I started going here regularly this Fall when I began school at WWU. I love it! The facility is…read moreclean and beautiful. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. This gym includes plenty of equipment for both cardio and strength training. It has a track which overlooks several basketball courts (which are also used for things such as volleyball and badminton). There is a rock wall which is used for bouldering and belaying. They also have a pool and hot tub. When I visit I usually attend one of the many classes that are taught here. All the instructors are great, and classes vary to accommodate all fitness levels. The best part is that unlimited classes cost only $45 per quarter! Classes are normally $5 each, so you save quite a bit if attending more than one each week. Personal training is also inexpensive, though I have never tried it. To attend this gym you have to be affiliated with WWU in some way, though you are able to attend as a guest if you are attending with a current member. Membership is free for students taking 6+ credits, and inexpensive for anyone else who qualifies for membership.

Ok so it's almost the end of April and summer is coming so I will let you in on my secret but…read moreplease don't take my time slot ok? ;) It's been over a year and I am still working out at FGT, twice a week for 60 minutes with my husband. For the past 5 months, we have been training exclusively with Christian. He brings maturity and experience far beyond his years. He plans each workout in advance and tracks our progress. Each workout is different and never boring! He pushes us hard but is also careful and checks in as for example, I had an injury (non gym related) and he is always watching to make sure I don't hurt myself. He combines muscle, balance, cardio and flexibility in his workouts. He corrects our form (so we don't get hurt). He is hands on throughout the session and constantly encourages us. We have had significant results since training with Christian. Our efforts are optimized for time that we spend training. Some of the benefits we have reaped from training with Christian include; loss of body fat, increased lean muscle mass, improved flexibility, improved endurance, better coordination and balance, consistency (he has never cancelled on us!), motivation and so much more. I also go to 30 minute fit which is included in the package of training sessions we purchased. I almost always go at the times when there is a trainer in the room as I want to be corrected if I am not doing something right. (Again I don't want to get injured and I want success sooner than later...) it usually takes me a few more minutes than 30 but it's fast and a great, quick workout. They have different packages available but just know that this is NOT anything like the gyms down the street. Not at all! When you walk in the door, you are recognized and you will recognize the others. Crowded here means maybe 3 people in the 30 minute fit room? Seriously it's very small, there is no drama, no fashion show..no cold stare downs or whatever is going on in those other gyms ;) It's small. It's friendly. People are genuine. Hard work = results and you will have all the support you need right here.

I was completely nervous but just threw myself in it and I've loved 30 min fit ever since..being a mom of toddler twins i don't have much time for myself so this group training worked perfect for my schedule! I go in the evening with Melissa as my trainer at that time of day, shes helped motivate me and make me feel more confident in myself while showing me proper ways to do the circuit..im glad I made the leap and will push myself to stay consistent.. One of the best parts of moving back to the Ham was discovering a brand new Club Pilates in town! I…read moretook their free introductory class and was hooked. I had never done Pilates before, but had always been intrigued. The 1/2 hour intro class was a fun way to check out the space, spend some quality time on the Reformer, and decide that I wanted to try this more! Fast forward a month, and I'm about to take my 10th class. My body already feels better - not just stronger, but more limber, a little more balanced, and generally just better after a busy-but-sluggish winter. A great bonus has been the "me" time for some mental clarity and general de-stressing. So far I've taken the CP Reformer 1 and Center & Balance classes, but hope to try some other classes as I become more experienced and comfortable with the equipment and techniques. The instructors are each a little different, and it's been fun getting to know their individual styles. My only issue is that their app (which is tied to the bigger CP brand, not necessarily to the Bham studio) is clunky at times. Twice now, it's shown that I have class credits available, but I've been unable to book without calling. The good news is, they are always friendly and helpful when I call. :) Looking forward to what the future holds as I continue my Pilates journey!

All the front desk lady told me was that it was 90$ for four classes that I could use up until the following month. After my four classes I didn't plan to re attend due to money being tight. But they kept trying to charge my card. That's when I discovered I signed up for three months. It was my fault for not reading it but it was presented to me as a waiver. Now they are going to try to charge me 100$ just to not go back there. The way they had me do a free class and not properly explain anything was very predatory. Why would i pay them for a service I do not want.

I have been going to Bellingham Yoga Collective (BYC) for a few months now. I started with the 3…read moreweek pass for an introductory price. I took advantage and took 10 classes during this period. The space is on the 3rd floor of the recently remodeled Granary Building. There is nice bright lobby with reception desk that has been staffed I have been there. Check-in for class is pretty easy, there is an iPad on a stand where participants find their name and tap "check-in". A sign indicates what props will be needed for the class. Props are neatly stacked to the left after entering. The two bathrooms are always clean and are spacious. The yoga room is a simple hard wood space with windows to the north. I (male) have often been the only male in the class, but with the weather getting colder, the mix of participants has increased. I have enjoyed all the instructors, they are kind, helpful, and very good at leading classes. I have taken part in Gentle/Restorative, Hatha, and Vinyasa classes. The times work pretty well for me. There is usually a 7AM class, then 9:30AM, then noon. Those are the classes I have attended (my schedule has been flexible lately). Only once has my class been sold out, a Sunday AM Hatha class, 40 people fit in that room. I have had a number of teachers ask my name, that has been nice, adds a personal touch to attending classes. BYC has a lot of special events, too, I have not attended any, but it's good to know they are there when I am ready to give one a try.

Super friendly staff, easy signup process.. they accept Senior fitness programs like Silver Sneakers and Silver&Fit and if you have those, the only cost to you is the $10 fee for the membership card, and that's doable, right? There's a good selection of classes to choose from and they're included in the membership and my opinion is, classes are much more fun and compelling than just trudging along solo on a treadmill or pumping out reps, y'know? The only downside (to me) is they don't have a hot tub or sauna.. but they do have nice showers with endless hot water, which can be soothing...
