    Reuben with thai salad
    Robert E.

I ordered a Reuben and it had two maybe three slices of meat. The cheese and sour kraut was good but I went back to my office after lunch and ate a protein bar. The Thai cabbage salad on the side was just ok. It has a little orange and ginger but it needs more dressing or flavor. For the price, I don't think a sandwich is worth it. I might return to try a salad. My wife's side salad with blue cheese pear dressing was great.

This little gem is in the center of downtown on Main St. and it is amazing!! The atmosphere, the decor, the soups and sandwiches, the friendly staff. If you've never been...it is definitely worth a visit. Keep these local places going strong friends. Next time you're going out for lunch, I highly recommend The Mermaid Garden Cafe.

Not a bad place. Not good either. After a long road trip from Seattle, we were just happy to find a place that isn't junk food. We grabbed everything to go. They were quick and clean. I wish I could've given them four stars but the food was pretty bland. And the wraps come with side salads. They didn't put the dressed salad in its own container so half of my wrap was soggy. I also wasn't a fan of how they wrapped it. It was either under-filled or not wrapped tight enough because things were sliding out since it was loose - which negates the point of getting a wrap since I couldn't just eat it with one hand.

Good selection of sandwiches and wraps. Great soup. Their cookies are insanely good- salted caramel is a must try. I like that they make mostly everything in house and when you're done eating you feel full but not lethargic. Important note *** They're only open for lunch ***

This place is alright, closer to meh. Gluten-free vegans should know that this is a place where you can get any wrap/sandwich turned into a salad, but there is no gf bread, no gf wraps, and GASP... no tofu. No tofu?! You cry. And I cry too... I tried the special of the day: the garden veggie wrap with french tarragon dressing. I was so excited to taste the dressing, then the wrap came. It was flavorless. Not even a hint of tarragon. So disappointing. The hummus and veggie plate was fine. It was hummus and veggies. Nothing to write home about, and I thought they could have been more generous with the hummus serving. The staff is the best part of this joint - super sweet and helpful! I wish this spot had better choices for gluten-free vegans. It's ok, but there's nothing special calling me back.

A Leap of Taste was one of the few spots open, and after seeing all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try. The ambiance is really cute and cozy -- lots of decor, lighting, and seating that makes it feel welcoming and comfortable. Service was also quick and friendly, which we appreciated. We ordered the Green Machine smoothie and a matcha, and both were really good and definitely a highlight of our visit. Where the experience fell a bit short for us was the food. While the presentation was great, the taste didn't quite match expectations. The breakfast tacos listed potatoes, but they ended up being more like tater tots, and the tortillas weren't warm -- my friend wasn't very fond of them. I ordered the #5 sandwich, which was described as being on jalapeño toast, but it came on regular toast instead, along with a pickle on the side. The sandwich itself was okay -- not bad, but something I could easily make at home. For the two drinks and two food items, we paid around $40, which felt a bit high considering the overall food experience. I can see why this place is well-loved by locals -- it fits the neighborhood vibe and likely appeals to the regular crowd -- but as visitors, the food didn't quite live up to the hype for us. Overall, it's a cute spot with great drinks, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. I'd probably come back for beverages, but I'd skip the food next time

That's not always something that a restaurant can help but this was more than inconvenient. We didn't go late in the day, typical lunch time.
