I got my windows tinted here and they did a good job. The tint is really clean. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because they took almost 2 hours longer than they told me to finish the job. But the price was really affordable. I called around and they had the most competitive prices. Because of that, I didn't mind the extra wait. Third time is NOT the charm. First car done by Danny, 3 series BMW. Good job. Second car done by Danny, 5 series BMW good job. Third car done by Danny, Mercedes 350CLK, Which he was 2 hours late for an appointment that HE made for me $250 worth of scratch damage that after I sent him a bill for the repair ....NO response or payment. Small claims court for Danny. He has complete idiots working for him and I really should have known better when I saw his stellar crew and their antics while they were scratching up my car. I was a bit skeptical of this place with all the negative reviews, but it was close to home so I thought I would give it a shot. Went in and got a quote for two cars which came to be $350 total. Not a bad price if you ask me. Made an appointment and was on my way. On appointment day, I showed up and the doors were closed and locked. There was another customer there who looked like she had been waiting a while. After about 30 minutes the guys showed up and got us all checked in. Didn't apologize for being late, but that the only negative I have for this place. Other than tardiness, they did a great job tinting the windows. The job came with a 7 year warranty which is nice. I was surprised to see all the negative feedback for this place when I looked them up to get a phone number to make an appointment. I've worked in Gilroy for the past ten years and they have tinted all of my cars VW Jetta, 4Runner, 330ci, 540, XC70, and most recently my 1 day old 2013 Chevy Volt. While I do agree that these guys are not always the most punctual bunch you have to understand they tint car windows for a living, so don't expect banker's hours. Bottom line, they do great work at an awesome price; I've never had a bad experience with the exception of waiting for them when they run a little late. read more

This place is awesome! i just bought a brand new car and took it here to get my windows tinted. I called a day before hand and made an appointmen for the following day @ 11. I showed up right at 11 and they were right on schedule. They said to come back at 1 to pick the car back upo. Because i was soo excited to see my new tinted windows on my brand new car i showed up right at 1! my car was done and waiting for me. It looks beautiful! I been here a few times, my brother referred me to this place. They do a good job got my lexus is300 done here and coming back to get my civic tinted. They have reasonable prices compared to other locations and they do a good job, yes they dont answer the phones all the time or get back the messages right away but its worth calling over and over till someone picks up to get the work done LOL ide recommend this place. Danny and associate did a wonderful job on my Toyota Prius C. Their price is very reasonable. I would recommend to my friends and family. For better result, do not roll down window After a week until it is fully cured. I leave my car outside toward the sun light to have the tinted cured faster. Do not be alarm when you pick up your car as the tint are install. You will see very small bubble but it will disappear. You can choose any type of shade and they deliver as promise. This place sucks BIG TIME. They don't know how to keep a apointment. I went the day before my appointment and they put down on their appointment book for 2:30 Friday. I got there at 2:25 the next day Friday, at my appointment time and they tell me that they forgot about me and took in all the cars they could do for that day. They asked me if I could come back the next day, Saturday. This was the third time I had been there and I don't live in Gilroy. These punks look like they are walking around stoned all day. I must say I'm very disappointed with Black Out Tinting. They not only took seven & a half hours to tint five windows (which was suppose to only take three hours to complete), but they also managed to damage the back passenger window, it no longer rolls down. Great job guys, you lost some customers that day. These guys should also learn to clean the water they use to tint, all windows have visible dirt between glass and the tint. Gross. read more

Went there on Saturday to have my 7 windows tinted on my 2009 Volvo S60 and they were busy when I went there unannounced and Danny asked me to come back in hour. When I returned they started working on my vehicle right away and it took just over two hours and the tint looks awesome on my car. I called another place in town earlier in the morning before I went here and the other guy quoted me $200 to $220 for the back windows and Danny quoted me $160 and because the price and the money saved by not going to the other was nice so I decided to to go for the whole shebang of all 7 windows and oh yeah... the tint looks spectacular. read more

These guys are actually very good. I went in and got a quote to have 5 windows tinted. My car's a Juke so pretty small windows but these guys met the best price I was given from another shop so, I went with them. There were quite a few other shops but they quoted me a way higher price than these guys. Set up an appointment for the next morning, 11:00 as I don't think they start until 10:00, and they called me at 1:30 saying it was done. Pretty fast and they did an excellent job. Plus told me if there are any problems just bring it back and they will fix it. No problems so far and I'm totally happy with the job. Definitely recommend them and will be taking 2 more cars in for tinting. read more

Drove 45 min to the location in Gilroy and after my ride came to pick me up the owner walks out and says that they told me the wrong price and it was going to be $50 bucks more! NO WAY! After reading the reviews, I was dubious regarding the service. However, since they did two of our other cars in the past I went ahead and schedules an appointment. I showed up 10 minutes early on the date, and found three other customers also waiting. One had been waiting for 2 hours! I waited 30 minutes, called their number, only to have it ring and ring. The shop was locked up nice and tight. The next day someone called me to ask why I wasn't at my appointment, I explained yes I had gone and no one was there, he asked me to drive the car over, which I could not as I have a job. After thinking about it I called to reschedule and explained they had been a no-show for me. As I was making the appointment, it occurred to me to verify the price. It had now gone up by $30! Let's see, I miss work, they don't show....and now they want me to pay $30 more. I think not, I said no thank you and called The Sound Factory in Morgan Hill. Save your time and frustration, go somewhere else. I never got an apology for their incompetence in not being there or for them making me miss my work due to their 'no show' it was as if it never happened. Lousy customer relations skills, lousy scheduling skills, just plain F- substandard service. Final advice, go somewhere else! read more

So I got a story for you about this place. I want to get my husbands windows tinted on his car for his birthday. So I called on a Friday talked to a guy and he gave me a quote set up a appointment for the next day. Me and my husband went in drop off the car and came back later. We picked up the car and it looked great he loved the way it looked. So they told us we couldn't roll drop the windows for 3 days. Later that night we went to grab something to eat and I told my husband it smells in your car. It's smells funny. He said I think my air filters might need to be changed. I said oh o.k. The next day we went to do errands.when I got in the car I was like babe it smells like smoke in here did you have anybody in your car and he said no it's just been me and you all weekend. So I ran into the store I got back in the car and my husband said I know why it's smells. I said why? He pulled out behind the passenger backseat I I f****** bong. I don't smoke my husband can smoke. The only place we had our car was the window tinting place. Very very shocked. Actually also super fucking pissed cause if I had my nephews or nieces I my car and got pulled over I would be fucked. Had a wrap done on my vehicle...needless to say it was terrible. Bubbles all over, peeling on the edges, wrinkles around the emblems and the cutting around handles & other parts of the vehicle look like my 8 year old son did the cutting...Maybe they should stick to just window tinting!!! read more

Good luck here people.. Had the windows on my truck done here. The 1st round was a combination of a bad roll of film, you think they would have seen that when putting it on, and poor installation. So needless to say I went back 3 days later after calling them and explaining what the issue is. They said bring it in we will fix it. Next day I went down there and they looked at the defects and bubbles in the film and agreed that the tint was both, bad roll of film from factory and install needed to be fixed. So they asked if I could bring it back for a complete redo. I made a appointment to have all windows redone. Couple of days later I dropped it off and they replaced all the window tint, ok cool. Well guess what, the tint started to bubble again the next day, so I called them back again and told them the story and got the same thing, bring it in and we will fix it, so we took it in and they said we need to make an appointment and bring it back in, so we did. We made the appointment for 9 am, we asked him are you sure 9 am? He said yes, ok. Well the day of the appointment we went in at 9 am, guess what, no one there, hmmm. Maybe because you don't open till 10am? I don't know. So I waited till 10:30am, still no one showed up, wow, Wierd shop hours are 10 to 6 were are you I been here since 9, witch was the original appointment set by you guys. Anyways I left and I will just now have your competitors fix it and pay them. Thanks guys for wasting my time, 3 times. I would highly recommend them to no one. read more
