Enjoying watching and listening to outdoor Zumba from Crunch Fitness
Daniel C.

Blackhawk is a community just east of Danville, and its famous for Blackhawk Plaza, which is a must-visit place in my opinion. Although Blackhawk Plaza is technically an outdoor luxury mall, I consider it more like an entertainment center that is designed to relax and de-stress. I've been coming here regularly after moving here some 7 years ago and as a new parent, looking forward to coming back. I never come here to shop, since the small boutique shops are not for me. Restaurants are okay for the most part, but you're paying more for the location. The entertainment options are great: 1. Blackhawk Auto Museum is a must for car lovers, but they also have a special China exhibit and regular natural history in their main museum. 2. Ducks everywhere! You can destress while watching them swim and dive in the giant pond, and even feed them from food from Draegers. Lots of outdoor art too dedicated to ducks and geese. 3. Century Blackhawk, at least pre COVID, is an older but great theater where all seats are luxury recliners. 4. Gigantic parking lot. 5. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with Creamistry for hot days and Starbucks for any days. For casual eats, I like Beep's Burgers. 6. A playground for kids and grassy areas. 7. A Crunch! gym and a new martial arts studio coming soon. For COVID times, they offer outdoor Zumba on Sundays. 8. These used to have outdoor concerts here Pre-Covid. Even though we're still facing the pandemic, Blackhawk Plaza still has its charms. Its sad to see so many businesses close, but the ducks are always there to cheer people up.

Went for a movie across the way and after checked out Blackhawk plaza for a bite then walked around, beautiful and the waterfall with the ducks caught our attention. Ended up getting duck food to feed them

A small gem of a plaza at the top of Blackhawk. A few good quality shops and restaurants, and the Draeger's Market has a little bit of everything. Take a stroll around the plaza in a nice summer night, or catch one of the Friday free summer concerts. Grab lunch at Blackhawk grill, and definitely take a tour of the Blackhawk Auto museum.

Cars and Coffee!

Great times at their Cars and Coffee years ago! I wish that they still had them. Alot of really nice cars.

We love driving to this plaza, even it far from where we lived. The place was very peaceful and clean, water and ponds were cool and like paradise , sceneries around are beautiful .. we usually come here mostly on weekends for the kids. I would recommend anyone. It small but very clean, even the restroom are super super clean... Oh and don't forget there are ducks around ponds as well but still so clean around not like those in San Jose.

I love coming here with my little. We go buy the duck food from draegers market and feed the ducks and geese near the beautiful water features. After our duck food is gone we hit the playground. It's a fun inexpensive outing we enjoy on the regular. Usually there are other littles for my son to play with as well. There's a Starbucks in the market and some other nice restaurants to grab a bite at too.

Cars cars cars!! Love them!

The store selection is definitely on the upscale side, so Draeger's may be too pricey for some people.

Not many retail stores, but more fancy eateries for the upper class. There's also an Equinox, which is a famous fancy gym. Everything is almost expensive as Santana Row. Some security guards are walking around on duty. The parking garage is a bit curved when you enter and exit. I only like the Christmas tree area, which is beautiful to look at in the evening, including the water fountain in the kids' area. It's nice to walk around and take profile pictures, but not much to do until the holiday season. Overall, this is great for families to hang out and for rich people to dine in.

Shout-out to the unknown vendor who built the 2026 "Year of the Horse" photo booth. A heads-up: the space availability numbers posted outside the parking garage weren't accurate at all, which made the search more frustrating than it needed to be. It was also tough navigating through the crowds at times, especially because the toddlers in our group couldn't see anything over the crowds. That said, City Center Bishop Ranch truly offers something for everyone in the family. There's a splash pad that's perfect for little ones, plenty of restaurants at every price point for picky eaters, and even fun options for adults- like a DIY cocktail crawl for the 21+ crowd. We once made it our mission to try every margarita on property! I ran into my retired high school teacher, bartending at THE LOT (movie theater). On the shopping front, I do all my Anthropologie returns here, and I've been refreshing my inbox waiting for news about Rico Rico Taco opening here (I'm obsessed with their Oakland location). As for dining, I've enjoyed meals and treats from Slanted Door, Salt & Straw, Roam Artisan Burgers, Philz Coffee, Mendocino Farms, Marugame Udon, Delarosa, and Boba Guys. I still can't believe that sleepy San Ramon now has so many fantastic eateries and experiences all in one place. It's quickly become a go-to meeting place for our extended family.

I used to go to the Sachi Sushi Japanese restaurant next to the Andaman Thai restaurant in the plaza that is now closed. There was also Filipino Papaya Grill that is also now closed as well as the Firehouse No 37 and Teaspoon are all no longer there. L & L Hawaiian BBQ is taking over where Teaspoon was located. The Imperial Delight, The Clove Indian cuisine, haircut place called Mimi's cuts, Learning Express toy store and Anderson Bakery are all still there. I shop at Trader Joe and get ice cream at Cold Stone often, so glad at least both business are still there. My Gym, Sport Clips Haircuts, and Digby's premium donut are all still around as well as Starbucks Coffee. My Gym is a great place to get the kids there to stay active. It looks like Andaman Thai restaurant is going to move over to where the Firehouse No 37 used to be soon. I hope other businesses will come here to fill up all the vacant lease soon. I think it would be nice for the Market Place Shopping Plaza to put some holiday decorations like Christmas Tree or other decors to make the plaza more festive and inviting for the holidays. There are some stores on the inside with the majority of the eateries facing outward on the first floor. During the week, it was nice to walk around the shops as they weren't too crowded. They have a number of your typical retailers like anthropologie, madewell, sephora and west elm. There are a number of really great food options so it's a good place to go if you're feeling hungry. Parking is free, but kind of confusing! There's only one entrance into the parking structure in the back and once you're inside, it can be really hard to remember where you parked. The parking area isn't well marked and because of the way it's set up, it's really easy to forget where you've parked your car. You have to go down a hallway to enter into the actual shopping area and they all look identical. Try to keep tabs on this so you don't end up circling around like me!
