Blackwatch Cafe is an excellent coffee experience in a whimsical atmosphere located in Scranton at Nay Aug Park. Rarely in my travels do I encounter such a cute coffee spot that deserves a special shout out, but Blackwatch Cafe is worth a caffeine fix detour when traveling through the Scranton area. The unique vibe hits you as soon as you walk in, as there's decor worth a look in almost every direction. It's a tasteful collection of fixtures, pictures, and figures of all kinds. There is parking nearby the cafe, and the place offers a walk up window should you wish to sit on the patio outside or grab a drink to take for a stroll in the park. I ordered an iced mocha latte (half sweet), and it was prepared to perfection with a smooth taste and just the right amount of sweetness, and no hints of bitterness. It was probably the best iced mocha drink I've had in over a year. Service from the several ladies working there was really friendly. All in all, Blackwatch Cafe was a top notch cafe experience for me, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend others give them a visit when visiting Scranton. It's definitely the kind of coffee shop the world could use more of, offering a quality product, as well as a unique cafe experience. The park offers a wonderful place to stroll as well. read more

Yum!!! Whether you're trapped at the hospital next door or just looking for a good coffee, Blackwatch is a great stop. They have a great rotating menu of seasonal drinks and your standard classics. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of what they have. The space is SO cute decked out with old movie memorabilia and Scranton antiques. Beautiful location, surrounded by Nay Aug Park. Small space with big character. I loved looking at all the photos: some local history and some cinema-related. I got a golden milk chai, which I'd never heard of before. Nice to sit outside and enjoy the park lawn. read more

They normally don't make a London fog but we worked it out. I always appreciate people accommodating this. Though it was on the sweet side it was still tasty. My hubs LOVED the pistachio latte. Both with oat milk of course. The inside was also pretty sweet with a lot of local history to look at. read more

I make it a point to find and visit little coffee shops as I travel the USA. It's always so fun to meet local folks and patronize our independent businesses. This time I think I hit a jackpot! BlackWatch cafe is adorable, cozy, so unique. The coffee is fantastic, and I'm a bit of a fanatic about my coffee... truly wonderful here. I always appreciate a nice barista foam art and they did not disappoint here. Off the charts smoothies; my husband had the Blueberry Oatmilk and is raving about it. But can we talk about the building itself? It's loaded with history and decorated with classic literary and fan pieces, interesting conversation pieces, and fun works of art. The roaring fireplace at the entry was perfect for these visiting Phoenicians on a bitterly cold day! I hated to leave, but the road trip continues. I cannot wait to stop by again! read more

The location of the area is cute! near a park and I believe a garden. when I first walked into the cafe, there was a huge red door with a lion holding a ring which was very cool. The interior of the cafe is very detailed and unique. Haven't seen any cafe like this- I felt like I was at a history/ Cartoon comic store haha. Very cute!! The Iced coffee I have gotten which was an iced mocha was pretty good! as well as a Crossant with eggs, bacon and cheese was to die for. This magical coffee spot made my rainy morning lovely! Take a moment to see the park that surrounds the cafe and then open the magnificent door to another world. Coffee was decent. Barista was not well versed in specialty coffee offerings. Asked if they served a single origin coffee or espresso. Server shrugged, said she did it know and then pressured me to just decide upon which drink to purchase. The challenge here, is that the "boss or owner" was working in the back. She could have asked.
