A very nice place, a reminder of what coffee houses used to be like before McStarbucks came along and turned "coffee shops" into a combination of the noise levels of Chuck E Cheese and the menu of Dairy Queen. This place has the requisite coffee shop attributes: quiet, excellent coffee drinks, comfortable seating and tables, and a tranquil atmosphere. They do pour-overs, the way coffee was meant to be drunk, and have a good selection of treats, a variety of baked goods. I had a cappuccino, and am eager to return and get a pour-over, in part to get excellent coffee, to caffeinate myself, and to support coffee houses that actually specialize in coffee. read more

I really wish I could give this place a 4 or 5 star review but sadly I can't. The place is adorable and they have their style all figured out. However, I wasn't super impressed with my cappuccino. I think I've made better cappuccino's at home. I also thought the artichoke dip was a little overpriced for the portion. It was also extremely salty to the point that I almost couldn't finish it. I would go back to just hang out with my family again but I've definitely had better coffee elsewhere. read more

Blend is my go-to coffee spot. Over the years of being a friendly neighbor Blend has picked up their coffee game. The cold brew is always available and on point. My kids LOVE their cake pops which are often seasonally themed. We love their Food Truck dinners and Golly Waffles for breakfast. The patio is great for the kids but also open mic nights and whatnot. Their egg sandwich (minus sausage) is awesome. They have great vegan/vegetarian options in their cold food bar. I'd love to see similar availability in their menu one day. They source local roasted beans and options. It's such a delight to have such a great business, let alone an amazing coffee shop, behind my house! I couldn't recommend this shop enough. read more

Absolutely love the décor and ambiance.. super creative in how they converted a 'garage' into a nice dine-in area with different types of seating. They also offer outdoor sitting. The coffee is a little on the high end, but they offer good taste and variety. The staff is very welcoming and polite and do take their time to explain their products. I have tried their iced mochas and iced latte, and I would surely go back to them. I am glad someone is breaking the chain of the chain restaurants in the Ashburn area! read more

The coffee bar is nice. The size of this place is large and accommodates large groups. The downside is that the noise seems to bounce off the walls and it's hard to hear your companions- even when we were sitting fairly close together. Maybe they can work on sound management. Great location, Great Coffee, Wonderful staff! Located near an auto shop and my kids orthodontist. It is easy to run in and grab an awesome cup of coffee. I don't have the nose or tongue to judge a coffee shop by its fine handcrafted Mozambiquean single-source beans. For me, it comes down to experience and tastiness. If those matter to you, too, I can't imagine you'll go wrong here. Staff are super friendly, work well, and complement a great atmosphere. The coffee I had is just plain solid. Nothing fancy - just an easy Americano - but made expertly from tasteful beans. The coffee cake was decadent and substantial. I firmly believe that decent people who are well trained make good products on the reg. You'll get it here. I've been searching for a local spot to chill, and this is perfect. A great place to study, read, work remotely, hang out with friends, and even DRINK WINE. Blend also has weekly events such as music, yoga and even cycling! The coffee is good and they have a nice selection of teas. The one thing that is weird to me is that the baristas will don't have consistency in delivering orders to tables. I have no problem getting up to grab my order--it's not a far walk at all ;). It's just that every time I've visited, some customers get their orders delivered to them and some just get their drinks called out (not referring to to-go orders). It makes you wonder, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. If you're looking for a fun yet quiet--but not stiff--environment, this is the spot! read more

Well, my last review I guess was removed. I was not happy with my latte when they first opened. It was a bit chaotic with kids running around. I am back ten months later and I must say the latte is delicious!!! Tried one of the mini lemon loafs and it was unbelievably Delish!!! Great experience, I had the grill cheese with turkey and spicy mayo with Tera chips and it was delicious, for dessert I had a cappuccino and a lemon pound cake and it was to die for. The decoration and ambience and incredibly relaxing and the girl working as a barista was very friendly and attentive and well as the owner. Decided to check this place out when i saw Panera overcrowded AF (nope) and had the best coffee time with my mom and daughter. The little one munched on sprinkles and icing while i interviewed my mom using the conversation cards on the table. I had a charming coffee break, one that i'll never have at Panera. Unless lunch is involved, this is my go to coffee spot, for sure. The house blend is self serve. It has a weaker body than i prefer, but drinks velvety-smooth. I am looking forward to tasting all they have to offer, in the very near future. The decor is very unique, with many charming notes through out. Please come check it out. This place is cute as hell! The honey cardamom latte was absolutely amazing with real honey and cardamom instead of the overly sweet syrup used almost everywhere. Most of the staff members are friendly and awesome!!! The ambiance of the café is also great for studying or, working as you sip your dose of caffeine. I am so glad to have found a cafe like this near home instead of all the way in DC. This was my first time visiting blend and the only bad thing I can say about it is that it's not in my backyard! What a lovely place, so quaint and cozy. The decor is adorable, and the girl behind the counter was so sweet and friendly. My beautiful latte had a perfect little leaf shape on top and tasted even better than it looked! I was meeting someone there and she was running a little bit late, I asked the barista if she could warm her coffee up when she got there and she insisted that she could make her a fresh one if it was cold, I was in shock, amazing customer service. I had a terrible experience at a Starbucks this week so this was a very welcome experience, I will recommend this place to everyone I know in the Broadlands area, again I wish it was closer to where I live because I would be a regular. read more

Don't go here expecting over roasted Starbucks beans and chemical laden combos. This shop is on a whole different level. Last week I stopped by wanting an iced decaf coffee. The women explained they didn't have iced decaf but she could make me an iced decaf pour-over. This was the most amazing iced coffee I've ever had. No comparison to Peet's or Starbucks' cold brew. Today was my first time coming into this coffee bar. I ordered the blended with an extra shot of espresso. The drink was absolutely amazing and the staff was very friendly. I'm usually a Starbucks girl but I will be switching my coffee place to Blend now . I love the fact that the espresso isn't overpowering and it doesn't take away from the flavor of the drink. My daughter and I have been enjoying our weekly lattes during covid. Tried the blueberry latte, the Frenchman, strawberry chocolate, campfire, lavender fields, milk way, raspberry empress and turtle. Needless to say our entertainment to survive quarantine has been coffee! Each one was delicious, I always have mine hot, my daughter gets the iced version. You can't go wrong! My wife and I drive 35 minutes from Fairfax a couple of times a month to enjoy Blend. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly, and I love the options they offer for pour overs. They make the most of their patio as well, offering adequate seating with umbrellas and are dog friendly as well. We mostly come in the morning, but have also visited in the evening where there has been pleasant live music and a transition to a wine-bar type vibe. Free refills of drip coffee is also a very nice touch, along with the handful of local baked goods, kombucha's, etc offered up front. I can't recommend Blend enough and only wish it were closer! read more
