Nice space overall, but my first visit was a mixed experience. The shop was very crowded and visibly popular. Every table was full, which says a lot about how well-loved it is. The space itself looks like an older Caribou location that's been renovated, with a casual vibe and plenty of seating options. They also offer food like breakfast items and sandwiches, which is a plus. The coffee was just fine overall, but the sesame latte was a miss for me. It tasted like straight sesame seed grounds and was very gritty. It didn't seem mixed well and was honestly hard to drink. The staff was friendly but also felt a bit distant at the same time. Service wasn't rude, but it didn't feel especially warm or welcoming either, almost like they didn't really want you to be there. Parking can be a little tricky right out front, but there are usually plenty of spots available in the main strip mall area nearby Trader Joe's. Overall, it's clear this place is very popular and busy, and I may have just caught it on an off day. Decent space and lots of options, but the drink and service didn't fully win me over on this visit.

Went on a Sunday around 1:00pm. Nice airy, spacious place with lots of natural light. Clean and comfortable. Servers were friendly. There is a parking lot with two handicapped parking spots. My partner had his first London Smog, he liked it. I had the Peppermint Mocha which was pretty good. Not a very strong coffee flavor, but good. We will be back.

I really like this place! I had never heard of it and found it here on Yelp. I moved to Minnetonka this past weekend. The service was fast despite how busy it is here. I love the butterscotch latte (highly recommend). Was greeted with a smile by friendly staff and there were a couple of tables open but I wish there was more space! The struggle of going somewhere popular. The coffee was kinda expensive as well but if you're a grad student like me -- it might be a great study spot.

A busy, but great and cozy little coffee shop creating specialty crafted coffees, teas, and other drinks, as well as delicious breakfast and lunch bites. This was my first visit, but it was visibly very popular as every table was full. The attendant at the counter was absolutely delightful. She recommended her favorite latte, and that's precisely what I went with: a Blueberry Iced Latte. My first time trying one and it did not disappoint ;) The blueberry syrup is strong, so if you're not a big blueberry fan, this might not be your jam. I went for their "Healthy choice" breakfast sandwich, which consisted of a fried egg, roasted tomatoes, and onions (I asked them to 86 my onions), Swiss cheese, and sliced turkey deli, warmed between two multigrain toasts that had a pesto sauce smeared on each slice in place of butter. It was savory, juicy, slightly sweet, and full of flavor--a filling morning bite which paired perfectly with my Blueberry latte. The vibes at this location are verrrrry casual, but their focus is on serving good coffee. They were pretty busy, and I did have a slight wait --primarily for my meal --but I would revisit, as everything, including the sandwiches, is made fresh, which makes all the difference in quality and flavor. It appears they are trying to address that by hiring more staff. All in all, Blackwater Coffee & Cafe had all the elements I appreciated in a first visit to a new coffee shop: good customer service, and a wide selection of drinks and bites.

Visited in a late Monday morning after looking for a new coffee shop to check out on the way to a playground with my kids. The shop itself is pretty standard and kind of tucked into the corner of a strip mall. Might not be a bad place to do some work if you live in the area. I got an ice coffee which was actually not bad at all. So why only 3 stars. The drip coffee my wife got tasted little different than gas station. Unfortunately. Now I do know as my wife says I'm am coffee snob. But I really hope for better at these places. I'm sure the lattes and such are good though if that's your thing.

I walked in on a Tuesday around 3:45pm and only had one customer in front of me. I read they make their chai syrup in house so I knew I needed to try it. My drink was SO delicious!! I wish there was a Blackwater closer to Shakopee so I could get it more often. I got the iced Maple Cinnamon Cream Chai to-go and highly recommend you stop by to grab one too!

A cute suburb coffee shop! It was busy the whole time we worked remotely from there. Loved that they have milk tea, coffee, and food options. The tonka latte was pretty good. The wifi worked well and there were plenty of tables and nook areas for working or chatting.

I got a sesame oat matcha! it was definitely something I have never had before but it was very good! The staff were very friendly and helpful when asking about different options! There was a lot of space in the building to do work as well as outside space!

This place is a gem in an area of the twin cities without many local coffee shops. Some things I love about it: - friendly smiling service -free parking lot right outside - cleanliness -variety of the menu You can get anything from a hot coffee to a bubble tea here and both are equally as good. I haven't tried to food yet but looks like a great menu. There were multiple places with an outlet if needed. My favorite spot is next to the fireplace in the armchairs or right by the window in their booths.

I grew up going to the Maple Plain location, and I was really excited to check out this one today. The coffee was good, and the interior ambiance was nice. Service was also fast and friendly. I would certainly recommend checking this location out! It's got a nice modern feel while still incorporating a fireplace to add a a little bit of Caribou style to it.

Wanted to introduce some family visiting from Chicago to my Lady Friend. She asked if I had been to Blackwater. When it was a different chain a few years ago I had gone a few times but not to the new place. We agreed to check it out. First the gentleman behind the counter was very professional. He made up three Chai latte for the rels and my girl. For me I got an iced coffee. Secondly I noticed on the wall some very sophisticated menu items for any restaurant. Surprising for a coffee shop. I will come back soon with a few friends and sample the food items because it looks so good. As per the Chai and the iced coffee? They were very good.

I popped in here for a quick coffee to get some work done and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Loved the coffee menu and that they provide the WiFi password at checkout easy for you to grab it before you get seated. Good coffee spot.

I've been to Blackwater 4 times now since I'm frequently in the area and I've had great experiences every time! The 2 baristas I've talked to have been helpful with drink recommendations that I've enjoyed, the seats by the fireplace are comfy, and there are a lot of outlets for when I've wanted to do some work there. I like their big mural and the plants too. Drinks I've tried and enjoyed: iced tanka latte, blackwater sesame, and the dirty chai

Of course the vibe, seemed to give off kind of a coolness that I can't explain. After perusing the menu, I decided on getting a mango frosty. I had decided on a medium, as it was way cheaper, and not as filling. What I liked for an $1.50 I was able to add crushed Oreo add-on to give it extra flavor. What I surprised about, was the fact that they wanted to know know how sweet it should be; from 0% to 100%. I felt half sweet would give me a half sweet taste of what it is like. Even though I was only the second one in line, I was surprised that it only took a few minutes. Not only could I taste the mango, but I liked how it was a bit sweet, and it was cool to the taste. Yet, what was surprising was tasting the little bits of oreos every now and again Definitely, worth another stop sometime. Especially, when I am here at the mall.

WHOA MSG OVERLOAD!…read more This is typical Asian street food. Fast & full of MSG! The bread here is very authentic Vietnamese.. It is light and airy and crispy on the outside. I ordered Bo Ko. The carrots tasted like they were from frozen. It was a weird texture. It was not from fresh. Their beef was extremely tender however I assume from the MSG because it's normally not this tender anywhere else that I've ever had. The taste of the broth definitely tasted like it was from a soup base powder mix from premade not in-house. If you've ever had this dish at Quangs which is another fully loaded MSG Asian restaurant they make it better there of a thicker broth, more like a curry beef broth. The service is absolutely incredible. You will not find better service at any other restaurant in your entire life, however, I do not believe in fully loading foods with MSG. So it definitely breaks my heart to give a one star review just because I feel like everything was cooked with sauce packets powder packets not like authentic individual spices. They're charging almost $20 when you could buy the sauce packets that are five cents each at the Asian grocery store stores. So the taste is a rip off here. This place has a lot of potential because at other Asian restaurants, the service always always horrible. You will be particularly surprised the service here is absolutely terrific. The dipping sauce for their shrimp and pork spring rolls tasted more of a sauce that you would get in Thailand, not Vietnam. They serve Thai food at this place and we all know Thai restaurants have the worst service you'll ever have in your entire life. Since this is a Vietnamese restaurant, it's highly unlikely that their Thai dishes are authentic. So I will give them three stars, five stars for the service one star for the food. P.S. For this being a Vietnamese restaurant, I did not see any Vietnamese customers in there although there were other Asian customers in there I would say they were Korean Filipino Hmong. That says a lot about the Viet food. I would say this is a Thai-Viet sytle dishes. Not authentic Viet. My goto Vietnamese place are MT Noodles in Brooklyn Park they do not use MSG. My goto Thai is Coconut Thai in St Paul / Edina.
