I can't say enough good things about the Blind King and the staff! I recently moved into a new place and Blind King helped me to make it beautiful, private and warm! The elegant honeycomb blinds were custom made for every exterior window. The bedroom blinds have a darkening affect that's good for napping in the daytime and the smaller ones open from the top as well as from the bottom. The beautiful sheer drapes add a touch of privacy to the interior doors and glass pannel by the front door (see pictures). Blind Kings people are courteous and informative; they measure the spaces and hang the blinds when they arrive. Everything is done with a personal touch and the timing was well known. Poor customer service. I purchased a vertical blind set from Blind King 2 years prior. Being new to Providence, I went to their showroom because it was near my residence. Upon entering the store I was put-off by an unwelcome vibe (I thought, this being New England; normal behavior?? -whatever..) but was ultimately satisfied by the purchase and install. By no means inexpensive, but professionally done. Bravo Blind King. 2-years in, upon an overzealous pull of the cord, I broke one of the carriers on the vane system. No problem, my fault. Hoping to avoid a house-call, I removed the track from the wall and called Blind King to ask if I could bring the track in for repairs. To make a long story short, Blind King was less than helpful and short on the phone, telling me there were no parts available for a repair (having not seen the item to make an informed opinion) and informed me my only option was to purchase a new system. I'd paid @$1000 for this setup! I disassembled the track, examined the broken carrier, took a picture of it and contacted Hunter Douglas for the part. The sales rep suggested I take the rail to the dealer, who would ship for repair. Hunter Douglas: "We recommended to have the product shipped to a manufacturing site. Your original dealer would be able to assist you with this procedure. Dealer service charges will apply." I informed them Blind King wasn't helpful, telling me that I needed to buy another system. I only needed an individual carrier at this point and would attempt the repair myself. Hunter Douglas promptly sent the part free of charge. It's a small plastic thingamabob of minimal cost, maybe $1 in materials and labor to make (I'm an engineer specializing in manufacturing and production processes). Bravo Hunter Douglas!! I repaired the rail and saved some cash in the process. Just wanted to share my experience -hope this helps. read more

This company is like a finely tuned machine! Lexine came to our house first, and she was such a big help with picking out what would work best for each room. She is a true asset to this company. Joe and Ron (question if names are correct!) were the installers. When they brought all of the blinds into the house (we did 18 windows), my first thought was that is was going to take all day. They have their own system set up on how and where to install first. They were very neat and personable. They were done within three hours time! I do like to support local businesses as opposed to the big box stores. There is a reason why Blind King has been in business for over 65 years. They take pride in what they sell and stand behind their products. I highly recommend Blind King to anyone who is in the market for new window treatments! read more

We have a cathedral ceiling with very high windows that we can't even touch let alone try to put curtains up to shade from the strong sunlight that comes in every day. Blind King was great at helping us with solar shades that provided us the protection from the strong sunlight by remote control and give us the ability to still see the beautiful view. I tried to get home depot to call me back for two months. Didntnwork. These people called me back the same day (fri) came to measure on a Saturday and I had blinds by Monday installed and ready to go. I have a short term lease so I wasn't looking for anything fancy. Just something to make my house totally dark. Blind king employees presented me with all my options and didn't pressure me to get anything more expensive than I needed.
