I had a sleep study performed overnight at a hospital 9 years ago. I've used a CPAP every single night since. I took a home sleep study from Blackstone last week, so I could get a prescription for a travel CPAP machine. They told my doctor the results said I didn't need a CPAP machine. Imagine that. (1) I've used a CPAP for 9 years. (2) I woke up from lack of breathing every 30-45 minutes the entire 2 nights of their in-home sleep study. I have clinically proven moderate to severe sleep Apnea, but these idiots tell me their ring says I'm totally fine. They took my money, had me wear their ring, get 2 nights of awful sleep, then tell me I don't need a machine. I'M FURIOUS. read more

They send bills through email which my husband never opens. I prefer snail mail. my husband is over 80 and the harassment is awful. they said we are shutting down his phone, etc. they should be sued for harassment of the elderly. all different phone numbers it is ridiculous. I would not recommend them for any services. They are rude and unethical. I believe my insurance paid for that but to get them off my case I gave them another $10. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! This is probably one of the worst medical companies out there. Why are doctors forced to use them. The co-pay was equal to the actual cost of the device. They should be banned by all insurance companies. They didn't even include all of the results to my doctor. The won't even give you the data. The data is the patient's, not theirs. They were sent a prescription for the CPAP machine and I have heard nothing. I will definitely report all of this to my doctor. I should have a choice. read more

If you receive a call from this company saying your doctor sent them your order, hang up and call your doctor. Chances are multiple companies got their hands on that order. Blackstone charges $249 for their device. They say your insurance was verified, by which they mean they verified that you have insurance. They haven't contacted them, billed them, checked your copay, nothing. I luckily received a call from another company that had offices in a close city (I live in a rural area), who charged $20 for the device and had a $1 copay for the test to be read. That's right--Blackstone says that $249 is a charge for the device. I don't know if they charge more for the test to be read because they didn't even mention that, but I'm sure they do. If you try to call customer service, be prepared to wait half an hour. They will try to wiggle their way out of all their deceptive claims. This company is predatory. This company has not improved at all from older, bad reviews. Ordered by my pulmonologist, the device took two weeks to arrive. The battery on the device was dead and none of my USB chargers would fit the port. They said to return it and they would send another device. Tracking says the faulty device has arrived at their facility. I have not heard from them except several emails stating I need to submit my device for test results. So I tried calling them today. Every number I tried to call has been disconnected. Awaiting further instructions from my provider. This is a scam company. I will be asking my provider for a different home study company. read more

Stay far away from this company. Though the product was appealing and I would have loved to use it, the shadiness of this company kept me away. Research is 100% accurate on the dishonest practices. 1- they text, email and call repeatedly even after opting out AND declining their services. They send an email that everything is 100% covered by insurance, which I know is not the case as I have coinsurance that would apply. I specifically told them i rejected their service. They have called twice more, and even gave false information to my doctor about why I declined. Why record your calls if you don't even use the tool?! I will take my two nights away from home over this chaos. And to expect they send trustworthy test results to my provider if I HAD opted in, shame on anyone that has dealt with them. read more

They take 30 to 45 minutes to answer a call, It has taken over 6 months and still have no CPAP. I gave them my medical insurance 3 times, then they needed my doctor to resend the order for the CPAP. Much more to the delays. They never called to say that need something only ask when you get them on the phone, which can take days! Don't let your doctor refer you to them! Initially they called on Dec 2 and said my cost would be $249 due to my deductible. At the time they called, I was literally in the middle of an allergy outbreak and was waiting for uber to take me to urgent center. I told them this. They were supposed to charge me on Dec 17. Payment didn't come out until Dec 26. By then I had been to about 4 appointments and my deductible was down to $88.74. Instead of checking my insurance before charging me, they charged me the full $249. If they had checked my insurance, they would have seen that my deductible was ONLY $88.74. I have called several times and left messages asking to be credited the difference and I have heard nothing. I found another number for them and chose the refund option. No one comes to the phone for the refund line. Been on hold for 15 minutes and 46 seconds before it told me to leave a message. Obviously these people do not care. I caled them on 7/13 as they hadn't reached out to me, left a VM. called 4-5 times on Tuesday, after 20 minutes I would be flipped to VM again, but unable to leave a message without a pin. let my provider know what was going on. provider calls me on Wednesday to say they called Blackstone and they escalated. still haven't heard a word from this company. not sure how they stay in business ignoring customer. read more

this company will rob you .. i was sent the test , i did not open the package and told them i dont want to take the test and want to return the box because some other test came through and was more important then this one and wanted to save a little money ,. i contacted them and they said i can put it on hold and take care of my other problem and when i am ready then take the test . well i wasnt ready yet and they started to charge me late fees for not returning the item back .. i told them i will return it then . so they kept 200 dollars and i did return the item .. they screwed me .. read more

This is a horrible company to deal with; go anywhere else. The call wait time is consistently over 20 minutes. Most of the reps' English isn't their first or second language. They tell you something different every time you call. It took almost 3 weeks to receive the device, and they received it a week ago and still haven't reviewed the results. BEWARE!!! I was told my portion of the bill after my insurance would be $249. I gave them my credit card info. They billed me the $249. They sent the sleep ring without a charger. I called numerous times and left several messages. When I did finally speak to someone I was told they had enough info and to go ahead and return the device. I have ABSOLUTELY NO CONFIDENCE in the results of the test. It is now 6 weeks later and I find out they never used my insurance because they are out of network. The ABSOLUTE worst experience with their support. I was recommended to do my stay-at-home sleep apnea test through Blackstone medical. Prior to me taking the test, I had called their support to ensure my insurance had covered it. (Active duty Military about to separate). Blackstone ensured me the payment was complete and there would be no future payments. 2 weeks later i get a bill for over $600. I called to complain and they said, "It was probably a Misunderstanding they shouldn't have told you it was paid". A $600 misunderstanding!! I would suggest going through a different company for your sleep study. They sent me an empty box. i had to wait for them to investigate. Weeks later my test was supposedly completed. They emailed me a link saying i owed a co-pay.I requested a formal bill which i received and remitted payment through my bank. i emailed the representative and gave him notice payment is on its way. Since then they have been sending payment requests in duplicate daily. They are harassing me for $20. Beware. Go elsewhere!! read more

This is just a follow up from my previous review. Just received another call from Blackstone which was a surprise since I have been calling to get information on how to return the unused test. The customer service rep not from the US was calling telling me I have a $300 bill. I told them I didn't want the test or used the test. He then said I signed a contract. If I could give -10 I would. I have little tolerance for Blackstone, sleep study provider. Due to my work schedule I was unable to do the sleep study the day I received the kit. I had zero control over when I received my kit. I communicated this to Blackstone. I called Blackstone and was told I would NOT be charged a late fee. After not getting test results for 5 weeks. One of the HSNKC office staff said she requested the results and had not received any, she suggested I call Blackstone. The Blackstone menu does not provide an option for discussing test results. So I selected #4 randomly. Blackstone charged me a late fee of $45.00 and never billed me or informed me. They just sat on my test results for 5 weeks. I paid the $45, was told my results would be sent immediately, but if the doctor didn't get them I should call back. Seriously? I was promised an emailed receipt for my payment, have not received it. I don't understand why my ENT does business with Blackstone, who has many complaints online. Some are worrisome, like BBB complaints claim double billing. read more

I will NEVER do business with this company. I have asked them repeatedly to postpone until the end of January . Yet they continue calling and texting repeatedly every day, throughout the day. I have indicated that they are to stop texting me yet. They text me from a different phone . They are calling my personal cell phone, my work phone and my husband 's cell phone. At this point, I have blocked their multiple phone numbers because they are HARASSING me. This harassing behavior is completely unacceptable, and I will be filing a complaint. read more

My Dr. and his office are pushing this company for sleep apnea test. They called me, got on a payment plan. They took the 1st payment of $69 & change. Said they would send the equipment, never did. Called 5 or 6 times, left messages, never a call back, no answering the phones. After about a mouth of going back and forth, I finally stopped payment, bank got my money back. This company sends constant harassing texts and calls. They claim they don't have your insurance information, refuse to speak to your insurance reps, and then claim they cannot file with insurance because it's past 90 days. It's past 90 days because they refused to answer calls from my insurance and choose to harass by text for payment and additional unwanted testing instead. The reps are the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with, insulting your character instead of following the law. I've called my insurance multiple times and they laughed about this company sending me bills via text. They said to keep ignoring them. They said they should have filed a claim and if they send me a physical bill we can resubmit. The company knows this and refuses to do so. Blackstone Medical is a joke! The good reviews have to be fake! Please DO NOT waste your time with this pathetic business! I received my sleep study kit May 9 but it did not work. I downloaded the app, placed the ring on my finger, connected the device and It showed heart rate and 02. So good! HOWEVER, when it was time to start the test, the app message " place the ring on your finger and press start test." IT DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE RING WAS ON MY FINGER!!! I attempted it over and over until the battery is soon to be too low if it works. After 12 unsuccessful calls for help, 30 minutes on hold on each call and on one call I finally get an answer who tells me to uninstall the app and try again and call back if it does not work. THAT DID NOT WORK! Call after call and 30 minutes of holding each time then I get a message, " all of our representatives are busy. Please call back at another time or please leave a message( no return call) or we are having technical difficulties. The call ends. On another call a man picked up so I told him my name and the issue. He says "please hold" after 12 minutes of holding. The message comes on and It says we're having technical difficulties call back at another time." THAT WAS THE LAST STRAW! Unbelievable! I am returning the kit and now having to call my doctor, share my experience and ask for an alternative. I will report fraud if my insurance is billed! BEWARE! read more
