I chose Dr. Ellen Turner in part because she markets her practice as offering functional medicine and hormone evaluation, and this was explicitly reiterated to me at the time of scheduling a new-patient appointment. Upon arrival, I was told, by the nurse who began my appointment, that these services are no longer offered. This information and the whole nurse interaction was delivered in a rude, dismissive tone towards me. When I questioned the discrepancy between what was advertised and what was actually provided, the staff response made it clear this practice is struggling with medical burnout and workload issues. This discrepancy constitutes misleading advertising and induced me to schedule a visit under false assumptions. I informed the nurse and front desk that I was not going to waste my time or a copay under those circumstances, thanked them, and walked out. More broadly, what is concerning is a clear pattern in how patient distress and criticism are handled. In public responses to negative reviews, the practice repeatedly invokes HIPAA, policy, credentials, and the "inappropriateness" of public feedback--not to acknowledge harm, but to deflect it and subtly shift blame onto patients. The choice not to offer either reinforces an unequal power dynamic where patients are framed as confused or inappropriate for speaking up. This is my 2nd dermatology office I tried & all I can say i am still looking for dermatologist. Waiting room is tiny & charis are all crowded in the room. I will say it was the smallest waiting I ever been into. when i saw Dr. Turner... all I can say... "I am not so sure...." feeling. Would you hire an overweight personal trainer?? Would you hire crappy dressed person to be your wardrope makeover person? Would you go see a plastic surgery doctor who looks like had an awful face job?? You definately won't see a dentist who has all messed teeth, right? You know where I am going... But I was already there so I showed her my Keloid scar & asked for a steriod shot to calm my scar down. She gave me a shot and also suggested a scar cream. I asked her "my other dermatology doctor told me there is no cream that can get rid of my scar." Her respond was "I disagree!". So she gve me a perscribtion & said this compound pharmacy won't charge me if I don't want it or if my insurance won't cover it. Well, all I can say that compound pharmacy charged my yearly spending account $50 then sent me the cream I didn't even authorize it. I returned the cream & they say they will reimburse it but never got the money back. When I called them, they said they refunded but my perscribtion company couldn't find the record. First of all they overcharged me for my copay and I've called them 4 times for my refund. Every time they told me they will send it "today". Still waiting on that check... They make you give them your credit card information for future charges before you are ever seen. I called and made an appointment for 3 minor issues (acne, white spot on back, toenail) and when I came in they told me they can only see me for two things at a time because of insurance and I have to come back in a few weeks. Sounds like they just wanted to charge a double office visit. I saw the doctor for 3 minutes. And she prescribed me some medications based on what the nurse told her. She didn't even look at my symptoms. I informed her that I was pregnant and she said they are totally safe. I paid $60 for the prescriptions only to read that I shouldn't use if pregnant. read more

Worst doctor ever. Hands down. I never write a review unless I absolutely have to. But this one is necessary. I stayed with Dr. Turner way too long. Which is a mistake on my part. I did not want to start the process all over again with a new dr. But I should've. I don't even know where to begin. First off they don't like speaking over the phone. Which is super weird. They only like to communicate thru the portal, which I hated. Second, every single time I would go for an appt. & I mean every. Single. Time. Dr. Turner would constantly tell me I was doing my skin care medicine routine wrong. No matter what m, each time I went over the last 3 years something I was doing was not correct. It made me furious because I would do exactly as she told me. Not to mention she only wanted me on the top best name brand creams/pills which were all atleast $80-90 each (& mind you I use about 4 diff prescriptions for my face) & after a few months of using meds she'd say her famous line of "just trash them!" As if we were all her & could afford to throw away expensive stuff like that & start over. I can understand if something isn't working, then switch it up. But it started to come across that she was making some sort of a profit off selling her own products. They want you to buy their name brand crap because I'm sure there's an incentive for them. Her & her little nurse side kicks don't give a crap about you. The only thing half way decent about that place is the girls who work at the front. They actually seemed to genuinely care about me when I left my last appt very upset. I recently switched doctors & am 10000% happier. My new dr was able to help me with coupons & pharmacies & got my medicine for $15 instead of $90. So don't give Dr. Turner your business! Go elsewhere! There's better doctors out there! read more

Ellen Turner dermatology office is inconsistent in professionalism. Multiple times this office has called me to cancel appointments. Reasons for cancellations: "The doctor is leaving early" "The esthetician has changed her schedule and is not available on the day of your appointment" (this has happened 3 times) "We don't offer you schedule appointment hours in Irving any more. Can you drive to Dallas?" "We need to reschedule your microdermabrasion. We don't have a day this month available for you. Oh, your are automatically charged for this service? Service was good, diagnosis was well explained, very clean environment, customer service was nice. The reason why it is not a 5 star review is because I could ONLY be seen on Fridays in the Irving office, which didn't always work well with my schedule, but I made it work. Don't bother with this place! Was referred to this office, which was a waste of my time! Staff is apparently untrained, as the woman creating my chart couldn't get anything correct, and kept asking me the same questions over and over again. Even put me down as the opposite sex on my chart!! Dr. Sanchez did not seem very friendly. Was more like "oh well, its a job" kind of attitude. He gave me a Rx and made another appointment for me three months away. I went to that appointment and was told by the window clerk that the Dr.s don't work on Tuesdays anymore and my appointment was cancelled! But obviously nobody at this UNPROFESSIONAL office could be bothered to let ME know about that! Do NOT waste your time or money with this place. read more
