My new local pizzeria. It's hard to come by single slice pizza joint but they have it all here. We usually order a half pie of pepperoni and supreme and it's about $24-$25 and the slices are large. Usual pick up is about 15 mins. Sales associates are friendly and on point. Their wings are pretty awesome too! Pizza craving ... Yelp to the rescue and I realized I was close to Avenue Pizza so I said let's go! Reading the reviews and looking at the menu I was moved to not just order pizza and decided to also go with the chicken snack wraps. Since I knew the wraps were made to order I requested that my slice be heated up so I could eat it while I was waiting ... no inside seating but I was able to eat the entire slice leaning up against the window ... the slice was GOOD! Cheesy a little flop yet still crispy .... I've got to come back to try their specialty pizzas bc the variety sounds insane! The snack wraps were HUGE with 3 to an order and were YUMMY! Ordered delivery thru Slice of 2 chicken quesadillas with chicken and shrimp. Came to $42.00. Both wrong. Called restaurant and let them know. They said they would give me price adjustment but that's not what I wanted I wanted correct order. I told them it was expensive to receive the wrong order. His reply was it's not that expensive it's how much food cost. I don't pay for wrong food. Unfortunately they lost a good customer. I give them alot of corporate business also. Not happy with them not making order correct. My pockets aren't as deep as theirs so 42.00 to me is a lot ! read more

A buddy of mine had just moved to the area so we started looking for places to eat nearby. Avenue pizza showed up with pretty good reviews. We had ordered a Thai chilli chicken pie, marguerita pie, and some garlic knots online. It should have taken 45 minutes and he even received a text from the website service that it's ready soon. When we went there on time, our order was on the queue on a printed paper...and they just didn't start making it. They tell us the text is on some automated system they have no control over. They tell us to come back in 15 to 20 minutes. It's fine since we're nearby. But we came back in 25 minutes and they still did not finish the garlic knots so there was even more waiting. As for the food, I actually liked their crust which is how I judge pizza shops. Not too crunchy and not too much like soft bread. The Thai chilli chicken was alright, tasted like sweet Thai chilli sauce on pizza. The marguerita seemed like they made a pizza with no cheese and put a slice of cold mozzarella cheese at the last minute. Garlic knots were pretty soft though. Pricing was surprising too. The Thai chilli chicken being specialty is expected to be a little pricier. But the marguerita being the same cost and a little dissapointing, it loses points. This experience was all over the place. I wouldn't recommend it however my friend did say he would try again but call directly to make the order. Maybe it makes a difference ordering that way. read more

Saw they went viral for their snack wraps i just had to try it. This is my 3rd time having it however it never stood a chance for me to take a pic as i would eat it before i could think of a photo. However, make no mistake about it this is the go to place for snack wraps! Can't believe i didn't know about them. Now they're going to get tired of me. The penne vodka from Avenue Pizza is definitely top notch. Possibly the best I've had in the area! The Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls I wouldn't recommend, as they lacked some flavor. The service was pretty quick though, with our takeout order being ready in less than 20 minutes! I would return to try some other things on their menu. read more

I enjoy taking my kids out for pizza. First off, there's no place to sit inside. Secondly, the pizza cheese is extra thick and greasy. You can see the grease as soon as you get the pie. It definitely isn't the worst pizza in the area, but i wouldn't really call it good. The atmosphere is promising though. They have cool decor, a big tv as you wait for your food, and a friendly staff. The drawing of SpongeBob and Patrick is definitely cool! That sale sign caught my eye so I definitely will be back to try $1 wings. I'll be back to try the wing special, probably not the pizza though. read more

I had the ability to try them opening night! They definitely have a few kinks to work out, but they did an all around good job. I tried calling them and was on hold for 20 minutes, called 2 more times, another 10 minutes each. Wife calls as im on hold and orders in seconds! Lucky her... They have street parking, but it's hit and miss... they did a decent job renovating inside. Its a modern rustic look. Everything is brand new so its all shiny and polished. I think that its supposed to be an upscale old school pizza joint. The crew were all running around like crazy! Now onto the food! We ordered 6 items, 1 they were out of and 1 they got wrong... no biggie its their first night! Lets statt with what gave them their name! We got a fat boy pizza. Chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, fries and vodka sauce. It went together pretty well. The sauce was great! The dough, it definitely needed something... it was a bit on the bland and dry side. The rest were all deep fried and as good as they get from being frozen. All together, they did come together in a delicious pie. We also ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad pie, and got a Chicken Caesar Salad, no pie.... they were going crazy so I didn't have them fix it. I don't know if they make their own dressing but it had an amazing flavor to it! And something had a hint of spice! Can't wait to try it on a pizza next time. The rest is a tad bit more downhill sadly. We ordered a potato and egg hero, but when I walked in they said they were going to call us and tell us they couldn't make it, so I swapped it for a grilled chicken hero. Bread was similar to Lenny's and John's, nice and soft. The chicken needed something, it was juicy but bland. Same with the lettuce and tomatoes. A little on the bland side. It needed some sort of kick! Coming up next was the bacon wrapped mozzarella sticks. They were typical frozen sticks, nothing special, and only half were wrapped in bacon. I think that this needs a little tweaking! At least wrap 1 stick with 1 whole slice of bacon, stick a toothpick in it, then deep fry it. It also needs a dip, wich it didn't come with. Up next was the garlic knot bread bowl. It is very deceptive.. it was 6 knots smoothed together to form a ring, and there was gravy inside... I was expecting a massive knot smothered with garlic and seasoning on the outside, and a well inside with gravy... they need to tweak this a bit as well. Lastly, we got the dessert empanadas! Unfortunately I'm full and didn't get a chance to try it yet, but I will update my review with the results All in all. They replaced a nice classic old school pizzeria. I'd have to go back and try the plain, as well as other combinations to make a much better assessment. The vibe inside doesn't really fit into the neighborhood, its upscale clubby. Staff is very friendly! Except for the lady that put me on hold for almost an hour as I drove home.... I think that opening night was successful, hopefully when things calm down, they can be much better! read more

Perfect way to spend a cheat meal. The choices are insane here and the quality of the food is outstanding. The fat boy pizza was phenomenal but make sure it does not get soggy! The chopped cheese was my favorite though. Portion sizes are crazy as well and not too expensive despite one serving can feed at least two people. The first time I went to everything was okay. However, the second time I went, a lady at the cash register was being a little unprofessional. She had customers to serve and take their orders but she was busy scrolling on her phone almost ignoring us. I am 100% sure it was not on purpose but it was a little irritating. I've been coming here for a little while now and I'm absolutely shocked at what just happened to me. I was ready to order my first chopped cheese ever (I am on my 40 minute lunch break), when the cook who here's me ordering decide to leave and go get himself a coffee. When I asked how long it would take, the girl behind the desk says "about 10 minutes." All of a sudden it hits me that the cook chose his coffee over the customer, I thought it was crazy rude and unprofessional to expect the customer to wait for you get a coffee like my time is not valuable. This experience has me not wanting to come back and this has become one of my favorite spots around. But for any owner to allow an employee to just leave customers waiting is unacceptable to me. Quite disappointed with tonight's order. I have ordered from here multiple times and I get the same thing, thai chili wings and bbq wings. Unfortunately, tonight they tasted horrible. They close at 11pm but when i arrived at 9:20Pm there were no cheese pizza or pepperoni pizza available and no new pies were being made. I was told I can only select the pizzas that were out on display, which didn't look the most appealing. Oh my goodness the wings! I know everyone writes about the Thai sweet chili wings but seriously-- seriously. So delicious. If you ask for them crispy, they will crisp them up perfectly-- without burning them. A lovely staff even when it's busy in there they make time for a greeting and a smile. I'm not wild about the pizza-- but honestly everyone else in my family loves it. I think it's take-out only. Our food is always perfect and ready on time. Yea so, I don't really know how to say this other than the absolute truth. Which is, Avenue Pizza has the best wings in town, hands down. This is not to disrespect any other establishment , maybe I haven't tried yours/your favorite spot yet. But what I can say, is that so far out of all the wings I've had in this area (Bloomfield , East orange, Newark, Irvington, Montclair etc etc) these stand out the most to me. So far I have had the BBQ & Thai chili wings and although a lot of people would refer to those sauces as "basic" I myself see nothing wrong with basic especially if it's elevated to a level that makes people think it's anything but. Needless to say I am in love with this place and I will continue to come back until I'm tired of it. In fact I will most likely be going today because these wings are that spectacular and I want to settle which flavor is the best . Not to mention the cheesesteak was really damn good. This could compete with some of the places in Philly and give them a run for their money.
