I was a walk in there today. Charles cut my hair, he was friendly and the price was a lot better than the competitors in the area.

Her expertise and honesty made me feel completely comfortable. The curls turned out beautiful, and the haircut is perfect. Trust the process--Gina knows what she's doing! The salon is clean, welcoming, and comfortable. The staff are all so friendly, and there's even a nice waiting area with coffee and water. Highly recommend Gina and the team. I'll definitely be back!

Luxury hair salons are lots of small talk and music, but working in the industry myself I sometimes enjoy winding down and art of silence lol. My experience : I checked in early but went straight to the wash bowl with another stylist. Gina my main stylist worked between me and 2 other customers which was no biggie because it worked. I showed her an inspiration video and almost showering her a 2nd one, she said no need. Ok Pro! Lol. But the 2nd inspo pic was for my bangs specifically. I have thicckkkkk hair and it was extra-long and all my friends know me for that. She asked if I wanted to keep the length and I said YES PLEASE. It's a tad shorter truthfully, and she took out too much weight than I would have liked. My hair looks like I have a layered bob cut with long extensions underneath. Not happy at first but thankfully my hair grows quickly & I'm positive when it grows, it's going to look good with the style she cut. I tipped her and went on my way. I might be back, depending on how my hair grows over the next few weeks. I would recommend this place because it has a brand new kind of sparkle.

I tried to double-check them on the salon's website before posting this, but it looks like their website domain has expired, so I had to go off memory. I found Sinister Salon on TikTok and loved the hairstyles they were posting, so I booked an appointment online for my teenager with Mikaela. We arrived a few minutes before opening and the shop was still closed. Not a big deal. Mikaela arrived about five minutes late, but that didn't bother me. The shop itself was okay. The restroom was clean, but the coffee table covered in magazines was also covered in crumbs, which was pretty gross. Halfway through my teen's haircut, another customer arrived for Zoey, who was running late and eventually came in with a baby in tow. As a mom, I understand that life happens. What bothered me more was how loud she was. I have no issue with swearing, especially at a place called Sinister Salon, but it was excessive. It felt like listening to a group of unsupervised teenage boys. Still, it wasn't directed at me, so I overlooked it. The important part is Mikaela did an amazing job. My kid loved the haircut, and it was exactly what they wanted. Because of that, when my younger daughter wanted a similar haircut, I booked Mikaela again. This time, when we arrived, I was told Mikaela wasn't there and that their online booking system was "a little wonky." We could either reschedule or have another stylist cut her hair. My daughter didn't want to wait. She showed him multiple photos and videos of the TikTok hairstyle she wanted. He then pulled up a TikTok DIY haircut tutorial on his own phone and followed it step by step, sectioning her hair into ponytails before cutting it. The whole process was concerning. The finished haircut looked nothing like what she'd asked for. I understand styling makes a difference, but this wasn't even cut in a way that could be styled into the look she wanted. It was just a basic haircut. My daughter seemed happy, so we paid and left. During that visit, Zoey joked that people named Zoey never book with her. Ironically, my daughter's name is Zoe, so next time she specifically wanted to book with Zoey. Before the appointment, I even called to make sure Zoey would actually be there because of the previous scheduling issue. The day of the appointment... she wasn't. She was running late again. After we waited for quite a while, another woman, who I assume was the owner or manager, asked if we'd mind if she got the haircut started. We showed her exactly what my daughter wanted, lots of layers with more of a scene-inspired style. She seemed experienced, but it quickly became obvious she wasn't adding many layers. Eventually Zoey arrived, once again with the baby. At that point I realized it probably wasn't a rare occurrence. The other stylist continued the haircut while Zoey got settled in, talked loudly, and swore excessively. She never took over. The haircut was neat, but once again it was just a basic cut that didn't resemble what we'd requested. My daughter initially said she liked it, so we paid and left. Once we got home and she really looked at it, she admitted it wasn't what she wanted because it barely had any layers. I ended up taking a razor to it myself and adding the texture and layering she'd originally wanted. Honestly, I feel like I could have saved myself the $60 and cut it myself. I'm definitely not a professional, but I do cut my own hair, and I was happier with the final result after fixing it. The biggest disappointment wasn't even the haircuts, it was the overall experience. Out of our three visits, two appointments couldn't be completed by the stylist we actually booked because one wasn't there and the other repeatedly showed up late. I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, which is why I came back a third time, but looking back, it wasn't worth it. I honestly think I could have gotten a more consistent experience at Supercuts. To be clear, I actually like the salon's alternative aesthetic that's what drew me there in the first place. But having an edgy vibe doesn't mean professionalism should go out the window. Even tattoo shops balance personality with professionalism. Unfortunately, I just didn't find that balance here. Sinister Salon has potential, but they really need to step up the professionalism if they want customers to keep coming back.

I am about 90% sure the technician was on her phone during a large portion of my service. I laid there for long stretches just listening to water run, with almost no hands-on massage. I never once got that deep, relaxing scalp massage feeling that you expect when someone actually uses their fingers and applies pressure. Instead, it felt like products were being lightly rubbed into my hair with no intention or technique behind it. At one point, it felt so awkward and inactive that I actually asked, "Okay, so what's going on now?" and the response I received was simply, "Nothing." That alone should tell you how disengaged the service felt. The entire experience was anticlimactic, and instead of relaxing, I couldn't wait for it to be over. To put it in perspective: my regular hairstylist massages my scalp for maybe one minute during a shampoo, and that single minute felt more intentional, relaxing, and valuable than the entire hour I spent here. I understand we live in a phone-obsessed generation, but even if someone is distracted, the absolute bare minimum should be making the service feel good. Unfortunately, this didn't meet even that standard. Huge letdown and not worth the money.

To avoid further pain, I decided to try to find someone to mend it by doing a search on Yelp, since I'm new to the area. I booked an appointment with the first available business who responded to me, and that happened to be Men's Barber Spa. Feeling confused, because I wasn't sure if they thought I was a man or if they usually only did men's nails, I hesitantly made my way over. But hey, men's and women's nails shouldn't be too different, so what could go wrong? It was a little difficult to find at first, but they're located to the right of Dollar Tree. I walked up to the door, still unsure if I was going to a men's salon, and when I read the signage, I was relieved, as I found out services for women are also offered. The customer service upon arriving was excellent, and I was impressed with the interior decor. It felt luxurious and modern - a crisp, clean aesthetic. I was then introduced to Kimara, who got to work figuring out how to salvage my torn nail, along with 3 other broken nails. I asked to keep my natural nails, if possible, and she recommended GelX nails for the broken ones, for a uniform length, since my unbroken ones were pretty long. Besides being the sweetest gem of a human being, Kimara did an amazing job on my nails and truly delivered. I wanted a natural nude pink for my nails, and she made the best recommendation - I sent my sister a pic and she was obsessed. I had such a great experience here and highly recommend Kimara for nail services. I met the owner and another barber as well, and everyone was just so nice and helpful. I will be coming back and also referring others here too!
