While there's no longer music that plays in the morning and the main street is now closed to traffic, Broadway Plaza is still one of my favorite places to be in Walnut Creek. There's a good mix of restaurants, clothing, and jewelry shops, most of which are high quality brands and the mall constantly stays fresh and vibrant although I do wish they had more restrooms outside of the ones below Industrious. Some weekends they have a maker fare or live music, but most of the time the fountain is just central to the comfortable seating area, that during the winter gets some decor for the holidays. All in all, I really do love this area and still find myself coming back year after year. read more

I came to get some steps in and walk around the area and check out some stores. I didn't realize the number of stores that have been closed and new ones open. I noticed many more jewelry related stores are open. Old Navy is gone. Gap was gone first and then Banana Republic. Now no more Old Navy. Athleta is still around and I notice many other fitness clothing stores. I remember Louis Vitton store open, now is gone. Hope more new stores will come. read more

The new parking system which makes you give all sorts of personal information even if you're not staying more than three hours insures I will never return, or at least not until they go back to their old way, which worked perfectly fine. I don't get it. The new way doesn't collect any more money (same rates and times) but does ask for all sorts of intrusive info. Why "fix" something that was not broken. Broadway Plaza was our first stop after landing at SFO & picking up our rental car! We had a wedding to attend later that day and needed to pick up some goodies that I forgot to pack LOL. It's a very nice outdoor shopping mall in Walnut Creek, with around 80 shops. We arrived at opening hours for stores so it was pretty quiet when we visited. Easy to navigate and they have free parking, up to 3hrs! They have a lot of popular stores (Zara, Macy's, Nordstrom, etc). Overall, had a pleasant experience here and we were in and out ;)) read more

Broadway Plaza instituted a new app-based parking payment system that everybody will hate. Nobody asked for this, and nobody wants it. Nobody wants to spend ten minutes filling out forms on their phone, giving out reams of personal information and a credit card number just to park. And nobody wants to download yet another stupid single-use app: I'm looking at you, Metropolis. In an age when malls and in-person shopping are dying, how could whoever is in charge at Broadway Plaza think it was a good idea to make going to the mall more difficult and unpleasant?? And aren't the store owners angry about this; do they want fewer customers?? The other mall that I go to instituted a similar parking system, and it has gotten nothing but complaints. The parking was so annoying that I actively avoided that mall after, and now I'll probably go to Broadway Plaza less often too. So. Stupid. The mall itself is lovely. read more

Metropolis parking charged my card 9.99 upon scanning QR code. I stayed less than 2 hours. Attendant at the exit said to just exit and it would be refunded, System shows me still at the garage and meter running. Fix your system- your charge is unauthorized. read more

Outdoor shopping mall [Walnut Creek CA] After lunch at Gott's Roadside in Walnut Creek we walked across the way to the Broadway Plaza, an open air shopping center in the East Bay... it was Mother's Day and a lot of people were out and about taking advantage of the beautiful Sunday weather. It's an outdoor plaza and I'm sure it wouldn't be as pleasant on a rainy day or in the height of summer. It got pretty warm as the afternoon progressed. There were lots of stores including luxury hoity-toity brand retailers and a health club, also restaurants and coffee shops. The exterior is very pretty and one thing we noticed that was different from other shopping places I've been to were the public piano's strategically placed about the shopping center. Also pleasant to see were sculptures, beautiful topiaries and European-style fountains. Street parking and there is also a parking garage available. I've always enjoyed shopping at Broadway Plaza. I admit the old plaza was nicer and had more charm, but it is what it is. One change that has kept me away is the paid parking. I usually am able to shop and leave before needing to pay, however, if you want to shop and have a meal you will end up needing to pay. With Apple as one of the tenants it makes no sense for parking not to take Apple Pay. That was a mess trying to leave BECAUSE I DON'T CARRY CARDS. Won't be back until this changes. read more

A very nice outdoor shopping mall in downtown Walnut Creek!! The day I came here, there were all kinds of booths set up outside, a few with the future of electric cars. I actually spent more time there than in any of the stores. But, there are lots of high end stores, lots of restaurants, and lots of activity here. There's a really nice water fountain where people take a break at, with benches surrounding it. I'm not really a shopper, but there's plenty to do in this whole area besides that, this is a very lively plaza, especially on sunny weekends!! read more

Parking garage free 0-3 hours. Loved this! And is next to the plaza. At first we were trying to avoid the garage but were forced to continue forward and saw their sign that said you can exit or park but you gotta continue forward. So we did :) so if you're trying to cut through to exit, you still need to get a ticket bc it's a one-way. Nice stores like L'occitane, Nordstrom, etc. All outdoors so may need to bring an umbrella. Wish there was a map so I could've seen all the stores there. It was raining on/off so we didn't venture off too far and no where to really sit outside bc of wet spots. Overall we stayed 2 hours 12 min, per our ticket. Nice to walk around. read more

Pretty good shopping and a really beautiful mall. Downside - they don't seem to take safety seriously. There are constant E bikes going through the mall and apparently Security tells them that they can do that as long as "they don't do anything stupid". Last time I checked E bikes were actually illegal driving through pedestrian walkways. Clearly Security needs to do a lot more at this mall to keep people safe. My son almost got ran over by one of these stupid E bikes. read more

I absolutely adore Broadway Plaza! Anytime that I'm in the mood to go shopping in Walnut Creek, I usually stop by Broadway Plaza first. They're known for their higher end stores, but you can find some great deals here. I'd say that my most frequented stores here are Macy's, Sephora, and Victoria's Secret. However, you might find in the Apple, Nordstroms, and See's Candies stores a few times a year if you're lucky. I definitely don't shop as much in the stores as I used to (or in stores much in general because of COVID times). But when I get the urge, Broadway Plaza is the perfect place for some retail therapy. Sometimes, I don't even come here to shop. I come here to EAT, baby!!! There are lots of good restaurants and eateries here too. I really love what they did with this place after the remodel some years ago. Parking is always pretty easy and they have several rest benches and tables out to relax and chill in the plaza. My favorite time to come here are during the holidays! They always have it decorated up so nicely and they usually have the best deals and activities going on. The plaza is always bustling on the weekends, but I've realized that most of my trips here has been during the weekdays afterwork when it's not too crazy. It's funny because I feel like I often take Broadway Plaza for granted when so many people come from outside of CoCo county just to shop and eat here. It's a great local destination for shopping and exploring. I was really shocked to hear about the mob that took place here a few months ago, but it seems like the plaza is recovering just fine. Very quite for a holiday season weekday. Ever since the 80+ looters stormed Nordstrom last Month, there are large barriers preventing traffic from driving down by the stores in the plaza, but this makes foot traffic and shoppers have more room to walk and spread out during busy hours. Plaza itself: Lots of trendy shops that you expect to see in an upscale outdoor mall. Lululemon, Apple, Banana Republic, Macys, Nordstrom, Allen Edmonds, bath and body works, the usual. A nice selection of stores to fit everyones needs. Parking: Large parking structures both in front and behind the plaza center. Free parking in those structures if less than 3 hours. So be aware of time spent if eating out and shopping. Overall: A typical outdoor mall with the usual anchor stores Macy's and Nordstrom, but really not much else. read more

We met a friend for lunch, shopped Nordstrom & Macy's and had a hair service. We had to pay $25 because we're 5 minutes over the 5 hour cutoff due to the long line behind someone having issues at the gate. I can understand paying exorbitant fees in SF, but our little town of Walnut Creek? Unacceptable. read more

I love the upscale stores. Nordstrom alone was a reason to visit. Great restaurants, great retail. And THEN, you put a giant LAS VEGAS level brightness sign in a pedestrian area where people experience from mere yards or feet away. And if that's not aggressive enough to get your attention, you make it flash with variable levels of brightness to grab your attention. Completely inappropriate for a mall. More suitable for a billboard 1/2 mile away from the road and even then it's too bright. Are you trying to drive us all to shop online? It's like noise pollution in airports, or someone spraying fragrance on you.....now we have visual pollution at the most offensive level possible. Who thought this one up? It feels like a masculine, aggressive assault on the senses. Please make it stop. I will seriously not shop here anymore. Even in the daytime it's way too bright. read more

Broadway Plaza is the best mall I've ever been to. There is an outdoor area where kids can play and have fun; which is much better than Sunvalley Mall and Stoneridge Mall. Stores, play area, walkways, really nice! Nordstrom, Nordstrom Café, Macy's, and Apple are good places as well. Love this place and will come back again. read more

Love, love, love this outdoor plaza. The area is always clean, nice, and well maintained whenever I'm in the area. You get a variety of stores here - clothes, electronics, desserts, etc. And right where S Main St meets Olympic Blvd, you have a nice outdoor area with seats and, if you're lucky you'll get some live music on some weekends. The good: Marilyn Monroe once said: "happiness is not in money but in shopping." My husband doesn't understand how I can shop for hours on end and I don't understand how he instantly starts yawning the moment his foot steps into a clothing store. This is a nice and upscale outdoor shopping area. I liked that there were interesting stores that I don't normally see in other places. Many of the shops were similar to the shops that also exist in Santana Row in San Jose (i.e. Cocola Bakery, Marine Layer, Quay, and Makers Market). The areas in between shops is very spacious but also interspersed with streets where cars cross. There are high end stores but also affordable spots like Old Navy. They have a free tram that takes you downtown. It is very clean and orderly here. The larger department stores here include Nordstrom's & Macy's. The bad: There's this one "playground-ish" area with a metal dinosaur. It's cool but I wish there was more of a playground area that kids could play in. It's definitely more of a mall area for adults. There aren't a lot of restaurant options. The interesting: First three hours of parking in the underground garage is free. read more

It's the equivalent of The Grove in Los Angeles. It really is a nice outdoor mall and a great way to get steps in while doing some shopping. I parked on Valencia in one of the parking structures (for the "bargain" price of $2.50/hr) and took the half-block walk. The Apple store stood out immediately. Didn't really need anything there, so I kept walking. I found plenty of eateries I might be interested in eating at in the future. It's a lot smaller than I thought, but it is a great mall for big and small buy alike. There's the usual and common Macy's and Nordstrom. I wasn't really in the mood to shop, but the rest of my party was and lucked out on a few things from a few shops. One plus from this place is that it's dog friendly. Expect an instant headache when looking for parking in the area, especially on a Saturday during the Holidays. I parked in one of the Public Garages (The sign said 222 spaces available) but it still took forever to find a spot. Broadway Plaza is like an outdoor mall. There is a huge ZARA and H&M plus other popular stores like Apple, Bath and Body Works and LUSH. The lines to get in the stores were long because the stores are only allowing 20% customer capacity due to Covid. The Plaza was pretty crowded while I was there. People weren't social distancing and a few people were walking around without masks. Aside from the negative, I admired the Christmas decor. I dread driving around in that part of Walnut Creek. I will only return to the Plaza because of ZARA, H&M, and Boudin SF. Other than that, I'd rather shop somewhere else. read more

Excellent shopping area. Stumbled upon it randomly on the way home and I can't believe I never went sooner. It's a beautiful outdoor shopping center with lots of nice stores and areas go walk around and sit. I felt safe while visiting as many people were here with their children and pets. The parking garage is convenient and I believe the first 3 hours are free. The bathrooms were clean as well. The Banana Republic is probably the nicest BR store I've ever seen. I do love the way broadway plaza seamlessly blends into surrounding downtown Walnut Creek. It's always busy and lively here and makes one believe that retail could actually be thriving again. Walnut Creek seasonally places pianos around the downtown area, which are painted and open for use. At broadway plaza, truly a mixed blessing. While the piano near the Starbucks routinely attracts rather good players , the one at the Apple Store fountain makes one hope it inspires the company for better noise cancellation. Once again, as is so often the case, parents of young children believe it is their right and privilege to invade everyone else's space with their offspring and fling them on the piano seat, letting their hands bash innocent keys that did nothing to deserve such torture. And neither did the rest of us. Instead of being able to relax in peace at the plaza, enjoying the sound of water and birds and leaves and a breeze, child after child is thrown at a piano with a cellphone shoved in their face over and over to the horror of the unafflicted childless nearby who really cannot comprehend what goes through such parents minds that drive themselves to such degradation. What was once safely confined to those still willing to be friends with parents who had a slide machine, is now, thanks to the advent of posting everything on social media, all of our great tragedy. The Broadway Plaza is a nice, safe spot to shop and eat. Parking is relatively easy and ample. The stores are posh. The people are fun. I will often go to the Broadway Plaza and just wander around on a relaxing weekend afternoon. It gets crowded - many others have the same idea. The layout is meandering. There are a few large anchor department stores, and in between are various smaller shops and eateries. If you plan on doing street parking, bring some $$ or a credit card to pay the meters. I usually just end up parking in the Broadway Plaza garage. The lower floor is shaded by the upper floor, so your car won't get too hot on a warm summer day. Its a short walk to Main St. I usually end up strolling over that way for food. There's nice little restaurants that spill out on to the sidewalk. During COVID, most everything is open. read more

I haven't been here since before the remodel and for the first time I perused the shops and looked around. It's a nice/decent area. I used to go to Yogurt Park and to the Popcorn place and I miss them, but this area has a cool charm. It's bigger than Bay Street and some of the shops are meh, but that has nothing to do with Broadway Plaza. I'm just not a fan of some of the stores there. But it is a nice area and I do like going. I appreciate the parking there too! It's much better than Bay Street, so even if I go, take a stroll, and leave it's not a waste of time. read more

Last Sunday I went to this mall with my cousin. We both love this mall. It's a very nice outdoor mall with many of our favorite stores. I love the Nordstrom, Macys, Anthropologie and Free People. Of course there are several more stores that I like. There are so many great restaurants nearby too. We ate at True Food Kitchen and it was delicious. This is just great mall. It's especially nice to go on a nice day. Last Sunday the weather was just right. There are many expensive stores, but there are also stores that are moderately priced. The employees I encountered at the different stores were friendly. I have been going to this mall for many years and I still plan to continue shopping here. read more

This place has IMPROVED so much over the years. I remember over 10 years ago (OMG time flies), there was nothing much to see or enjoy as it was just a basic generic look with only the big buildings of the 2 big names (Macy's & Nordstrom) catching my attention! Fast forward many years later to now, the place now catches my attention everywhere as I look. The whole newly renovated set-up and layout of the overall outdoor mall is just INVITING and makes you wanna hang out (if not shop) just to enjoy the fresh-air and the nice up-scale and classy looking set up, and more! Now, I don't just see the 2 big names (Macy's & Nordstrom), but a 3rd has been added - Neiman Marcus! They also have other commonly known shops such as Apple, Banana Republic, J. Crew, Gap, Old Navy, Zara, H&M, etc. Located in downtown Walnut Creek, can be a little hectic (as for most downtowns in urban areas) getting there with all the one ways, busy traffic, and all. But, they do have a parking garage with free parking for the first 3 hours - after that it's per hour charge. read more

This is a beautiful bustling shopping plaza with a plethora of stores and restaurants. Ample parking is available off Broadway Rd, free for the first three hours. The reason I give this three stars is that they must have a data blocker in the entire shopping area. Neither my husband, nor I, were able to get online or send/receive texts. It became an issue because I was shopping for shoes for my kids and I was unable to send pictures, connect via call or FaceTime with them to figure out what to get, which was incredibly frustrating. We were forced to get on the Broadway Plaza Guest wifi, and even then it was too slow. In order to get on the Guest wifi, one must accept their privacy and marketing terms, and you basically have to agree to them knowing what you're doing when you're there. Secondly, I was finally able to get on the Nordstrom and Macy's Guest wifi to communicate with my kids, although it was still cumbersome and, again, you have to agree to them collecting your personal information. What if there was some emergency and you needed to call someone? Forget it! Even in the parking garage. Finally, when I was out of range, I could not access the Yelp app until I deleted my website data and cookies, so lord even knows what gets loaded onto your phone when you use the wifi there. BEWARE!!! These guys lost out on some sales today. With all the annoying wifi issues, we finally just left. Check out this plaza and shopping if you're heading there to shop and don't require any outside communication with anyone while you're there. read more

There are two or four at the elevators and virtually none anywhere else compare that to the more than a dozen spaces no extra has for picking things up. I am torn between 4.5 start to 5 but that doesn't matter. I came here after hearing about this place from a close friend and from co-workers at a former workplace. Now that it's 2021, I came here for the first time. I love the Anthropology store. I am really surprised to know that Broadway Plaza is not too long of a trip from my flat in San Jose. This outdoor mall is also a good place to exercise. I must declare it's a lot popular than I thought especially at the fact I never bothered to drop by before 2021. If you have traveled to Southern California then you can say this place is a mix between Victoria Gardens in the RC and Santana Row in Santa Clara County. Note: Don't fear the parking garage, if you stay with in the free park time then it's a smooth sailing shopping trip. Hints: If you don't like Boudins, Cheesecake factory or Pacific Catch, don't worry. There are a lot of restaurants nearby on the streets past the movie theatre. It's a wide range of cute Ma and Pa food joints. If you are taking BART then take the free 4 bus. Yes that is a thing. BART could save you the stress of searching for parking. Warning regarding the pandemic: Please get your vaccine because it can get real crowded here so if you want a socially distanced mall don't come here. read more

With such a beautiful facelift, the shopping experience is tainted by the annoying hawkers of European beauty products. Standing outside of their stores offering a sample of products, they approach the slippery solicitation line of either homeless panhandling or sex. Insisting to come hither with the line, "I have something special for you..." it's funny at first. After repeated pleas to enter the store, it now becomes juvenile. read more
