When I clarified that I specifically wanted Dr. Woolfolk, she let out a long sigh, which felt unprofessional and made me feel like I was being a bother. I asked her to transfer me if I was causing frustration, but instead, she suggested the issue was a misunderstanding on my part. I explained that I understood her clearly, but her tone was unnecessarily rude. If you happen to get Sahira as your scheduler, be prepared for a less-than-welcoming interaction. read more

I cannot recommend this place, as my experience felt both repetitive and unhelpful. I visited 4-5 times and was seen by Blackburn's daughter, who is either in the process of taking over her father's practice or has already done so. While she was polite in terms of customer service, there was little actual progress in addressing my concerns. Each visit cost $300, which I would not have minded had there been meaningful results. Prior to coming here, I had already seen a primary care physician who prescribed oral steroids and steroid creams, neither of which worked for me. That was the reason I sought treatment at this office. Unfortunately, every appointment felt like starting from the beginning. She repeatedly asked the same questions--such as which doctor I had previously seen and what they had prescribed--without seeming to recall my prior visits or treatment history. I found myself spending more time with the scheduling staff than with her directly, and when we did meet, the recommendations rarely went beyond the same list of steroid creams I had already tried and reported as ineffective. Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially given the positive reviews that initially led me here. Dr. Woolfolk is the best. My visits were for hyperpigmentation and hair thinning. I used the Blackburn cream on my face as directed. The cream cleared my skin completely in about 4 months. I've been coming here for over a decade since I was in high school. Dr. Blackburn managed my eczema as it got worse in my adolescent and college years. I thought I would have to find a new Dermatologist when he retired but his daughter Dr. Woolfolk is just as good if not better! She helped me finally get rid of my cystic acne and prescribed a better topical ointment for my eczema, now I get way less flare ups and no longer need steroid injections to manage it. Also with their Blackburn mixture my hyperpigmentation is 10x better. Her entire staff from the front desk, to the MA's and PA's are always so kind and warm. I mainly see the PA's now that my chronic issues are under control, they are just as great as Dr. Woolfolk. I refer all my friends here whenever they ask for derm recommendations. read more

The structure that they currently have in place to make an appointment is absolutely outrageous. Especially for new patients. On Monday, September 21, 2020, I called at 9:30am, after being on hold for 17 MINUTES to make an appointment, I hung up because I needed to return back to work. I attempted to call again at 1:30pm, I was on hold for 23 MINUTES, someone finally answered. Me: Hi, I'm calling to make an appointment Reception: Are you a new patient? Me: Yes, I am. Reception: I'll have to create a chart for you and text you a link to complete the new patient paper work, once it's completed then you can call us back to make an appointment. Me: It's okay, forget it. After, being on hold for 23 minutes, what do you mean call back again!!! Normally offices would schedule the appointments and then send the necessary paperwork that needs to be filled out. Definitely not worth the hassle! read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I've never had an issue with this office until now. As a matter of fact, I've left satisfied after every appointment prior. Due to my hair condition, my appointments were scheduled monthly for a total of 6. I went in for my last scalp injection appointment and during that time (prior to actually receiving the injections) I was advised by Dr. Woolfolk that she would like me to utilize minoxidil in combination with Nutrafol to aid in my hair regrowth. She told me minoxidil would be covered by my insurance and due to my informing her that I'd prefer not to tussle with my hair on a daily basis, she recommended the oral version rather than the topical. Mind you, I didn't initiate that discussion. Afterwards, I asked her (I repeat, ASKED) what kind of appointment I should call to request in order to have a small skin tag removed from my face. She responded by saying that I need to request a mole removal. I followed up by asking if I could do that at the front and she stated yes or I could do it online but that she would notate it on my chart. SHE NEVER ONCE LOOKED AT MY FACE, EXAMINED MY FACE OR TOUCHED MY FACE! It was literally only a question regarding what I just mentioned--nothing more nothing less--and once she told me how to proceed with booking it, that's was the end of it. She proceeded with my injections and after completion, I headed to the front desk. Upon arrival to the front, I'm asked whether my insurance had changed and I provided them with an updated insurance card. I'm then advised my injection appointment was now considered an office visit due to there being discussion about something other than my scalp--referencing my QUESTION about a mole removal appointment--and that it will be a $104.69 charge! I immediately became livid! When I emphasized the inaccuracy of what was being stated, the front desk assistant went back to talk with Dr. Woolfolk twice, only to come back and advise me that the Dr. said we discussed more than my scalp including medications!!! The medications that SHE brought up to me regarding how to continue treatment for my scalp! COMPLETE AND UTTER LIES!! The assistant followed up by saying that if they get audited and it's determined they're discussing anything other than what the scheduled appointment was for they could get in trouble. The fact that this office is charging for literally ASKING QUESTIONS and masking it as an office visit is outlandish and shameful!!! Never again will I return and I'll be sure to make it known to everyone who's considering going and that I've previously recommended to her office. If there's a means to report this insurance scam/fraudulent activity to higher authority, I'll certainly be doing that as well!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Called in January to make an appointment for a rash I had and to look at a mole. First available appointment wasn't until March 3rd. My appointment date comes, my rash is gone but I was keeping the appointment so they could look at a mole. I receive a text that morning stating my appointment was cancelled "due to unforeseen circumstances". When I called to reschedule the first available wasn't until mid April. Needless to say I will not be rescheduling and will look for a new doctor. Update-received a call from the office explaining reason for last minute cancellation. Absolutely my saving grace! Brace yourself, it's a sob story! Once upon a time, when I was in college, with normal healthy skin, I got adult acne! I not only had large cystic pimples, but i also had terrible acne scars. It was so bad, that my face was a completely different color than the rest of my body! I could've lost my mind, luckily my mom had the perfect solution we visited Dr. Blackburn and he knew right away that it was a hormonal imbalance. I was treated with antibiotics that helped flush any impurities in my body and within a month, my pimples were almost nonexistent. That was beck in 2014. He has retired now, but his daughter has continued his practice and everyone there is soooo sweet. Though they are extremely busy, you never have to wait a terrible amount of time. All aids in the office are so friendly and greet you with such an amazing smile. I've seen a couple of assistants and each one has been extremely helpful. My only issue is parking. It is a complete pain to park and actually get in there. It seriously doesn't matter what time of day it is. The parking lot is always completely packed. I can be 5-10 mins ahead of schedule and I will still be late because I'm trying to find parking. Once you do, the spots are so tiny I always get nervous of someone scratching my car. I called the office and they took my phone number and text me the link to the new patient form. Once you fill out and submit the new patient form you can make your appointment online. I've been battling alopecia for years without any definitive answers. Decided to give Dr Blackburn's practice a shot. First - the PA, Ceyda Ors, gave me a definitive diagnosis on what's going on with my hair and scalp. They have been upfront about my condition, yet compassionate and caring. I am a 72-year-old woman who loves the Lord and truly love people, but this robotic "Klara" A.I. system that Dr. Wolfolk has set in place to torment her new patients is absolutely satanic in my opinion. I can see that many of her reviewers feel the same way. In this day and age of I T business, many of us senior citizens are not as tech savvy and would just like to go into an office, fill out the paperwork, and be seen for our medical issues, but Dr. Woolfolk and her well-trained crew doesn't seem to possess the Christlike compassion nor understand this. She has trained her team to meet her callers with such antagonism and abruptness that one is left feeling as though we've spoken with perhaps some of those apocalyptic, end-time gravediggers!!!!! I canceled my appointment before I ever got a chance to go, based on the staff interaction. The first day I called to schedule an appointment, I was told I needed to fill out new patient paperwork before I could do so and was sent a text to complete. I complete my paperwork on Thursday evening, and Friday morning, I started to receive texts from the office about scheduling, mind you it took 2 business days to get an appointment scheduled. I was offered an appointment, replied within about a 10 min span, only to get a reply an hour later saying the appointment was no longer available and offered another option. I ended up calling the office on Monday to schedule the appointment because the delayed response and the appointments disappearing wasn't working. Then I got a message the day before my appointment stating they couldn't verify my benefits in their automated system... FOCUS ON THEIR. Then received a call from one of their office employees saying the same thing and was told "I NEEDED TO" call my insurance company myself and see what was going on. So I called my insurance company, since the doctors office had not bothered to call. Called the office back with my insurance provider on the line and one very mouthy woman said that they didn't do 3 way calls and when I informed her I was trying to help them get my insurance verified she said nothing and put us on hold. Moments later, another lady got on the phone and was trying to help, but then said "anyone could be on the phone pretending to be verifying benefits and how they knew it was the insurance company?" After getting everything squared away, I thought about it, and didn't like any of the attitudes I had received from the staff or the time I had wasted trying to get an appointment and verifying my own insurance after they didn't even bother to get on the phone to call them and told me to do it, then questioned the authenticity of the call after they didn't do it themselves (like the are supposed to be doing!) I called back to cancel my appointment, the person answering the phone, again had attitude, asked me my name and DOB, then stated "it's canceled" and hung up. I have heard great things about the doctor herself, but she seems to be surrounded by rude, incompetent staff. I'll find another dermatologist. read more

The woman that always answer the phone to book the actual appointment has horrible customer service skills, her tone in her voice is definitely set at a "She doesn't care for patients" voice. I've called into this office three times and have unsuccessfully been able to speak to someone who is polite. I've also asked her for an alternate source so that I may feel out the form to see a dermatologist because I have not reviewed any text from this doctors office however she proceeds to always respond with "hang up and call back" after I've told her once before about the long wait on the phone, just to continuously speak to her rude self. The staff and medical professionals at Blackburn and Woolfolk are so very kind. I am so happy i decided to try to find another dermatologist after a negative experience I had. Dr. Erin came in and listened to my every concern. On my follow up I told her what I thought was working and what just does not fit into my crazy life and she listened and helped me come up with solutions. I am optimistic that we have a regimen that will help me. I recently visited the office for a few skin issues, namely hyperpigmentation and some breakouts on my forehead. I met with Erin, one of the PA's and was impressed with the exam and her knowledge. While I did not get an exact diagnosis on my forehead issue, the treatment plan is working so far. My skin has not been this smooth or flowed so much in a while. I met Dr. Woolfolk as well and found all the staff to be kind and professional. I was seen within a few minutes of my appointment time. This will definitely be my go to dermatology office. read more

I've spent hundreds of dollars here only to leave with no hope and zero concerns addressed. Whatever I communicated to the dermatologist/PA was immediately dismissed and forgotten. I was pressured into getting tests done that I did not feel comfortable with. The dermatologist didn't know anything that was on my chart. My condition could have easily been handled through communication and actually listening to me, but for whatever reason I was shut down completely. Doctors please listen to your patients. EDIT: if you can assure me so faithfully, why don't you ask why Dr. Woolfolk refused to listen to a word I said? The Physical assistant was there to witness the blatant indifference. The PA even had to interject herself to correct Woolfolk after she obtusely misunderstood what I was saying. You're right your environment is friendly, except for the dermatologist itself, the most important aspect of any practice. read more

**DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!** This place is the beyond unprofessional! If I could give it 0 stars I would! This is my second time attempting to see someone here and both times have failed! Unless you have all day to wait to see someone, their is NO POINT IN BOOKING APPOINTMENTS! They might as well just do walk -ins. 1st time coming: I booked an appt that was confirmed by one of the staff members. As a new patient they ask you to come in 30mins early to fill out paperwork. I was being proactive and printed forms online and brought them in already completed. Also, still coming in the 30mins early for my appt. After waiting 20mins PAST MY APPT, I was told that I never even had an appt and they could not fit me in until 3hrs later. After going back in fourth explaining that I had confirmed my appt with a staff member they tell me, "NOPE! We do not have you". At this point I leave and immediately call the supervisor. Of course the lady on the phone gave me trouble and had a terrible attitude as if she was correct and just forwarded me to the supervisors voicemail.I leave and get a callback 2hrs later. I explained to the supervisor my conflict. Me knowing that all calls are recorded, I asked the supervisor to pull my call while I am on the phone so that I can hear the call as well and what do you have it... me and a staff member on the phone confirming my appt for the correct time!!! He asks if I could come back and by this time 3hrs had gone by and I live an 1hr away so I said no. He decides to credit me $25 because it was a mistake on their behalf and apologies for the inconvenience. 2nd appt: If you read the above... After speaking with the supervisor who seemed genuine in his apology on behalf of the staff, I decided to try again months later. *BIG MISTAKE!* My appt was at 10:30am. I am still considered a new patient so I come in 25mins early with my forms already completed. As soon as I walk in I see about 15 people waiting. Right then I knew this was not going to happen. I decided to go against my better judgement and wait for my appt. 5mins before my appt time, I was told I need to pay my co-pay first. This would not have been an issue if my appt was going to be on time or maybe 10/15 mins past BUT no they had a full house waiting. Therefore, I asked if I could pay afterwards due to it now being 10:30 and I notice there are 15 other people waiting before me. Staff says "NO, you cannot even be put on the list to see a dr. until you PAY FIRST". I then say "okay well my appt is at 10:30 it is now that time, how much longer will I have to wait PAST MY ALREADY SCHEDULED APPT". I am then told that anytime you book an apt you will still have to wait 30-45mins or longer depending on how busy it is past your actual appt. THEN WHAT IS THE POINT IN SCHEDULING AN APPT!!! Also, judging by how full the waiting room was I would have been waiting at least an hour past. I understand things happen and sometimes your appt runs a little late but NOT EVERY TIME you try to come in and it shouldn't be automatically be a 30-45mins on a scheduled appt. That defeats the purpose of scheduling an appt! THIS PLACE IS ABSURD AND CLEARLY OVER BOOKING THEMSELVES. THE FACT THEY ALSO WANT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY UPFRONT WHICH TIES YOU INTO STAYING HOURS PAST YOUR APPT IS BEYOND MY BELIEF! Most drs offices make you pay after your appt OR bill your insurance but okay they want you to pay upfront, THAT'S FINE.. BUT THEN MAKE SURE PEOPLE ARE SEEN UPFRONT AND ON TIME! Good day. read more

I went in for a follow up appointment. I really feel like I just wasted my money and time. The staff was polite but as far as the Doctor/PA she completely ignored my concerns like. I told her I have ingrown hairs and she told me there's nothing they can do I should continue to exfoliate and stop shaving...
