He had a tent set up to care for the runners returning from the race. Loren, as he preferred to be called ,noticed I was favoring my right side and asked if I wanted a free evaluation. He found many of my back joints were misaligned causing the nerves to be aggravated. I set up an appointment and started to see him regularly. He's not your average "bone cracker." He uses muscle massage as well as traditional chiropractic methods. I was 54 years old then and didn't know how I was going to make it to retirement with my bad back. After just a few treatments most of my back pain was gone. He suggested that I start using my gym more regularly and gave some specified exercises to strengthen my core and quads. I had a few subsequent injuries on the job but he returned me to full strength every time! Well I made it to retirement at 62 and feel better than I did throughout my 40's and early 50's. They are two of the most friendly, professional & personable people I have met, besides my PT, Jackie! Jackie has made this experience something I look forward to & actually enjoy. When I started, I had the odd request of having my coach be involved in my care. It was something that hadn't been done before, but she made the necessary arrangements & I am truly grateful to have that continuity of care. Jackie has pushed me to tackle some challenging movements that I didn't think were ever going to be possible with the extent of my injury. Since starting with Jackie, I've had so many firsts- I was able to complete my first ever squat snatch after years of training; lunges & am slowly working toward box jumps. I even found the confidence to sign up for my first weightlifting competition, because my knee feels THAT good.
