In addition they quoted $950.00 to install 2 toilets, and we were supposed to provided the toilets. I have used Blaze multiple times over the last few months for electrical work. Javier has always done a good job and I really like him a lot. However, the last two people to come out have overcharged and attempted to sell us service we don't need. Tara came out because we needed a thermostat moved. She was super nice and personable and told us about a wireless thermostat that wouldn't require holes in our walls but it was $1000. I was shocked. I called the manager to ask about why it was so expensive and if I could see a receipt for their cost and he gave me the runaround about how it's a pro thermostat and you can't buy it online and no receipt. We got suckered and bought it. When Tara left the box it came in, I looked it up and could buy it multiple places for $125-150. I feel so scammed by someone who seemed so trustworthy. Recently we had an outlet issue and called for Javier. They sent someone else who fixed the issue (although we are still having some problems with it) and he took it upon himself to inspect our home's electrical. He told us there was a big issue with the wrong wiring and our power boxes should be replaced at the cost of $7,200. Having already felt robbed by them, I called a home inspector with an electrical license with nothing to gain by selling us anything. Turns out the only issue is Duke Energy's wires to the house are old and only they can fix that. I'm so upset because our initial experiences with them (Javier) were good. But now I can't trust anything they say. I'm finding someplace else. read more

Called for a repair on our air conditioner. As we aren't "members", we were put at the bottom of each day's list of repairs. Only once in the next week did they actually get around to us - and left a message at the wrong number (my desk phone at work) asking if we'd be available in half an hour. I scheduled an appointment back on April 19th with them to do a check up on my heat pump. On May 16, the day of the appointment, nobody called. When I called to find out when the guy was going to come by, I was told they had a few "emergencies" and when could I reschedule. I've asked customer service to have a manager call me back. Blaze recently performed the 1st annual service. The hvac was working fine and the technician said everything was good. After he left that day, the ac stopped cooling. Two others came out the next day and the charge was high to research the problem. They said there was a leak and it had probably been going on for a year. I called to discuss the issue and was told the manager, Josh, would call. No response for over a week. I would still like to discuss the issue. I am not satisfied with the service or the fees. read more

I had used Blaze Heating & Air for years, and had be very pleased with the company; however, after the owners sold the company, things started going down hill. I had a home service contract with Blaze... and they allowed it to run out... never received a call or message about it. I would call in and ask to speak to a manager, was told I would get a callback, but there never was a callback... this happened at least twice. I emailed in, again, at least twice, and never heard back from anyone... and I did confirm the email address when I called in and spoke to an agent. I've heard from other customers (and an ex-employee) that what I experienced was not isolated to just me. It's too bad Blaze was acquired by another company (or two)... but such things happen. What's really bad is not following-up... that there basically should be no excuse for... a note on the computer or even a Post-It note keeps that from happening. As simple as this is to do... it tells me that the "New Blaze" isn't anything like the "Old Blaze". In all fairness, when I called today (11/1/22) to find out about my contract, and found out that Blaze had allowed it to lapse months ago... once again, I did request to speak to a supervisor, and was once again told I'd be called back. This time, there was a callback... but I shared with the supervisor that I had moved on to another company for my HVAC needs, and why. read more

I called Blaze Air to have them replace the hardwired smoke detector. The guy came out and told me about the monthly membership and I asked him if I could cancel it if I wanted and he said of course you can. Now they want almost $300 out of me to cancel. I want to cancel because I can't afford them. I'm paying $21.00 a month and getting nothing. They have been out to do maintenance on my system and charged me a lot! Then I had a faucet I wanted replaced and they wanted almost $400! This company is brutal. I'm calling the consumer protection bureau. The manager won't even talk to me and sent an offer for me to buy out my contract through an office worker there. They are awful. ​ read more

I have been a heat/air customer for years. Just recently found that they have added plumbing and electrical. Jeff just replaced my 60 year old iron sewage pipe in the basement which was beginning to corrode and replaced it with brand new pvc in four hours! Plus on inspection yesterday repaired two failing plumbing safety parts same day. I couldn't be happier with the service! Looking forward to finally getting a built in dishwasher in the spring. My experience was not good! First the answering service there using is terrible! They clearly don't understand the business there working for. Then they send someone out that doesn't do what I originally requested? Fine, then they send another guy out who also doesn't do the work I need! But has no problem pushing a new Ac unit for 13 k when there's absolutely nothing wrong with one's I have! This is clearly a company that doesn't communicate internally. I will not! Use them again! My service was scheduled months in advance. I confirmed by text as well. No one showed up for 4 hours. The service manager literally talked over me, told me "customers without working air conditioning take priority over you" although I have a service contract. I was never notified they would not show up. The service manager continued to be extremely rude and said I was not paying enough for my contract because I have many air units. I cancelled my service and will never use them again. All he had to do was listen, apologize for not having a working schedule, and try to work hard to meet the prepaid customers' work. Apparently, if you make an appointment more than a month in advance for annual maintenance on 5 HVAC units, two of which were purchased new from Blaze in the past year, this company will cancel the day of without any notice. I had to call them to see why they were late and was only then told they would fail to meet their commitment. Totally unexpected and unprofessional. Talk about regret. I have a warranty that they must maintain so I'm stuck with them, but so disappointed. Also, I asked for someone to call me back and as my appointment window ends in 30 minutes it's been crickets. 0/10, would not recommend. read more

Whoever is driving your Vans on the road needs to retake their driving test speeding cutting people off causing danger on the roads. As a business you should not be flying 20 miles over the speed limit cutting people off. Whoever's AC is out can wait and extra minute or two speeding is not the answer. I will be leaving one for my experience with them for heating and air conditioning work. My heat pump recently quit working. The techs came out and seemed very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They diagnosed the problem, called the home office who then quoted me roughly $5k for a repair. They did state that once that repair was done, possible harm could have been done to the compressor and they said that could be another $4k-5k if that were to go out. In addition, they said that I was 5lbs. low on freon (@$300 for the 1st pound and $145 for each subsequent lb. total $880). Given all of the above, they proposed I consider a change out of the entire unit out vs. spending the money on the repair. I asked for a quote on a new system so that I could weigh my options. Their quote for a new system was over $25,000.00! I told them I would need to think things over (meaning get other quotes) and they responded with, 'what can we do to make a deal today?' At that point my B*lls**t alarm went off, I paid them and thanked them for their time and they left. I then called a different company who came out and diagnosed essentially the same problem as Blaze, however recommended a much less involved/expensive repair. This company disagreed with the 'damage to the compressor' statement made by Blaze saying there are controls built into the system to protect the compressor. After performing the repair, new company checked the freon levels and it wasn't low at all (incidentally it also only held a tad over 5lbs). Total repair cost with new company?? $1,200.00. By the way, the quote for a new heat pump with New company?? $8,000.00. Might not be exactly the same unit but roughly the same seer level and a name brand quality unit. I personally will never use Blaze again. Up until this episode, I trusted Blaze but always knew they were an expensive company to work with. My opinion now is that in addition to expensive, they are also either crooked, incompetent or perhaps some of both. If you are considering using them, I urge you to also get other prices and/or second opinions. read more

This is absolutely ridiculous. You have main job. To install AC unit and air handler. Why this $20,000 job has continued to fail inspection in our incompetence. Multiple visits and we continue to fail. Had the unit installed 6 months ago and took them months to come back out to fix it and still didn't fix it correctly. The issue would allow the unit to overheat. So great. This expensive unit could get fried because of their gross negligence. read more

I've used Blaze Air previously-never any issues. They became my go to for HVAC until today!!! I also carry a service contract yearly which is supposed to give me perks. Guess I should read the literature because it doesn't warrant priority like I was told. Their rates are the same 24/7 according to advertisement so after 5 shouldn't be an issue when your hours are 12am-12am!!! I called because my system is not cooling brushed off as if this is not an issue, when I stated the temp inside is 83. When I raised concern I was told hold on let me ask the manager if this is an emergency!!! It's an emergency for me!! Tomorrow is not acceptable when I'm an established customer. read more

I called 2 weeks ago for service and apparently received an answering service who took my contact info. Nobody ever called me back so I went online a few days later and received an email and text that my appointment was confirmed for today. I called the office twice this morning to get an arrival window and both times I was told that my appointment is not confirmed until the technician calls to say they're on the way. They further stated that it would likely be 2-3 weeks from now. Naturally they were a no call no show so I wasted a day sitting at home. I do not recommend! I am open to discussing the result with management. change my mind!!! On April 13 2023, I was 1.5 days post-op on a shoulder surgical repair. My second surgery repairing damage to the shoulder resulting from an injury while I was serving in Iraq. So, yesterday (4/13/23) my toilet became plugged (happens every few months/ old toilet problems) and so I did not have the strength with my non dominant arm to use the plunger, though I made a great effort none the less. With two arms this has never been an issue. Having no one around to help with the problem, I called Blaze Heating, plumbing and air about the issue, once realizing I wasn't able to fix it. They quoted a dispatch fee of 99.00, also said that the tech would quote the repair price and if I chose for him to do the work, then the dispatch fee was waived. Tech arrived and took a look at the issue. Didn't make an honest effort to attempt to clear with my plunger, he preferred to use the toilet snake/ company equipment. The quote was 245.00 to snake the toilet, the other option was their maintenance membership for 256.00 that came with all the Hvac checkups, plumbing and electrical inspections for a year. Not wanting to pay 99.00 for the dispatch and call out a different company, I just went with the membership, though I told the technician in the beginning I wasn't wanting a membership. Anyway, having to pay an outrageous amount of money just to clear a soft plug from a toilet is beyond what would be a reasonable expense. I feel the technician took advantage of my current disability and toilet issue. It could have been resolved with the plunger. read more

I hate to post negative reviews about local businesses, but they became fairly nasty when I tried to resolve my issue with directly. They charged $180 for a 35/5 Jard capacitor. This part (the exact brand) can be found online for between $6 and $13. They attempted to cover this up by refusing to give us an itemized invoice. In addition, the technician was a little rude to my wife when they provided service. Overall, it was just not worth dealing with this company when there are other quality options in Winston-Salem. read more

We chose Blaze Air because we thought we could trust them. The salesman told us that they would install a filter at the system and we didn't need to put filters in the 2 existing ones. After the install I called and ask about the filter they had added and a tech called me back and said he was not sure if it was there or not but would find out, he never called me back. I called a second time and a man answered that said he was a tech and said that they had put this filter he, he saw it. So, I thought about checking the filter upstairs that they added but didn't know exactly what to do, so I called in and the girl said she would just send a tech by. The tech came right out and it was a woman who who has has been doing this work for some time. I am sorry that I don't remember her name but I don't. She took me in the attic and immediately told me, "there is no filter up there". She explained that the filter they added to a system would have been at the furnace which I only had the AC system replaced???? She told me much more than the other techs knew! Obviously I was lied to because Blaze tech's don't know much about this system!! I have recommended Blaze to quite a few and several said they were going to do something after the first of the year. I have contacted everyone and let them know that I don't trust Blaze anymore!! I will contact Trane and ask who else I can use for warranty. The entire team at Blaze Air is exceptional. From the reception desk to the technician, we could not be happier with their service. We live in a 1918 house with a gas boiler from the late 1970s, that heats our home through water radiators. Dave, our technician was so polite and worked for more than three hours to replace seals, clean pipes, remove rust and seal old pipes that wouldn't budge. He did only what was necessary to get things working and to keep our expenses down. A fool people-up phone call a few hours later to make sure everything was working properly. Receptionists were caring, polite, and helpful to find a service window for my crazy schedule and got us same-day service on a cold and damp day. Their Customer Service has been disappointing and frustrating over many years. We are diligent in maintaining our heat pumps and change filters every 1-3 months. Here are examples of our experiences with Blaze technicians and office staff. They are frequently late by an hour for scheduled service maintenance calls with no calls by technician. The office staff often states they are having computer problems and scheduled appointments somehow disappear from their system. The Customer Service team leader Mike does not demonstrate good people skills. I have worked in Customer Service for over 20 years and have never talked down to a client like we experienced with him. They have been reluctant to clean the coils on the outside units and had one tech say, "Oh, ok, if you REALLY want me to." As a result, I have a low level of trust and confidence with Blaze Air. I'm currently looking for another company. read more

Do not buy from this company. We purchased a house last year with a recently installed Hvac system from this company. The HVAC during the walk through was advised to be new but the man inspecting the house said it was weird that the HVAC was constantly running which normally would mean it was undersized for the house. After a year of living in the house with super high electric bills the system breaks!!! we call and instead of getting help were told we had to wait a week for someone to come out. After some arguing we did get someone there to look at the unit. The tech then tells us there is 'nothing' wrong all he did was wiggle wires and it started back up..... we had to pay 95 dollars even though on the phone we were quoted 89. But less than a week later on a HOLIDAY the unit breaks again now making the unit on 2 years and 2 days old. The tech advised the fan broke and the part had to be ordered and we would have someone call us about when it will be in...... no call was made to us we had to call them. They then tell us that the part is covered but the labor will cost us $310. The warranty is for 10 years but the fine print indicated the labor is not 10 years only 2... We ask for more information on the price and instead of getting an answer they tell us we will get a call back. over 24 hours later we finally get a call back with a $10 discount. While waiting we contacted many other companies advising their rates for that kind of install and they all quotes $85- 110. Moral of the story is go somewhere else. Look at the warranty information and decide if a 10 year warranty on part but not on labor then having double labor costs compared to all other companies. I didn't have a choice in who installed mine but I will never go through them again for ANYTHING with the service we got or I mean haven't been getting. read more
