I come to Blaze about once a week. I teach in downtown Newark and Blaze is just what I need at the end of a school day. The staff is super friendly and will always check in on how you are doing and your if your food is just right. The Build your Own option keeps the options different every time. Fresh as fresh can be. Flavorful and wide variety of toppings. You can get arugula put on fresh after your pie has been fully baked. My only issue is the $3.00 up charge for a gluten free crust. $3 is a lot. It took my $8and change pie to a $12and change pie after taxes. Going to have to look for coupon deals. Edited to add the $3 up charge for a gluten free crust now baffles me. One can literally order a regular pie, with every single topping, and pay regular price while getting a lot in toppings, and pay $3 extra for a simple tomato sauce/cheese gluten free pie. I think the $3 up charge for GF dough is excessive. I was behind a fella who did just that - kept having the pie maker put more and more and more of pretty much everything on his pie. My sad gf pie could not have cost $3 more to be made, nor cost $3 in lost profits were the up charge not charged. read more

I ordered a protein pizza earlier from the store in Newark, NJ and there was barely any meat on the pizza other than the ham. Also, I asked the employees about the nutritional content pertaining to how many carbs were in the pizza and no one who worked there could tell me anything about it. I feel like I got cheated on my pizza because it wasn't like I saw advertised on the website. It wasn't even close to what it looked like with the meat in the picture. I even tried to call the store before I ordered like 4 times and no one ever picked up. When I did go to pick up my pizza, the employees were just talking with each other with their back turned to me for a long period of time. I'm like, where is the customer service here. But yeah, its Newark so what do you expect. I'm going to try the Livingston store next time and see how that goes, if its just that store or the whole chain. read more

We had never eaten here before and found the staff very helpful and patient in explaining the way to order. We are very fussy about our Pizza - we make our own when home - and really love a thin crust. We live in Manhattan and pizza restaurants or just places that serve pizza say theirs is thin-crusted and most of the time it's not. Blaze Pizza IS thin crusted and it is terrific. Worst customer service ever! Sad part is that Newark already has a bad rep, but when you get to this place and deal with the workers, you understand why Newark is not thriving. One guy who was taking orders (Friday Feb 2nd 7pm, light skin) was literally cursing people out under his breath as he saw more customers coming in. He was throwing the dough and messing it up constantly. Completely miserable and worst attitude I experienced. There was only one female who was nice, tall dark skin with glasses. They should get rid of the whole staff, rehire and train these people so their service would be up to people's expectations. read more

My mom brother and I ate here about two hours ago. We are from out of town, had no idea what we were doing and the very friendly staff greeted us and explained how this place worked. Which was a testament to their patience and courtesy because I am the queen of the indecisive. The first thing I noticed was that it was 30 minutes before closing, and they were still fairly full. It was also really clean, and had a great atmosphere. The music was a bit loud, but by the time we sat there were not many people left. We ended up ordering three different pizzas; cheese, a make your own and a veg out. Their ingredients were so fresh and SO good. They make it very personal, using your name, and they let each of us know when our pizza was going into the oven. When they say three minutes, they mean three minutes. We also ordered on of their s'mores which they warmed it for us and it was awesome. My brother (who works in the hospitality field) is currently using words like sublime for their customer service. We have no complaints about the food or the service. It was so good. read more

Used to love coming here till the inevitable occurred. The same staff that would greet you, make sure your pizza was right, and take care of everything got complacent and comfortable in the job they worked so hard to get. Service is the worst. Instead of being proactive when shit gets tough the employees just go to the back. Customers that placed online orders were waiting for so long. The funniest shit was that the employees were pointing at pizzas coming out the oven asking if this was their pizza. One customer never got her pizza and they had to make one. The employees are a disgrace. The owner / management should take a page out of Starbucks next door and hire competent presentable employees. The most disappointing thing was while customers were waiting for their food an employee who was on break was able to get his food and extras from the other employees. Fuck this place. read more

Eaten here twice now. You can never mess up pizza. For less than $6 I make my own plain cheese pizza with 2 types of cheeses and a spicy tomato sauce. That too on a thin crust dough. The pizzas are made to order and you can choose from a variety of toppings. I love this place! It does get crowded so get there early if you plan to find a place to sit. read more

This is probably my favorite pizza place that I have gone to ever. I'm the type of friend that is lame because I might say "Oh pizza has too much grease and makes your body unhealthy." Apparently now i'm on the pizza's side. My mom brought me here a couple of months ago and she did a "build your own". I liked it a lot and now, it is the only pizza place I ever go to. Also they give you great service and your order comes up real fast so you don't have to wait. Great service and relatively quick! I like that you can create your own pizza and that they have different options so you can pick something cheaper and a little more basic if you're not trying to save some money. All the workers at this location are super friendly, so it's a very welcoming environment. Only downside is that the women's restroom was very very dirty one time that I went. What I liked about this restaurant was the green stripe pizza and the beet and goat cheese salad and that it was open relatively late for the area. What think can be further enhanced is letting the shift leader make corrections to incorrect billing. I also think there can be a better selection of salads or sizes as when I arrived there was exactly one type and size to pick from. Blaze pizza on broad street is awesome. They offer a variety of ingredients and three types of pizza dough. Gluten free, high-rise and regular. Everything is healthy and fresh. I would just recommend to download the Blaze app via iPhone or android to order online. You can also earn points upwards to a free pizza. Oh and did I mention that when you download the app they give you a free drink and they are always giving out free stuff like desserts and sodas all the time. read more

As a student on the campus nearby, finding affordable food is always a struggle. This place is absolutely the best option. Fresh & healthy ingredients, great location, unlimited toppings...what more could you ask for? On top of all that, the service is perfect. Blaze Pizza​ is a restaurant​ that I truly enjoy eating at because of the great food and affordable prices. However, tonight my experience at Blaze Pizza was not as great as it usually is. Wendy, one of the people helping make my pizza, was extremely rude and gave me attitude when I asked her to simply put some garlic on the crust of my pizza, which she did not do. Also, when checking out, I forgot to order a drink. It seemed as if she was annoyed that I wanted to do a separate​ transaction just to get a drink. It seemed as if Wendy was also not paying attention to the customers​ since she was texting on her phone as she was working behind the counter. I felt that Wendy did not have the happy to serve attitude that most of the other employees​ have when I eat there. I was very disappointed​ to see this kind of service at a place that I truly like to eat at. read more

I'm giving one star because I have to. I waited 20 minutes for my pizza. I designed my pizza so when I saw it being given away I spoke up. I was assured that or was not my pizza being taken and to avoid conflict, I figured o was wrong. As I see more and more people that came in after me getting their orders I go to the register and inquire again about my pizza. Lo and behold my pie was given away. I request a refund. As I'm getting my refund I ask the African American man behind the counter if it usually takes 20 minutes for a pie and he ignores me so I ask agin. He hands me my change and walks away. So I walk over to him and remind him that I haven't been rude at all and it is customary to offer an apology. I wasted 20 minutes and am walking out hungry. This is my first and last time ever visiting Blaze pizza. It's nice that they are getting business but I've seen businesses come and go and alienating customers is not a good idea. read more
