Went to The Blind Tiger yesterday it was a birthday celebration the atmosphere was excellent you have to love this building it's so spacious and there's so many places to sit with great atmosphere bathrooms are excellent the staff was superb I like the way that the waiter came to us and explained it that several things that they were out of due to the fact that they were so busy on St Patrick's Day on weekend the waiter was also very patient. The food was excellent I thought you had a great flavor to it especially the chicken wings they were delicious the jalapeno poppers were delicious . All together all the food was served with a great presentation. Nine years ago, I gave this place 5 stars. Today, they get two. Ordered the Cajun Chicken pasta. The pasta itself was good and so was the bread that comes with it. The chicken however was like rubber. I ate half a small piece and put the rest to the side. My husband had the Pulled Pork platter which is normally good. The meat was really dry. I ate all the pasta and told our server about the chicken being like rubber and she stated that she's mentioned that exact thing to the cooks but that maybe if a customer complains they would possibly listen. What made me a little annoyed though was that I ate none of the chicken yet they didn't at least bump off a few bucks off my meal. Brewery with good food. Server was prompt, friendly with good recommendations (Didn't catch his name but scar on forehead and from New York). Chicken Sandwich-fried. Nice crunchy batter with very tender, perfectly cooked chicken. Good fries. Came out piping hot.. when food comes from the kitchen piping hot like this, it lets me know the chef and the staff care about their food and are true professionals. Husband had bbq brisket. He said it was good. Southern style on two pieces of white bread... I also had their "angry man stout". Not sure what any man has to be angry about with the strong brown stout...maybe that the glass isnt bigger? It was really good, great back end and finish. Very unethical billing practices. They sneakily took it on themselves to add a 20 tip to the bill without our consent. Then to add insult to injury, the credit card bill listed the price of the meal with the tip already included, and had an additional line for another tip, trying to trick you into tipping again. I talked to the manager and he tried to blame the double tipping practice on the credit card company, which is balony, no other place does this. If we fell for their tricks we would have ended up tipping over 40%. The service was terrible, and they were out of salads, vegetables, several beef entrys, and other things. The food was very expensive and mediocre. Will never go back. read more

Visiting my kids in the area--they took me here for dinner. Dining with a toddler and we were seated about as far back and up high as you can in the expansive property. Cadence, our server, was really great! Friendly and efficient, in spite of our being tucked far away. I was warned the barbecue isn't the best representation of what I'd expect from KC style. They opted for chicken fried steak & chicken. I was feeling like the fried shrimp. My eyes wanted the prime rib, but I knew I couldn't have handled it! I tasted the baked beans side and was happy I did. My coleslaw was tasty. Maybe a bit too much batter on the shrimp, but I was getting my fried food fix. My son, his friend and I are on our way out west for an adventure and stopped into Topeka for the night. I found the Blind tiger brewery on my way to camp and thought the menu looked promising. This was a great experience. I saw they brew their own root beer, and traveling with two teenage boys we all decided to try it. Best root beer I've ever had. We all ordered brisket, and I got mine with some burnt ends as well. It was all really good. Our server was excellent, shout out to Ayonana, I hope I spelled that right. She was very prompt, friendly, and a very pleasant person to interact with. The dining room was very lively with laughter and groups enjoying each other's company, and the welcoming atmosphere was great. Stopped on a Friday night, very busy, after a long drive! There was a wait to sit in the dining room however, the lounge and bar area were first come first serve. It was full! We managed to find a small table near the patio doors. Just way too hot to sit outside! We sat for a little bit waiting for our waitress. It seemed that she had a very large section to take care of. After reviewing the menu, my wife ordered a sour and I one of their IPAs. My wife ordered the children's grilled cheese with a tossed salad while I ordered their house salad, entrée size, with smoked brisket. Everything came out relatively quickly. The salad was delicious as was the brisket; however, wish there would've been more sauce on the brisket. The beer was so good. We took home a small, quart, bottle of their top gun IPA. read more

I decided to grab a late lunch on a Monday, upon arriving I found the parking lot only had two cars in it and had to make sure that they were opened. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer. One of the things I like about this place is that they showcase their beers. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries. I waited less than 5 min for my food to arrive. Sandwich had a large portion of pulled pork and a good amount of fries. The pulled pork was juicy and had good flavor. The beer that they brew is also really good and they have a large verity of different options. read more

It was a serious meh. Ok, so the fried mushrooms and their dip are great. This time, we had the fish and chips and I had the spicy pasta. The pasta came out COLD. And you could tell it was cold by looking at it. Plus, I saw the server touch it to test and she STILL gave it to me like that wasn't a problem. I think they just microwaved my food to get it warm as it was out within minutes. I have been there before, and they got our steaks wrong twice, so we gave up. That was 10 years ago. It was July 4th when we were driving through Topeka on our road trip. I wanted to eat Kansas BBQ, but all the BBQ places were closed (understandably). Then I found Blind Tiger Brewery and called them to make sure they were open. When we got there the place was packed! They have a bar section, dining in section, outdoor dining, and a section where they have the brewery. By around 5pm a lot of their BBQs were gone! However, they did have some burnt ends, and let me tell you they were so flavourful, moist, and tender! I am sure there are BBQ specialty restaurants, but this place was delicious! Our server was busy, but he was very attentive, helpful, and very friendly. I don't know how long this place has been around, but you can show wear and tears esp with the carpets and general interior. Some places smelled musty. If it wasn't for that I would definitely give this place 5 stars! read more

This has been a staple every time I make it to Topeka. They have a wide variety of beer and space for ALL sizes of parties. My go-to is usually the Reuben, but this time, I tried the Pulled Pork sandwich and it was delicious as well. The fact that they have been in business since 1995 (first craft brewery in Topeka) and have been going ever since, speaks for itself. Also, more points for my kids loving it too. I don't think we will ever be returning to the restaurant. Our waitress was terribly slow and never checked on us. All dirty plates were left in front of us so I carried them over to another table that had been left dirty the entire time we were there. Because there was 8 of us they put on 20% gratuity when your website says 18% and charged tax on a processing fee. Also, your menu says side salads are 3.99 with an entree but we were charge 6.99! When we asked the manager she says...oh, that means if the entree comes with a side...then that's what the menu should say!!! Shoutout to our local community heroes! I was able to get professional, competent, and personable support from manager Kevin when ordering my Mom her Mother's Day dinner. I am grateful because I am in Jacksonville, FL and was able to order delivery to my Mom via ChowNow which is the service that the venue uses for their customers. We have enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere at this venue for years whenever we are in town. I wanted this quality of food to be delivered to my Mom since I am not able to visit this weekend. I had noticed that the venues yummy baked potatoes were not available on the delivery menu, so I was able to discuss this with Kevin. He had looked into it and had the online menu updated. I'm laughing having just read another reviewer here praise their BBQ as somehow being a substitute for Kansas City BBQ. I have to believe this poor soul has never experienced ANY good BBQ ANYWHERE. Consistent with their entire business model, the Blind Tiger specializes in maximizing profit on products ("craft" brew, cheap smoked meats, nacho platters and low-end booze) that they could/should offer at more affordable prices. The menu is glorified bar food and the BBQ is on the poor end of what is regionally available. Their in-house craft beers and ales (the only ones they sell) have risen in price to $6 or $7 a pint on average for something that can hardly cost them $1 to produce. So if it is more of a bar/tavern they should have Happy Hour specials right? WRONG! Not only that, but "well" drinks and shots are up to $7 each. For reference the Smirnoff vodka they sell at that price point has a RETAIL price of less than 80 cents for a 2 oz shot. Much better options all over Topeka. Pick just about anyplace! read more

I know I have reviewed BT many times but I think it's update-worthy. We have been going here more often, as the service & food is greatly improved since pandemic times. The best BBQ around, hands down. Burnt ends and brisket are go-to, but the babyback ribs are on special mid-week, and they fall off the bone. Sauces are awesome, classic KC (masterpiece) style Steak fries are always crispy & dip well in ranch or ketchup, or cheesy & bacon. The wings are great, very smoky. Sauces are good spicy level. The chicken strips are always excellent (and never pre-made). Beer selection is excellent, and other beverages. I love the raspberry wheat, apricot & pina colada. My daughter doesn't like beer, but she enjoys their sours. Husband loves the raw wheat & stouts. We like the bar seating, it's not too loud or crowded. Wow! Loved the atmosphere of this brewery! Alicia (sp) was our server and did an excellent job! I ordered the Tiger Paws...amazing! I, also, ordered the fish. The dish was just ok...nothing spectacular. The roasted veggies; however, were phenomenal...crisp but tender! I could have done without the grated cheese. I also had the Maibock beer and it was light and refreshing! And the carrot cake was second to Kona Grill's. Just needed a tad more spice notes. This place is truly one-of-a-kind! The interior was spacious and creatively designed, with multiple levels and a fun, energetic vibe--and yes, tigers everywhere, which added to the charm. I've had my fair share of BBQ over the years, but this was honestly some of the best I've ever tasted. The meat was incredibly tender, and their house BBQ sauce was the perfect complement--rich, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick. I'm usually not a fan of burnt ends, but theirs completely changed my mind--they were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. They also offer a full beer menu with flights, which was a great way to sample a variety. If you order the Blind Tiger beer, a portion of the proceeds goes toward helping tigers at the local zoo, which you can actually see on a live stream right from the bar. How cool is that? My daughter ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, and I cannot stress enough how incredible it was--creamy, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely unforgettable. Our server, Misty, deserves a special shout-out. She was attentive, friendly, and gave spot-on recommendations. Her service took an already amazing experience to the next level. To top it all off, their root beer is made in-house--and yes, it was every bit as tasty as you'd expect. I think this is a cool spot. I was passing thru and wanted a Topeka specific vibe/ tradition place and wasn't disappointed. The beer I had was fantastic. Exactly as the wait staff presented it. Wish I had gotten a growler but I was flying home in a few days so it wasn't plausible. The food was great. I had the steakhouse burger which is a mix of the trimmings on their steaks. Im not a burger guy. But I read the description and had to try it. It was really awesome. Grilled sour dough bread. The pickle with it was great. So great. Wish I had one right now. Really disappointed with Blind Tiger. Went recently with my parents and friends visiting from out of state. This has always been our go-to spot to impress guests. Two of us ordered soup, and were informed 10 minutes later that the soup was sold out. Our friend splurged and ordered the London Broil, and it was like mushed hamburger meat shaped like a steak. Not edible. Dad's fish & chips came, but no ketchup or tartar sauce. A server finally brought a beer 10 minutes later and we asked for the condiments, which came 5 minutes later, so Dad sat there for 15 minutes unable to really enjoy his fish & chips. Service was polite but spotty. Chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes were good as always. At the end of the meal, our guest wanted another beer, but no server came, so he went to the bar to get one. Another person in our group then went to get a beer too, but a woman at the bar was reluctant to serve her one, because we wanted to take it back to the table. She said since we already paid our bill, the server wouldn't get a tip if we ordered at the bar. She wanted our whole table (people in their 70's and 80's) to relocate up to the bar while these people finished their beers there. Our friends bellied up to the bar anyway, and the other bartender was quite short (not in feet!) and snippy. We still don't understand why. When my dad only left a 10% tip at the table, I was at first horrified, but then thought it was appropriate. Poor service, all around. We won't be going back anytime soon. read more

The overall vibe of Blind Tiger is very cool. In house brews with scratch made meals. The service was exceptional (4 stars). They kept the beers flowing and the waters full. Chips and Queso to start....well it's more of a Cheese dip and not as creamy as Queso...but still pretty good. Being from Texas I know good Q when I have it...I should have stuck with one of the other menu items that they are known for, but this truly fell short. The brisket was super tuff, dry and you need a knife to cut it. Burnt ends were small and didn't have much fat content (They should melt in your mouth)...pulled pork was solid, a bit dry but good. The mac was sticky instead of creamy. Flavor wise the Q was good....cook wise...not so good. Both sauces were delish....Overall visit was good...visiting with family is always a good time. It wouldn't stop me from visiting again as they have a vast menu of other items I would like to try...Ohh...the Beer...Excellent! read more
