The inside of the cake was moist and had a nice texture however, Just a little bit of feedback the icing on the cake was a thick slab of butter. Usually butter cream is sugary sweet and rich, but the cake must have been made by a trainee, because they forgot to add flavour tot he icing. It must have been a mistake because it tasted odd. In the display case they have the "cakes" made in Styrofoam and the real cakes are frozen. I think this had a hand in the dryness of the cake. I also bought a Butter Horn pastry which was really good. It was not frozen so it did taste fresh. I would like to try them again but only if it is fresh and not frozen.

I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 sandwiches. I especially loved the arugula on the mozerella sandwich. The blackberry brie sandwich could have used a touch more brie, but was still delicious. The cheesecakes were good, but a bit too sweet. The strawberry was my favorite. I enjoyed tasting multiple flavors. Their red velvet cupcake was extremely moist. The pistachio malasada was cute and flavorful. The filling to pastry ratio was good. I think that the experience could have been better balanced if there were a few more savory items. One thing that we noticed was that all of the pastries including the malasada were cold. I can understand that there are some food safe requirements that need to be met in how desserts are stored. However, letting them sit out for even 20-30 minutes before consumption would have been better.

It's a little place, but very friendly, and a favourite spot of the other nearby vendors, from the banter we experienced while there. The seating is limited, but there are standing areas and some outside seating. It's a great spot on the one-way in downtown Langley to watch the world go. The scones were excellent, filling and not terribly expensive. The cappuccino was spot on and paired nicely with the scone. We will be back again for sure, and hope they enjoy a ten year anniversary somewhere down the lane.
