Went on 2 field trips last week. Bought grits and sweet potatoes that I am very pleased with. On the second trip I ordered a hamburger. It came out cold and hard. For $8.00 I expected better. Next time I will eat at home. The experience for the students was amazing. I would highly recommend it for school field trips. The broad range of educational activities was impressive. So. I work at a school for children with significant special needs in Gastonia. We arranged a field trip to visit Black's, and arrived very excited... only to find that we made a GIGANTIC error. We had two buses of students, and were an entire MONTH early. Instead of turning us away, these amazing people literally stopped in the middle of their workday (they were actively working on the farm), and welcomed us. They made us their priority, and gave us access to the area even though they were obviously not expecting us, and were unprepared. They even gave our kids a hayride, and pumpkins. I cannot say enough about how amazing the staff is, and how much their kindness saved the day and touched our hearts. They are the BEST!! Thank you, thank you! read more

We were soooo excited to get out the house during this Quarantine time and May Black Peaches did not let us down! We arrived and paid our $10 for our gallon box of strawberries. No workers in the store had on mask nor did I see any sanitizer but luckily I had my own. The kids area was closed but I knew that going on due to Covid-19. So into the patch we go and my boys just LOVED all the beautiful strawberries they got to pick. It was all our first time picking and a great family experience. We ended the visit with ice cream and it's only a $1 a cup for smalls and that was more than enough for each of us. Go visit and and you can definitely keep your 6feet from others!!! read more

I love coming to Black's. It's kinda far from my house so it's a special treat for me when we drive over. They have a great selection of fruits & veggies and also some other yummy concoctions like pickled okra and strawberry jam. A real down-home country peach stand. But that's not all...the homemade peach ice cream is to die for. Even the Salted Caramel Ice Cream that isn't homemade is somehow better than usual. We drove out here today to buy pumpkins and eat ice cream. We bought $38 in pumpkins and another $12 in ice cream and produce. After the pumpkins our 1 year old wanted to walk around. They had a fall festival going on and were charging $7 a person. Under 2 was free so they didn't charge our baby but wanted us to pay $14 just to stand in the grass and watch him walk around, even though we weren't riding the hat rides, using the slides or otherwise partaking in any of the activities, bc obviously, our child was way to small. We were really just standing in grass next to some swings. He barely walks. Next year I will buy my pumpkins elsewhere and I will definitely never return. Doesn't seem to make good business sense to me. Perhaps if they had some adults out there running the operation, instead of middle school kids, some discernment could have been used. read more

Black's had very good peach ice cream, also good food made to order. I love their t-shirts that say "Fruit IS fast food"...LOL! I agree 100%. Love their sweet potato fries, but took a star away because we did not get to go peach picking as we were told that they had a bad season, but luckily another location called Bush-n-Vine like 5 minutes away was open for picking.
