First off, let me give props to the desk for helping a person in pain - they fit me in without having to wait on an appointment later in the week (unlike other dermatology groups locally). I realize appointments take precedence, but pain being addressed immediately is a good thing. Anne-Marie (?) at the desk was super helpful and though their system had a bit of difficulty (they recently switched to a new system), I was eventually registered. Dr. Altman was fantastic. Inquisitive and comforting as well as efficient, was in and out in less than an hour even as a walk-in, plus a follow-up a week and a half later. Though no big gauze pads, so had to do with a make-shift one. And on top of that, prescription send directly to the right pharmacy. read more

Terrible all around. Don't go here for anything even remotely serious, especially anything surgical, even routine procedures. Reception is a nightmare, care is an even bigger nightmare, they rush you along like they don't care and allow very narrow windows for asking questions or expressing concerns, and there is extremely poor communication from staff to patients. I'd really encourage looking elsewhere for care if you are looking for anything more than basic cosmetic dermatological treatments, there are so many quality offices in this general area and surrounding counties. I rarely leave reviews, but our repeated experiences here warrant one. During my son's appointment, the physician stood in the doorway for roughly two minutes, did a quick look-over, made no eye contact, and offered minimal engagement. It was an extremely poor doctor-patient interaction. That same doctor later resigned. When my son needed a prescription refill only three months later, we were told he had to come back and establish care with a brand-new provider--even though he was away at college. This turned into multiple back-and-forth calls until I escalated the issue and someone finally helped. On 1/28 my daughter had a scheduled appointment, and due to my work call running over we arrived 16 minutes late. We were told to wait while the receptionist checked with the provider. After waiting 15-20 minutes, we were told the provider refused to see us. The interaction was passive-aggressive, dismissive, and no attempt was made to reschedule or assist in any way. Policies are one thing, but courtesy, communication, and basic patient support were completely lacking. Very poor office management overall. read more

My son saw the PA (Megan Offray) in the Madison office twice and he was rushed out the door both visits. The Physician Assistant did not take the time to address his questions and concerns. Also, she prescribed a medication that is not covered under his insurance, and inquired on which pharmacy he prefers although this was listed in his patient information and given during his appointment bookings. She never reviewed his medical history with him or the pertinent information in his medical records. BEWARE OF BILLING. Billing department is an absolute nightmare and the people working there are nothing but incompetent liars. I was billed repeatedly for a service that was paid by my insurance. Insurance had reference numbers proving they paid the claim. The billing department never updated their account despite telling me numerous times it would be updated. Then suddenly I get a letter saying they sent my account to collections. All previous reference numbers given to me suddenly can't be found and has to go to the research department to find them. Ended up paying the bill that was not mine to pay just to get it out of collections. The funny thing is they keep calling me saying I need to book my yearly skin check. Saw a new doctor as mine life the practice. She was over 30 minutes behind. Her medical assistant was rude. There was no apology for being late or anything. She didn't even do a skin check. She came in the room for about 5 minutes and left. It was a complete waste of time. I miss the other person I used to see. No bedside manner or anything. BEWARE of billing practices. While the doctors are great, the billing is very aggressive and seems suspicious. Our daughter had follow up visits for a rash. We still got billed $100+ (twice) for a line item you can't understand, which was $500. We have very good insurance and were only supposed to pay a co-pay. Insurance already paid $400 (for our 10 min visit). Unfortunately, we'll need to find a new provider if this is how Schweiger operates. read more

What a waste of time!!! I was a first time patient for Dr. Megan Offray visiting about a mole on my head. Dr. Offray was incredibly rude and rushed me out of my appointment. I'm not even kidding, she wasn't even in the room for 30 seconds. She refused to even acknowledge my "Hello, how are you?" as she entered the room. I called to see if Schweiger Dermatology in Morristown had physicians who removed lipomas. My current derm office did not. It was time for my annual skin screening and I wanted to get my lipoma diagnosis confirmed at the same time. I was assured that they had physicians that removed lipomas so I switched from my existing derm group to Schweiger. I saw a PA for the skin screening, which is normal. There was also an assisitant in the exam room. She confirmed that I had a lipoma, that they had physicians in the Morristown office who could remove it, and that I could make an appointment to have that done on the way out. The receptionist clearly understood that I was making an appointment for a lipoma removal - I asked that my appointment be with one of their physicians that did that. The day before the appointment, I received a calll saying that I needed to reschedule the lipoma removal because the doctor would not be in. Again, I made sure I got an appointment with the same doctor for the same procedure. At 7:40am the morning of the appointment I received a call saying that the doctor did not perform lipoma removals, nor did any other physician in the Morristown office. So you count up the number of people at Schweiger who told me that they did this and decide for yourself whether there is any ... ANY ... level of competence in this practice. Questionable Backoffice practices. Stay away and save the pain. They asked my wife to pay a bill I already paid online. She paid because she didn't know I already paid. Later that day I called the billing department. I waited for a long time and they said to call Morristown office so they will process a refund. I called Morristown office and they said they will take care of it. Almost a month later and no refund yet. I called billing department again and the guy is insisting that they refunded and ignoring the fact that the money is NOT back in my account. He said I should call the bank. Zero accountability about an error they made. I am moving to another place with better ethics. read more

My father was taken into a patient room very promptly and right on time. What's more, Dr. Altman gave my father all the time that he needed, and we did not feel at all rushed. Horrible place. Do not go here unless you want to be scammed. The first time I went here was to have a growth removed. It was $100 and $350 for the biopsy of the growth to see what it was. No one called me to let me know the lab results were in! A few months later my husband had athlete's foot and I thought we would give this place another try and swing by and see if the lab results for my biopsy were in since we do not live near the area. The doctor Rachel Altman did not even do a careful inspection of my husband's feet and just said you have dry feet, go put some cream on it. $200 for her to say this and she was only in the room with us for 5 minutes! We went to another place later and surprise - they said my husband has athlete's foot! Even more ridiculous is when after we paid I asked for my lab results and they said someone called me - no one ever called me. They gave me the lab report and then said the doctor wanted to see me. I said I just want the report. They said it's just a followup and I said I have no new growths. She just spent 2 minutes to check to see there were no new growths (like I mentioned before!) and then we left Months later and I get a bill in the mail for $250! First of all we have paid cash everytime for our visits so why would be billed months later and not at the front desk. Also I did not ask for a visit, just my lab results! I had to call this horrible place and they said it's because the doctor did cryotherapy for me - WHICH SHE NEVER DID! So they wanted to bill me for something that never happened? Finally they agreed to remove the charge. Today is May 28th and I get ANOTHER bill in the mail now for $150 for an office visit? I just called and they said your balance is $0 ignore the letter, but why did I even receive this bill? Our son can't communicate effectively and is unable to tell us if he begins to feel pain etc., It's essential that he trust us as well as those we entrust with his care. Dr. Altman is his smart and qualified new dermatologist. She had to remove a mole and put in his stitches. She was kind, gentle, and remarkably careful. So was the medical professional that assisted her. The office staff is friendly, efficient,and approachable. I want to note that our son has a rare chronic blood cancer. We left his previous dermatologists because they didn't seem to care about Covid safety or enforce the rules posted on their office entrance door. Dr. Altman's office practices good hygiene and requires masks of staff and patients. Finally, as the parent of a special needs adult child who is a Medicaid recipient I must search tirelessly for good specialists who accept his insurance. My only complaint is that their parent group has outsourced phone-answering and appointment-making so there is no reliable way to contact the office. I have to go to this office every month for the past five or six months and they have messed at least one thing every time. Made an appointment 6 months ago, only to have it canceled less than a week beforehand because the Dr. Hochman changed her hours. If you are going to change your hours, that is fine, but honor existing appointments or work hard to fit in those displaced appointments. The next appointment that they could offer was a month later. Dr. Patel was good and professional. Office staff was not. I had 2 meds prescribed. I gave the name of location of the pharmacy when asked by the nurse. When checking out I was assured that the prescription would already be at the pharmacy. When I arrived 30 minutes later, they were not there so I called the doctors office again. I was told they would be transmitted in 10 minutes, and they were not. I waited 3 hours and called back. Someone told me they would personally follow up on it and call me back. 3 hours passed and no call and no prescriptions. I called again, and it was someone new - they finally got me connected with I would guess a nurse or office manager. I told the story mentioned that I had not gotten a call back and she said "well you did not get a call back because we were probably seeing patients". No apology. She told me there was no location specified for the prescription. I had confirmed the exact location and address of the pharmacy two times in previous calls. I told her that, and she sighed irritatedly and said "ill take care of it" tersely. It finally showed up. Look - mistakes happen, but there was zero followup when they had committed to, very poor coordination, followed by a rude interaction from either the nurse or office manager (did not get her name).
