Pretty easy to get an appointment. Treated my eczema twice. Didn't try to push other options aside from just a cream.

It's important for patients to understand that Dedicated Dermatology operates as a larger corporate dermatology group rather than a traditional physician-owned practice. In my case, the process involved multiple appointments, multiple copays, and long wait times between steps. At a previous Mohs surgeon I saw in the Washington, DC area, I was evaluated, biopsied, diagnosed, and treated in the same visit. Two basal cell carcinomas were confirmed and removed during a single appointment, and the entire process took only a couple of hours. My experience with Dedicated Dermatology was very different. First, I saw a provider for biopsies. Then I had to wait weeks for pathology results, return for another appointment, and later go through a separate scheduling and approval process to see a Mohs surgeon. I was also told that two areas could not be treated on the same day due to office policy, billing. The result was multiple visits, repeated copays, additional time away from work, and significantly more inconvenience. By the time everything was scheduled and completed, the total out-of-pocket cost was far higher than what I experienced elsewhere( actual/real Mohs surgeon). I also found it frustrating that by the time I finally saw the Mohs surgeon, the biopsy sites had already healed, meaning the areas had to be reopened and treated again. Every office operates differently, but patients should be aware that this practice's process may involve several appointments and added costs compared to a more streamlined Mohs surgery experience.

Dr. Geller is the finest and most highly skilled dermatologist in New Jersey…read more I have seen Dr. Geller several times, mostly for complications from treatment for cancer. I had severe radiation burns on my face, neck, and chest. Dr. Geller took one look at me, and prescribed medication that immediately healed and cleared up my skin. None of the doctors or nurse practitioners at the cancer center had ever heard of the medication, but you can bet they were taking notes so that they can prescribe it for their patients suffering from the same horrible side effects. Thanks to Dr. Geller I have seen a remarkable recovery. This was on my face after all. Dr. Geller's office is clean, bright, and cheerful. There is minimal waiting time to be seen, despite the fact that he has a very busy practice. His staff are warm and welcoming, and you feel relaxed as soon as the staff prepares your intake, and you are promptly seen by the doctor. They have a second location in Chester, if that is closer for you. There are female practitioners here as well, if that is your preference. The practice also sells med spa products and performs treatments for virtually every type of skin disorder. Dr. Geller looks like he was sent from Hollywood Central Casting. In other words he looks exactly as a doctor should. Tall with an almost regal bearing, he inspires confidence and exudes competence in his white lab coat!

On arrival, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, who welcomed me to the practice. I had a very short wait, which I appreciated. The medical assistant called me into the room, introduced herself, obtained a very brief (less than 1 minute history) and on excusing herself, advised Amanda would be in shortly. I asked if Amanda was the doctor, to which she advised Amanda was the PA. Shortly thereafter, Amanda entered the room, asked a few questions, did not even come close to me to examine my face, glance at my face, or touch my face. She then seemed annoyed when I asked her to clarify Rx face cream instructions, as I already had a facial cleanse routine and wasn't sure if I should continue or stop any parts of my facial cleanse routine. She then looked in the cabinet for a free sample and then left, without saying a word. I thought she left to continue looking for a free sample, but then the medical assistant returned, advising she would be submitting the prescription to my (mail order) pharmacy. For a first time patient to a Dermatology Group Practice, I would think would be scheduled with a doctor and that an initial examination and evaluation would be performed. As a widow to a physician, a daughter of an RN, a career ER veterinarian now in private practice (general medicine and surgery), I'm aghast at the low level of patient care. My time with the medical assistant and PA didn't even total 5 minutes!

It was an extremely poor doctor-patient interaction. That same doctor later resigned. When my son needed a prescription refill only three months later, we were told he had to come back and establish care with a brand-new provider--even though he was away at college. This turned into multiple back-and-forth calls until I escalated the issue and someone finally helped. On 1/28 my daughter had a scheduled appointment, and due to my work call running over we arrived 16 minutes late. We were told to wait while the receptionist checked with the provider. After waiting 15-20 minutes, we were told the provider refused to see us. The interaction was passive-aggressive, dismissive, and no attempt was made to reschedule or assist in any way. Policies are one thing, but courtesy, communication, and basic patient support were completely lacking. Very poor office management overall.

The Physician Assistant did not take the time to address his questions and concerns. Also, she prescribed a medication that is not covered under his insurance, and inquired on which pharmacy he prefers although this was listed in his patient information and given during his appointment bookings. She never reviewed his medical history with him or the pertinent information in his medical records. Lesson learned for my son to advocate for himself when he is being treated with a complete lack of medical care.
