I had my order number and email confirmation of sale and the staff there, who was literally holding the item I purchased, said I have to wait until it is shipped from Calgary. Are you serious buddy? There was a disagreement between myself and my son regarding which board I was willing to put money out for, and the salesperson was obviously uncomfortable but politely indicated that he would be in another area while we fought it out. Once we moved onto the helmet section, he popped back over to see if we needed any help. I felt the service was pretty good, definitely friendly and the prices were slightly below the other over priced snowboard shops in town. I appreciated that it was brightly lit and a lot of space (I hate dark cramped stores!) I will definitely be checking them out next time we need to purchase more snowboarding equipment as they have it all. I was quickly looking at their jackets (I'm a mom who doesn't snowboard, so if they have a different name, you know what I mean) and they seemed reasonably priced compared to other snowboard companies.

They had an impressive selection of gear for the upcoming season but also a good carryover from last season on sale for 40% off. I wound up going with a Burton Deep Thinker from last season, and at 40% off, I was thrilled. Easy Rider has a huge selection of snowboards, boots and bindings as well as a good selection of outer wear. They also carry some pretty specific boards for carving and backcountry that you don't see in your average shop. They also have skateboards, longboards and stand up paddle boards to cover your summer sports. This is my go-to local shop for anything skate or snowboard related!

Terrible customer service and unreasonable unethical business practices . Order somewhere else!…read more My experience buying online as I have never been to the store in person: I found the pair of skates that I was looking for on the website and for my size it read "only one left in stock" so I went ahead and purchased it right away. I came back to the description page after paying for the order and noticed that at the bottom of the page when you scroll down, there was some text saying that they would not be actually available to ship for maybe 2-3 months. I immediately emailed and asked if, given the confusion from the website I would be able to cancel. They told me that the skates were actually in pre-order and they did not know when they would be available to ship, but 5 minutes later I had a cancelation email with the full purchase amount listed. I figured, since it was only 15 minutes between order and cancellation, the payment shown as pending on my credit card would just disappear, but A few days later, I checked my credit card and noticed that the full payment was billed and a refund for the total -40 dollar was issued. Note that this was not informed to me when I asked if a cancellation was possible nor when I received the cancellation email; which listed the full order amount. I emailed to ask about it, and instead of giving me an answer, I just received a screenshot with a red circle over the text "pre-orders subject to shipping charge when cancelled" or something along those lines. Not even a Hello, or any text on the email, just the passive aggressive screenshot. I sent an email offering pay for any hardship imposed during my 15 minutes of holding their inventory or processing fees for the credit card, but asking to reconsider a $40 fee for such a small amount of Time and effort, I did not hear back. In my opinion this is a very unethical practice. $40 dollars is such an unreasonable cancellation fee, specially when the skates are not even in-stock. I can't see how my 15 minutes of confusion could have caused this cost to be incurred . Even if there was nothing that could be done, I would have expected an explanation on why the $40 dollar was spent or a quick note instead of just ignoring me and sending rude screenshots. This is not good customer service and it makes it seem like they just made an easy $40 dollars by doing absolutely nothing and within 15 minutes of not very hard work.

I ordered a Parka, as a gift, from MEC's online Black Friday sale on November 29, 2024. Having…read morebeen in the Edmonton south common store a few days before, and observing many in stock, the deal was too good not to order. As I placed my order, it indicated that the downtown store was "Next Day Pick Up". Given that I wanted to pick up as soon as possible, I selected the downtown store, even though the location is terribly inconvenient for me. Approximately 24 hours later, I called the downtown store, whom after about 25 mins on the phone with various people, told me they had no record of the purchase. Of course, I couldn't go pick up the jacket, the next day, at a location that was inconvenient, because MEC hadn't even processed the Order as of yet. Great. I called the customer service line and spoke to a male who told me "this sale has caught us completely off guard and we're overwhelmed". No kidding?? The male told me that there had been staff cutbacks this year, due to how slow it had been, but suddenly the sale has regenerated sales that have overwhelmed the existing employees Ok ... the spokesperson then told me that my jacket was in Winnipeg and had to be shipped to Edmonton! What is going on here, MEC?? You hold a Black Friday sale and you're overwhelmed??? Then my next day pick up, at this inconvenient location, is in Winnipeg??? The kicker is December 16, 2024, I received an email from MEC telling me that my order has been cancelled. My goodness. I've been a supporter of MEC for over 25 years, and have never seen such awful customer service or a absolute lack of responsibility in fulfilling an order - for that matter, I don't think I've ever had a more disappointing exchange with any store, ever, than this experience. I took it to the Edmonton store downtown. The manager was sympathetic but refused to exchange it, despite suuntu having a lifetime warranty. Take your business to Amazon or somewhere else.
