My party of 3 came in at around 1:30 as I was told to make a reservation, although no one checked me in which is fine. It was pretty lively for a Sunday but still ample amount of room to pick and choose from. There were various apples to pick from & they were all very unique and delicious. I've never went apple picking before but this was such a beautiful experience & I will definitely make this a reoccurring visit every year with the family. I talked to the woman running this farm & she told me that she is the 6th generation running the farm and it has been open for 165 years, what a blessing this family has provided us with!

I left very unimpressed. We'd been wanting to go apple picking this season, and we settled for Blackman Homestead Farm since it was just a little bit less of a drive than a different apple orchard that I've been to in the south towns. It had been a weekend of poor, rainy weather, though I didn't expect that to affect the crowd here at all. I figured it would be busy regardless, and that it was. You pretty much have free reign when it comes to picking apples here - you can choose any size bag you want, pick as many as you want. They weigh the bags for you in the end anyway and determine the price that way. I guess I was expecting more of an immersive experience, and this was not so much. The apple orchards to pick from are literally right in front of you as you walk up, so it could be fairly easy to just pick a ton from the first tree you see and call it a day. Quite a few of the trees were off limit for picking, which is fine, as there's more than enough apples around to be picking, but people in my party found the signs a little confusing and weren't sure of which apples were untouchable. They have pumpkins here, already picked. I had read in one of the other Yelp reviews on here that they do hayrides to a pumpkin patch, but when we asked about them, a woman told us that they weren't in season yet. Um, it's October?? This is definitely the season? They had some very sad looking animals here, too. The horse's pen was crazy filled with droppings, and there was a sign with the turkey pen about thanksgiving dinner. (I mean, I eat bird but it's still super sad to go to a farm and stare your dinner in the face when this is supposed to be a fun family outing.) We actually ended up leaving this place and going to another farm to pick pumpkins from the patch, and had such a better time there. Eating the apples we picked here in the following weeks, they were okay. Not the best I've had. That being said, I won't be returning.

Support your local farms! Came to Blackman homestead farm for apple picking to celebrate the beginning of fall. I love how we entered the farm it they were so welcoming since it was our first time there. They have so many good variety of apples from which we can pick, and pumpkins too. Their farm is so big and peaceful, had such a wonderful time picking apples. They also have a stall for juices, butters, chilli and sauces. We got their apple cherry juice, pear vanilla and maple pumpkin butters. They have such reasonable prices and good for the value! They also have bags of apples and grapes already scaled for purchase! We wanted to try their apple cider but they ran out around closing time, so be sure to get it earlier!! So glad we came to Blackman for apple picking this year!

Plenty of already picked apples!! Bins full.

Enjoyed sunshine and autumn day at this lovely farm with my daughter and mother yesterday. Nice family outing. But disappointing as there were no apples on the trees left for picking. My daughter was most disappointed. She was quick to comment: THEY picked them all mom! There were bins and bins full of already picked apples to sell at $1/lb. Take my advice call ahead to make sure there are apples to pick if this is your intention! Since we were short on time we did not venture to find another nearby orchard where apples were available for picking. If I had planned better I would've done some research on yelp! I bought some apple cider $3.75 for half gallon jug. Mom bought the apple butter 3 jars for $20 (otherwise one jar for $7). We bought some already picked apples too. Bring your $ this place is bit pricey. After visiting with the goat, we went home with our treats. I'll have to call ahead to another farm this coming weekend and see if we can get "back on the Apple wagon."

You can expect: full-fledged orchards with different varieties of apples, wine tastings (on weekends sometime) from Chateau Buffalo, teepees and a kids play area with lots of hay, fresh cider, slushies, grapes, pumpkins and a plethora of turkey's that they are getting ready for Thanksgiving (which I believe you can still preorder). Lots of people come here, so sometimes finding an abundance of apples is challenging depending on the time of year you come. You may have to climb a ladder (at your own risk ;)) to get some, but if you stay around here long enough and listen to the orientation at the beginning of the apple-picking; you'll come away with some goods. Apples are very reasonable...at 79 cents a pound or so for the ones you pick. This is a great family farm that needs to be on your list to get to before the Fall season is up. So......how about them apples?

This place is popular for families for Apple picking and I can understand why, this farm is the word FALL in a nutshell. You can check out a picking schedule online, but for me , I just go on a nice weather day (which was this Sunday). But despite the Bills game being on, giant groups of families and couples came out to get apples. All aisles of trees are clearly marked which varieties they are, many are fairly easy to reach, but there are ladders nearby for apple grabbing. Then, you stand in line to get weighed and pay (they take both cash and card which is nice). They also make an apple cider slushee which do I dare say is on par with Mayer Brothers (sadly no donuts) . Also, they make their own cider, juices, and fruit butters which is worth checking out. I also appreciate the several parking attendants guiding us in/out and where to park. I didn't see anyone there who didn't have a smile on their face (customers and employees alike). Worth the 40 minute drive out to Lockport to pick! I also made a very delicious apple dessert with them today!

Checked it out, but closed to retail business and little sign of activities. Trees seemed to have be picked clean. Season is over.

I live not even a mile down the road from this business, have been going there for the last 8 years spending a great amount of money and starting today they have lost my business. I bought $160.00 dollars worth of plants on 5/31, 1 out of the 6 Zinnia's I purchased immediately died within 2 days due to a broken stem that wasn't noticeable at purchase. Called them on 6/2, dealt with Amanda who was honestly the sweetest, kindest person I've ever dealt with besides the gentleman that owns the place and she saw the plant and even agreed with me that it was dead and let me exchange it. I planted the second one the same way as the 5 that are thriving and here we are 10 days later and my plant id app is saying it's sick meaning diseased. So thinking I would just exchange it again so they could see it.... Well this time when I called I got an older lady who literally refused to give me her name and stated "I do not need to give you my name" after I asked for her name at the end of the call because one she never introduced herself like I did and the tone of her voice and the way she talked to me was completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. This older woman told me "we don't do refunds so we're not going to give you another free plant, you are lucky you even got one free plant, for all we know it could have snapped at the base from the wind or you planted it wrong and all of our Zinnias are all healthy and doing great so obviously you did something wrong and killed the plant..." but even though there planted in window boxes and the rest are all thriving. I have spent thousands of dollars at this place and unfortunately with them I will never step foot again in that place. If the older gentleman saw me in person along with my significant other, he'd know exactly who we were. Also, if there are supposed signs in your place of business saying no refunds even though I'm not asking for a refund then maybe you should inform your employees regarding it. That older woman who answered my call should never be allowed to answer any calls nor work in a place of business that encounters customers. Absolutely unacceptable

I spotted this place on my way to check out the Sanborn Sunflowers, and decided to stop and pick up…read moresome produce on the way home, as well as see what it was all about! This is an awesome little farmers market that have a ton of locally grown fruit and veggies, as well as jellies, jams, dressings, honey, and syrup! It seems to be set up in what could have once been a garage, and has a pair of aisles where you'll find all the produce. There is also a couple of fridges toward the back which serve to keep some of the more perishable stuff on ice before they're sold. They are a seasonal market, generally open from around June to December. They'll have your annual goodies here - my first visit yielded peaches and apples (even though they're not quite in season yet), as well as a variety of veggies like cucumbers, hot and green peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Too early for the fall & winter stuff just yet, but I see some photos of their pumpkins, squash, cider, and Christmas trees from last year on their Facebook page. I was happy to be able to pick up some ears of sweet corn, a cucumber, and about 6 apples, all for a whopping $5. Seriously. You could never get that kind of a deal at your grocery store! I don't live anywhere close to here, but I seriously feel like I'll be making the trip every now and then because you can't beat the cost, the Farmers Market experience, or supporting your local farms! Day 20
