The services was prompt and friendly and we all liked what we ordered (2 autumn maple protein bowls, 1 buffalo chicken protein bowl, and 1 Ruben sandwich). Not cheap, but still worth it for the quality, and the portions were generous. We'll definitely be back when we next visit Klamath. read more

Cute place where we stopped for lunch. Decor was very cute. Mainly wraps and sandwiches and some bowls on the menu. The special today was clam chowder so I had a cup, with a pear-chicken-goat cheese wrap. The chowder was tasty but very thin, more like a broth with big chunks of potatoes and very little pieces of clams. My wrap was tasteless, pear was hard, goat cheese was hard to find and the arugula was stringy. Not a good combo at all. My friend ordered a sweet potato bowl with quinoa and chicken but got green salad with goat cheese instead. They later discovered their mistake and brought a side of quinoa and chicken and sweet potato. Not too appetizing. They were out of potato salad so a bit disappointing experience overall. read more

The cafe is cute with VERY mermaid themed decor. The service was friendly and the establishment seemed nice and clean. I had the New Yorker Panini with a salad and my mom had the chicken artichoke wrap with a potato salad. Her wrap was good, nice size portion. She enjoyed it. My panini was a little disappointing. I wish I had ordered a wrap. My panini tasted okay, but it was very small and not served on traditional bread you would find on a panini sandwich. It was served on normal square sandwich bread, that was then toasted and smashed in the panini press. Resulting in a very small and very thin sandwich. The filling was very sparse. My mom's southwestern potato salad was good, but a little bland. My salad was VERY wilted, it should not have been served. The pear salad dressing was good however. Overall, it was a pleasant cafe experience in Klamath Falls. Location is good, right downtown. I just wish the food a little more thought put into it. read more

I ordered a Reuben and it had two maybe three slices of meat. The cheese and sour kraut was good but I went back to my office after lunch and ate a protein bar. The Thai cabbage salad on the side was just ok. It has a little orange and ginger but it needs more dressing or flavor. For the price, I don't think a sandwich is worth it. Well, the Mermaid Garden has some unique dishes like a Portobello wrap. It's a cute place, but arranged weirdly in an inefficient way. And, when we walked in, all of the vacant tables were dirty. They had been bussed, but not wiped. The sun was shining in and really accentuating the crumbs and smears of salad dressing on the table surfaces. Isn't it customary or best practice to wipe tables down so they are ready for the next customer? And so your cafe doesn't look scuzzie? I mean, they weren't in the middle of a rush. It's not that hard. Definitely a cute place, which would be even cuter with a higher standard of consistent cleaning practices. read more

Amazing place, people and chow. There is a great variety of savory wraps, delicious sandwiches, daily soups and incredible salads. A lot of folks can't decide so get 1/2 sandwich and some soup which covers the bases nicely. I go down the page a little farther to the salads. Pick a base like spinach or mixed greens, and then pick 5 toppings from a long list of possibilities; or even add a few more for a little more money. But in either case, I get these whopping big, tasty salads that can't be beat. I eat half for lunch, take the rest home for dinner. Every time I am impressed once again at how this place operates. Not a bad place. Not good either. After a long road trip from Seattle, we were just happy to find a place that isn't junk food. We grabbed everything to go. They were quick and clean. I wish I could've given them four stars but the food was pretty bland. And the wraps come with side salads. They didn't put the dressed salad in its own container so half of my wrap was soggy. I also wasn't a fan of how they wrapped it. It was either under-filled or not wrapped tight enough because things were sliding out since it was loose - which negates the point of getting a wrap since I couldn't just eat it with one hand. read more

This was a wonderful find in downtown K Falls. Wonderful setting in some of the older building that are in that part of town. We had a couple different wraps. Food was dreamy. Well prepared, fresh, a wonderful mix of flavors. Side salads were also wonderful. Only two staff on shift when we arrived. They were friendly and helpful and answering any questions that we had. Love this spot! Our server was super sweet and quick. She let us arrange chairs so we can sit outside, and offered us to sit inside too. She kept her mask on the whole time too. Menu is deceptive - looks limited but everything sounded so good, it was hard to choose! She mentioned options for the kids that weren't on the menu, and even offered to make us any kind of sandwich the kids wanted. I ordered a wrap with chicken, pear, goat cheese, arugula, and yuminess. It was freakin delicious. AND it can with potato salad that was mind blowing, not mayo-y with corn, green peppers, black beans and celery. I'm not a huge potato salad fan, but this was good. Husband has the Mediterranean wrap. Fresh and delish (he let me taste it, thankfully). Came with a salad, a little heavy on the dressing but good. Kid 1 got a turkey and cheese sandwich with mayo. I'm unsure where the super high ratings came from. I honestly thought it was just OK. I ordered the blue cheese wrap and a side salad. The blue cheese was a vinaigrette style, which was alright - but not great, and the combo of chicken, spinach, nuts, and dried cherries was good - but it was very sparse. Could have even just used more spinach to make it a full wrap. It had a LOT of 'extra' tortilla. And the salad was literally mixed greens and dressing - nothing else. It was kind of a let down. Amazing food and service! I always get the Santa Fe with chicken panini with their Thai coleslaw. I have tried other dishes and friends have insisted that their sandwich is better than mine so I I'm open-minded and will try theirs. I always go back to my old faithful, the Santa Fe with chicken, the only thing I might trade up is the side dish. That is how good the Santa Fe Panini is, everyone that I have had try mine will ask to trade half my sandwich for theirs LOL. However, we found the potato salad quite bland, and the salad was like grazing in a field. Like taking a big ol' bite of grass. Just not appetizing. However... the staff was VERY nice and the service was quick. All good things. If you are vegetarian or vegan, you would probably love this place. Otherwise you really only get a couple of options. Well, we didn't eat at this restaurant, so this rating isn't for the food, but instead for the excellent service. We were driving through town, and came upon this place, and walked inside. The cafe had just opened, and it was apparent that the people working were busy getting prepared for the day. Despite that, a waitress walked up and greeted us, and gave all four of us menus, and discussed a few items that we should try on the menu, as we'd never been there before. Because we wanted breakfast food, we opted not to eat there (they have mostly lunch items). The woman who had greeted us kindly gave us very detailed directions to a very good breakfast place, as we expressed that we were in the mood for that. She basically took her time out of getting prepared, to help customers who weren't going to eat at her establishment. The breakfast place that she suggested turned out to be fabulous. I met my husband for lunch here today. We were in and out in 35 minutes, and the place was packed (but we weren't rushed). Service was fast and friendly, my wrap was fresh and delicious, and the southwestern potato salad was as good as ever. My husband has a grilled chicken and roasted red pepper pizza with an electric green colored salad and homemade blue cheese dressing. He was impressed, and being a big guy, was actually was full after finishing. My lunch was $9; his pizza and salad were $10. Perfectly reasonable for such delightful, healthy, tasty fare! Really the only way The Mermaid Cafe might improve is to use (and identify) local and/or organic ingredients. There is certainly a market for advertsing this, and their cafe already serves meals that might currently incorporate some organic ingredients. They immediately welcomed us, gave us menus, and happily made our sandwiches over an hour before they actually opened.
