Her tail was always, always wedged under her butt. It took months before her tail slowly began to make its way out to a slightly noticeable wag to indicate some level of trust and pleasure. I will say she was up-to-date on vet care and vaccines, but her teeth were an absolute mess with two abscessed teeth. Slowly I began to realize this scared pup did not play with toys, did not respond to treats, doorbells, door knocks, other people, or even other pets. At 5-1/2, she had no clue what to do when I put a leash on her. I'm convinced she never even knew she had a name. She was never potty trained (at 5-1/2!!!), and potty training her now is a total bust because she will not respond to treats. She runs away when I offer her a treat, as if she's about to be grabbed by a bribe (the only explanation I can come up with). I've spent 2-1/2 years desensitizing her to people, sounds, changes in environment...building trust. As a hound dog, she showed zero curiosity, so I made a point of always getting her to smell everything. It's progress, and she's way more curious, but there's a long way to go. I've had 6 other dachshunds, and this sweet girl has few of the characteristics which doxies are famous for. I can only surmise that she was never socialized, never knew affection and love, and had very limited human interaction except to be treated as a tool. This breeder did a huge disservice to this poor beautiful pup. She has come a long way with a lot of work, and at 8 years old she is now very well loved and cherished and will always be even with the challenges. Every so often those doxie traits begin to show up as trust continues to build. Advice: be cautious if buying a retired breeder dog from this breeder.

She has such gorgeous litters, and both of mine from her have been from different litters and different parents, but both are perfect and sweet. My Freya is 3 years old now and she's is the most calm, precious, loving ragdoll, so fluffy and little to no shedding because of how healthy her line is. She was given to me not a day sooner than they should be, because Inga cares and truly does what is needed and safest for her babies, and while it's hard to wait patiently for your sweet little ball of fluff, she video chats, sends updated photos, and keeps you informed on their progress and characteristic. So, I made sure to keep her updated and sent her photos. Our kitten displayed signs of a respiratory issue right away including sneezing, watery eyes, and some coughing. From our first day of having her we started calling vets to get her in. The breeder only gave us two days, which turned out to be impossible in the area we lived. We called tons of vets without being able to get an appointment in two days. Most of them were booked out into July. We lucked out and found one who had an available appointment in June so we took it, but it was a good 5 weeks after we brought her home. I let the breeder know this in advance and she said that was fine. Just yesterday we went to the vet. The vet told us that this kitten contracted herpes and that her "cold" symptoms were from a combination of that and sinus issues. She told us there was no cure. I let the breeder know that we had gone to the vet and I let her know what they said. She immediately attacked and started insinuating that I was a bad owner because I did not medicate the kitten on my own and because I did not "try hard enough" to get her seen and that I had "waited too long". She then started saying that she would take my kitten and that she wouldn't give me a refund. I never asked her to take my kitten, nor did I ask her for a refund. She was rude and dismissive and, when I called her on it, she said that she felt I had attacked her. I didn't even mention her in my first message. I was merely letting her know what we found out. She never apologized and, instead, told me that I should seek out remedies on YouTube and probably get a second opinion. This breeder bred a cat that she admitted was too small, lost a kitten in that litter and subsequently lost a mother and all of her kittens just after we got this kitten. She only gives two days to see a vet, which is not likely in our area according to the vets we called and she does not stand behind the kittens she is putting out there. When you do "keep her informed" as she requests, she will attack you and threaten to take your kitten to sell it to someone else. She was rude and, again, never apologized. Instead, she offered poor advice and kept insisting for homeopathic remedies and to use YouTube videos over a vet's care. I spent over an hour talking to her before writing this and even let her know that I only updated her at HER request. Still no apology for attacking me. She's only in this for money. Buyer beware.

Dr Kent Dean has always been Buster's favorite, now he has 2 favorites, as we do too! And there is another Dr K. Dean, she is prettier than the first Dr Dean, and will be a great vet too. We are so thankful we have them. They are great people too!

I would rather go to a small clinic than a busier place that sacrifices basic customer service skills and care, which matter far more than having a beautiful facility. Also, holding pet owners responsible for picking up their dog's poop should be a key priority, in addition to improving patient flow as people walk through the door. There were dog droppings on the sidewalks and plastic bags with waste placed by the door. This takes away from the facility's appearance and cleanliness for other four-legged animal companions and their owners.

She's so obsessed with not catching covid that she let her practice slide. I took one of my senior cats to her in 2019 and she barely examined him and just said, he's a very old cat. He was 14 at the time. He wasn't eating... I took him home and cared for him myself. He's doing well at almost 16 yrs of age. In December 2019 my lab developed a growth on his shoulder. We waited an hour in the van to be seen. They took him in and he was back out in five minutes. I was shocked. What did they do? Did they X-ray?! The tech couldn't tell me but surgery was scheduled. He had the surgery a couple weeks later and then developed breathing problems. Ronny thought it was inflammation from the surgery. She prescribed theophylline and Cipro. He had a massive seizure with his first dose. She prescribed drugs that were contraindicated and known to cause seizures. I brought her to him that evening and she was absolutely horrible. Cruel, callous and selfish. All she wanted to do was go home. He spent over a week in the emergency hospital (covered by her malpractice insurance... ) - seizures wouldn't stop unless he was highly sedated. The ER vets did a chest X-ray after a week. He had a growth (cancer) throughout his chest. She hadn't X-rayed him to see how widespread his cancer was in December. I had to say goodbye to my 9 year old companion. My heart breaks every day missing my Shiloh. Later I found out several people in the past few years had also lost their beloved animals due to this vet's callous indifference and negligence. Hopefully she retires soon.

I'm mad as hell, this clinic used to care about animals and now they don't give a flip if an animal dies or not. I was at peace because of Carli, Johnny, Karen, and Dr. Parker. They let me be with her during her transition. They then sent me a card expressing their condolence. I have never had a vet do that. I would highly recommend Bladen Animal Hospital. They are like family.
