This is a Asian mall with many restaurants and offices ( hair cut , dental, bank , Japanese, Chinese , Mediterranean, Korean , Vietnamese, etc ) The location was on the earthquake fault line . A few years back then , there was some medium earth quake so the concrete floor had many cracks after the earthquake. They hire an artist to decorate those crack lines into plants , flowers and some California scenic places. It was very creative and they did a good job . I am posting some of the paintings here . Before there was Pacific Pearl, Dublin Ulferts Center was THE place to be for the Asian community to hang out, go get Chinese baked goods, have ramen, get desserts, experience different culinary types, and even do karaoke. Dublin Ulferts Center certainly still retained its good reputations but it's been kinda slowly getting pushed to the side by the much newer Pacific Pearl. Some shops that used to be at Ulferts but now have moved to Pacific Pearl such as Snowflakes (traitor! Lol kidding of course), and some of my favorite restaurants that used to be here have sadly closed - such as Taiwanese restaurant Liang Mama, Szechuan restaurant Happy Family, and hotpot place Halu Shabu Shabu. However, the plaza as it currently is I think still offers a decent variety of good food options - you'd find here Kee Wah Chinese bakery, Fujiwara ramen, my favorite Thai restaurant Thai Basil Express, and probably the most famous of all would be the Dublin Koi Palace for their outstanding dim sum. Another restaurant that in my opinion has really helped keep this plaza afloat is Tasty Pot. This plaza has a pretty spacious parking space, extending all the way to the back of it, making it so much easier now for customers to find parking. It is conveniently located on Dublin boulevard and is very easy to spot. The place is generally pretty clean and organized, and I really like the water fountain they put right at the center of the plaza. This particular center is much busier than the Milpitas one. I will point out that there are more restaurants than the Milpitas location. However, the one thing that sucks is the parking. I have only been successful in finding a parking spot on two occasions. Otherwise, I have been unsuccessful in finding a parking spot. I suggest avoiding the center on the weekends as it is virtually impossible to find a parking spot. read more

A solid 4/5 stars, the key places are pretty much koi palace and kee wah bakery for me and which are some of the longest standing establishments there, among a few other places too. Sadly I think with the high rent and some places mainly like some restaurants trying to find a niche crowd results in some decent restaurants coming and going in a blink of an eye. Overall, it's a nice place to visit and try some excellent food/dim sum coming from koi palace or some nice Asian cuisine in general. The only downside about this complex is the parking can be extremely bad at times, since it's pretty small overall. So you might have to park in the back or in the office building area. read more

This Strip Mall if you will is quite interesting. At first glance it looks like any other strip mall but modernize for Dublin. As you enter the parking lot you begin to realize this was catered to those who like the Asian Genere East of the Middle-East. Think of this place as a large Food Court. Though Ulfert Furniture Anchors this mall there are some other specialty stores that is not food related. But this is what this place is all about. The restaurant establishments that are are quite amazing for first timer such as myself. Fair warning though. Parking stalls is a bit tight/small for all Full Size Vehicles so try and carpool in small to mid-size cars. Though there are quite a few of parking up front there are even more behind the building. Don't worry or stress there is also a rear entrance so you don't have to walk around the entire mall. So far the Pho Saigon is my fave!! Will have to take the family here again and we really didn't get a chance to look at the entire strip mall. See ya around. read more

Known as the "Asian plaza", you'll find all kinds of different "Asian" cuisine here: Taiwanese, ramen, sushi, dim sum, pho, etc. Upstairs, you'll also find some random massage places and a furniture store. Parking gets really crowded during peak hours. So to avoid all the bad Asian drivers, park in the back of the plaza. A good restaurant choice for big dinner parties is Koi Palace. They have good dim sum but it's also a bit pricey. Liang's Kitchen (taiwanese food) is a good cheap spot for lunch. So is Thai Basil. Kee Wah bakery is where I go for my Asian buns and cakes. And of course, for dessert, Snowflake or Quickly satisfies my sweet tooth. This place really needs a Hello Kitty store or photobooth section. asian yelpers this is the place for you! i'm not really sure what's going on in dublin lately but it seems the asian population is way up and so is the amount of asian shops and restaurants. ulferts center is a trip as it's pretty much all asian restaurants, bakeries and shops in what they consider to be new dublin. what makes things weird about only a few of the shops in this center it that they are not considered to be asian. there is a cali-italian grill, a portuguese bistro and a place to trade in your used video games and even play in tournaments. well video games are really big in japan!! :) besides those it's pretty much asian restaurants, asian dentists, asian jewelers, an asian optometrist and well you get my point. the 2 asian bakeries are really great and offer great items you can't really find at other bakeries. this is the place to go if your a fan of bbq pork buns like me. next time your out this way it's definitely worth a visit as most of the businesses are just ok i strongly recommend zoie cafe, kee wah bakery and abba gourmet cal-italian grill. give these places a try and you'll thank me. if you do get out to ulferts center for dining just remember to eat where the asians do as they always say it must be good. read more

The majority of the demographic for this shopping center is Asian since most of the businesses in here are Asian (there is a Persian restaurant in the shopping center as well) We got excellent service however we got ignored at a couple business because we were not Asian. It just depends on the establishment. They have an elevator, escalator, and restrooms in the shopping center. It's a very modern and clean shopping center. I didn't feel unsafe at all . The majority of the patrons in the shopping center looked at us funny because we were not Asian, however this has no bearing on the business establishments that gave us fantastic service. It's a very interesting place. Don't get discouraged, there was very little diversity when we went but we enjoyed the establishments we went to that were welcoming. For the Asians living in the Tri-Valley area! I am thankful for this place being here because I do not go anywhere else for Chinese food at Koi and my dentist is in the same complex! It has most of the necessities a plaza needs and it definitely draws the Asians in! I have to say...I am here at least once a week...not hard to do considering what this place has. When it first opened, it was a huge attraction to the growing asian population in the area and east bay. Plenty of asian restaurants ranging from japanese, korean, cantonese, thai, to indian. The quicklys there is a popular hang out spot for teens. The main benefit of this shopping center is to provide an asian shopping center of restaurants closer to the East bay, many of whom have to go to Milpitas or San Jose. The only reason this isn't a 5 stars is because parking can be near impossible at peak meal times. read more

Great selection of Asian restaurants. I tried Macanese (from Macau) food for the first time. With it's mix of Chinese, Portugese, Indonesian and African spices you get quite an interesting fare. The bakery is also very good, cheap and full of excitment as you place your goodies on your tray. The center itself is brand new, but in that uninteresting, strip mall kind of way. There is some public art that adds a bit of charm. I would suggest that they create an outdoor picnic area so people can sit and stroll in the warm valley sun. Since it is so new, I imagine that they'll be getting more retail shops. read more

First there was 99 Ranch and Le Asia market and now there's this cool Asian strip mall full of Asian businesses. This place reminds me of the countless ethnic strip malls you find down in L.A. Actually, the whole city of Dublin reminds me of L.A with all the out of control, doesn't make sense kind of development occuring. (just look at the ugly BART parking structure!!). But the Ulferts Center is a cool addition for the local Asian community and it has a good variety of dining choices. The escalator is cool even though it is never working every time I've been there. The only thing I don't get about the place is the Ulferts furniture store. A friend had told me it was like a Ikea. Not even.... It's a small place that is pretty pricey. There was some furniture selling for $5000 and it looked like something my senior citizen Chinese neighbors would decorate their house with. But in fairness, they do have some cool stuff in there. But overall, this strip mall is good if you have Asian food on your mind. A good variety from Thai, Korean, Singaporean, Ramen, Milk teas, and Chinese baked goods and a pricey jewelry store with a tough looking Hispanic security guard protecting the front door read more

This place is kind of hidden to me. If it weren't for yelp, gps and looking for a place specifically located here I think I'd pass by without much notice. Still, once I got inside I was impressed with the amount of restaurants in there. Pretty good variety too....yakitori, ramen, thai, chinese, afghan, indian, chinese bakery, among other kinds of businesses too of course. Not a huge fan of this shopping center. Parking is'nt that great and not too many great stores to attract me to come to this shopping center. The only reason I come here is for Bank of America and to eat a Koi Garden. With two infant kids, we had to use the elevator to go up stairs....when the elevator doors opened for us out come a guys with a big 55 gallon garbage can full of garbage and rancid smelling food waste. For an Asian like me, this is a great stopping place when passing by this inner part of the Bay Area (like when I went to the Livermore outlet for shopping last weekend). Unlike other Asian plazas there's no supermarket (i.e. Ranch 99) but there were plenty of dining choices. In fact, I stopped for lunch and found two restaurants I wanted to dine at and almost couldn't decide on which one, so I ended up going to one for lunch and one for dinner. One reviewer wrote about the safety issue here. Living in SF (and Richmond years ago) it's hard for me to picture this part as being unsafe. However, I guess any location that serves as a potential public gathering place can attract groups that will (or appear to have wish to) cause trouble. I've seen that at similar places like Milpitas Square on a late Friday or Saturday night where a large groups of young Asian males gather and, therefore, can appear intimidating. read more

Albiet a little more expensive than other Asian centers in Fremont, Oakland, & the South Bay, it's a little more upscale too. Clean, well maintained, and good service - it's a great community of small businesses and I have yet to find something I don't like. Our fave Asian bakery (Kee Wah), dim sum restaurant (Koi), and amazing dentist (Dublin Family Dentistry)...are all in one plaza. There are also a few other great foodie finds - like the popular Snowflake, Pamir (nom Afgahn food), Osaka Ramen, and Halo Shabu Shabu. Dumb me, poor, stupid, dumb me; today I came upon an epiphany of the difference between centers and malls. Guess what that is!? A simple variance, I tell you! I cannot describe how embarrassing it is to not know the huge separate meaning behind the words. Malls have an indoor variable while centers are outdoor spots. With that said, let's move on. Ulferts is quite small.... and boasts a "recently finished" look from this summer. Its construction began in spring 2005, and there are open lots still awaiting opening, so look forward to new joints burgeoning forth in this lucious shopping center. It sits right next to Hacienda Crossings. Oh yeah, how can I forget?? I gave it one star because the ambiance is flat broke while the prices are soaring high compared to other cities. It's a wonder how Milpitas and Dublin were voted a couple days ago among the top 10 safest cities to live in. read more

Parking has become a big problem here. Not enough space to part and the customers are no longer allowed to part at the back because the lot belongs to a private property and they have patrol security enforcing it. Typical Ulferts Center with too many shops and with insufficient parking space. At the end, the customers won't go back and the shops suffer. read more

An all Asian mall in Dublin... well, it's not much. Mostly restaurants that all close by 3pm, all for the office workers that work in the anonymous mirrored highrises nearby. I expected more. It's kinda dinky. There's ramen, shabu shabu, korean tofu, Thai, Vietnamese, Macau, dim sum, a bakery, a pearl tapioca shop, a medicinal herb shop, an ugly modern furniture shop, a couple of expensive jewelry stores. One had a big sign in the window for a hello kitty ring in diamonds (or rhinestones?). On the way there I drove by an Arlen Ness motorcycle showroom and an antique auto showroom and these looked more interesting so next time I'm going there instead. read more

1. Parking It's horrible. The parking lot will be the most dangerous part of your trip there. This is one of the most violent parking lots I have experienced. It is very small - you will have trouble finding parking during peak hours. Pedestrians will waddle into your path on their cell phones and frown at you when you stop inches away from their sorry little tushes. Minivans will stop in the middle of the dropoff point and unload half of Dublin's population, conduct chats with family members, and pick up food, seemingly oblivious to the jam building up behind. Resist the urge to park in the Bank of America lots because they will tow you after a warning. There is parking around the back. 2. People Caucasians are visibly not welcome here, and the population that frequents the outlet makes that very clear with their stares. In fact, my close buddy grew up in Asia and avoids Ulferts like the plague because of the narrow minded patrons. A pity, but patrons are part of the overall experience too. 3. Shops Very few of the shops actually appealed to me. The food is the main attraction. 4. Atmosphere Hectic. I wish it was more welcoming or comfortable. Overall, this is not a place where I am very comfortable being at for more than half an hour. It seems to cater to people looking for a quick bite. read more

My my...seems like many old timers can't stand the influx of immigrants in the Tri-Valley...the Asian community is expanding fast in West Dublin and not all are fans of Applebees and Wendys. This mall brings an alternative to The Shops on Tassajara where you can find a bunch of fast food outlets. It offers a good variety of restaurants, I have tried 3, all pretty good. (Thai, Sushi and Ramen). The hairdresser is also providing good service and there is a Quickly Bubble Tea. It will get even better as the spots on the second floor get filled. There are only a few restaurants that I have gone back to; Singapore Old Town Cafe, Thai Basil, and Kee Wah Bakery. And I'm very excited that Quickly has opened up now. But my husband and I are very dissatified with some of the customer service at the other restaurants. The Korean Tofu BBQ restaurant, next to Thai Basil, shut the door on us at 9:00pm. The "Open" signs were still on, and their actually closing time was 9:30pm. I grew up in the restaurant business. It looks unprofessional and discriminatory to turn away customers, especially when the kitchen is still open and still serving food to others. The owner wasn't even apologetic.
