The RV park is really nice. Lots of trees for shade; but the trees interfere with Internet. They do offer wi-fi, which worked great for TV. But anything computer or cellular related was extremely SLOW!!! They do offer a huge playground area, miniature Golf, volleyball, pickleball, and basketball courts, as well as Frisbee Golf. Many sites are gravel, but are pretty level. They are close together though. If you like your neighbors close, you won't mind this. But we felt they were just a bit too close. There are some Seasonal sites; but a lot of empty sites too. So plenty of room for those looking for short stays. We enjoyed our stay here & met quite a few friendly people. We will most likely stay here again. read more

Nice campground. Very well maintained. Spaces are super close together and the best spots are for the monthly/seasonal campers. Oh and did I mention that there is a rule not to wash clothes in your camper. Reasonable rates. Internet with Verizon and AT&T non existent. Park WIFi intermittent. read more

We were offered 21 free nights for listening to a 2-hour sales pitch. Venture Out purchased Blackhawk Campground and is turning it into a members-only campground. Buyer beware! Everyone was overly nice until we told them we were not purchasing a camping membership. Within an hour, they accused my boys of stealing and harassing other campers. The next morning, they claimed that our dogs had attacked someone even though they were staked into the ground right outside our camper and I had been sitting there with them drinking coffee. It was pretty obvious that they were harassing us because we did not buy into their membership. We camp almost every other weekend in summer and have been all over the country camping. I can honestly say that we have never had such a miserable experience. read more

Amazing two nights stay, so quiet and so beautiful. The grounds are well kept with huge oak trees everywhere with great shaded areas, spots are level and big enough for whatever rv you have. Store has a few goodies, $2 mini golf, horseshoes is fun and staff is very friendly. Definitely wish we had our Kayak or paddle boards with us, the beach area is perfect. Definitely will be back if in the area again. read more

The shower houses are very old and run down (but they were clean), there are no towel hooks anywhere except the broken stubs of ones. The motion lights are set too short, I got left in the dark while sitting in the toilet stall, not fun. They do have nice long pull through sites, but they are a bit tight/close to the rig next to you. Large place with lots of nice trees, though. read more

This is a great private campground, I've camped here a handful of times since the 90's. The showers are clean, the staff are friendly, playground for the kids... they have scheduled events. My favorite site is the group site off the river which can accommodate several tents and cars. read more

They tried to put us on a muddy, up hill back in. It was obvious that previous, persons had been stuck and had a difficult time getting in or out of this site. I was not willing to even make an attempt to back up this hill and try to level my unit. I insisted on another site and wad told Park was full. They allowed us to use a site away from the mud and we backed in and set up. Very pretty park in nice area. Won't camp,here again. read more

If I could rate a zero I would. I'd had booked two campsites next to each other, at a specific location in the campground. I called in April to reserve these two locations. I had to pay one nights deposit for each, so $60 at the time. My friend had booked sites there as well, as we were all going the same weekend. She was having some issues with her sites the week we were going camping, and there was some confusion. So I called in to clear anything up, which was the week we were supposed to go camping. When I called in I spoke with an Elanor, she could not find my reservation and said that the camp sites I reserved already had somebody on it who could not move. I requested that the manager call me so I can clear this up. No call, but Elanor called me back, and she was super rude and inpatient with me. They found my reservation under a different name. But the sites I requested were not available. She said they do not guarantee sites. I requested a call from manager again. Two days later I get a call back but from someone else, not the manager. She states that they guarantee a site but never guarantee requested sites. That when I booked, they should have wrote do no move on the paper work, how am I supposed to know that. Then I say ok, I understand you policy, but why was I not called to advise that site was not available. I booked in April, it is now July, that would have given me time to see if I wanted to go somewhere else on the campground or cancel all together. I am now out of the 5 day cancel range to get a refund. She told me that they don't do that an any campsite does. This is not true because I camp a lot. I would have canceled right there but my friends had shopped and spent a lot of money. So we went that weekend. They were very rude, once they knew who I was. Did not offer any kind of compensation. I chose two new sites that were near each other, but not next to each other. Then, they only allow two adults to each site. One friend was leaving, the next day and another friend coming in. They made a huge deal about it, and tried to charge extra for her. I have been camping many places, never experienced the treatment I have at this place. My suggestion drive a bit further, and get a better experience at campsites in surrounding areas!! read more

This was a nice campground that was easy to get in and out of. The check in process was easy and they were very friendly. We stayed in a back in site that was a little close to the next camper. The campground has room to expend and it would be nicer if the sites were a little more spread out. There are a lot of seasonal and long term campers there so it's a pretty quiet place. In the weekend the tent campers came in so it got a little noisier but not terrible. If we stayed here again we would want a pull through full hook up spot. We were in site 157 and there was no shade. read more

If you plan on staying at this campground with your family for the weekend forget it, they treat you like a red headed step child if you are not a long term guest.We paid for three sites and had 12 adults 3 kids and a dog. The rules state that you are only allowed one tent per sit online,which we didn't see and they did not tell us this when we reserved the site. If we knew this we would have brought bigger tents instead of 2 little ones! We had to take down a tent and have 2 people per site sleep in their cars! The management harassed us all night long. When we called to reserve the only thing they warned us about was 2 cars per site,which we had. They also charged us extra for ppl on our site even tho we paid the original fee and had 4 adults per site. I have no idea where this extra person fee was coming from. We were sitting by the fire catching up with family we have not seen in forever due to the pandemic and we were harassed all night long we were 8 adults talking with two kids making s'mores we even had the music off. The kids next door (4 year old) got yelled at for having a power wheel. We will not be coming back or recommending this campground to anyone. The older couple who checked us in treated us kindly and with respect they were the best thing about the place! read more

This a beautiful place. The phone service is very poor on Verizon and very poor local channel reception. The security guy/maintenance person is very rude. My son was here visiting and his wife came to pick him up. The office was closed so she could not check in. It was dark and we told her to park in back of our motorhome as we are not allowed to park on grass, This man rudely walked by and made nasty gestures and comments to them. Its sad cause the place is very pretty and quiet. we would not let my daughter in law walk alone to our place as it is not lit very well. I cannot recommend this park because I am too old to be treated like that. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and lots of activities for everyone to get involved in. Perfect location on the river to go tubing/kayaking down. I would definitely recommend for a camping getaway! read more
