We visited on a weekday morning to pick up some treats to eat while hiking. Bacon Egg Galette ($6.25) - Plenty of puff pastry layers combine to form a somewhat flaky and crisp crust - lightened a bit possibly due to the higher humidity thanks to the storms the past couple of days in the area. The layers aren't particularly buttery. They cradle an egg in the center, with the yolk off on one side, creating a barrier to avoid the fat of the breakfast sausage and cheese or moisture from the herbs on top from penetrating into the pastry. It's pretty tasty, but the texture is a little softer than I expect. (4/5) Pecan Sticky Bun ($4.75) - This sticky and sweet concoction looks wan and undercooked to the eye, but the appearance is very deceiving. The swirled bun is the perfect soft and chewy bread, interspersed with cinnamon and sugar. It's not too sweet by itself. The caramel-like sticky layer is an excellently crafted, milky-looking, sweet and yes, sticky, treat. The glaze sticks to the teeth easily while eating and acts kind of like a glue, allowing all the pecans to adhere to the pastry without falling off. Thanks to the sticky layer and the bake, the pecans are almost like candied nuts, sweet and crunchy. (5/5) Strawberry Scone ($3.50) - The scone is dense in texture, yet not dry crumbly, but light and tender. The taste is not too sweet, and mostly is of vanilla with only a bit of strawberry jam interspersed, but not enough to give the scone a real strawberry flavor. There's sweet glaze lined on top that gives additional sweetness, but it never becomes too sweet. There's great textural contrast between the sugar crust and the interior. It's just a solid American scone. (5/5) Mini Monkey Bread ($4) - Not a fan of this one, especially with the inclusion of cinnamon apples in the monkey bread. I believe they use the same dough base as the sticky bun but it's not swirled and instead appears in chunks. It's kind of like a dry cinnamon apple bread pudding. (2/5) Basin Levain Bakery is a quality bakery that I didn't expect to find in Klamath Falls. It seems like a great place to visit for any baked treats. Bathrooms - One unisex room

The first time we were there, I settled on a Philly cheesesteak with coleslaw. OMG, that cheesesteak was so full of perfectly grilled beef and gooey cheese, peppers and onions, fresh bun too. They give you an entire pint of cole slaw! I was still eating it four days later when we returned after camping. This was a really fine slaw too --- clearly homemade and not drowning in mayo, just a touch to keep it together. The second time we visited, I had a nice basic grilled pepper jack cheese sandwich that had a fine crunch and a good amount of cheese. Grill marks = yes, please! In summary, if you happen to be in Chiloquin area, stop by The Burger Shack. You would be hard pressed to find a friendlier staff or better casual dining options that taste soooo good. I had to go twice in 5 days!
