I placed an order on the First Watch App, i was craving their Avocado Toast-which is delicious. I chose to have my eggs basted and added on bacon. I've usually order the Morning Meditation but want to try the Lavender Haze-it did not disappoint!!! I like to order my pup a little something when I get take out, I ordered him a scrambled egg which he devoured. The restaurant didn't look too busy but there was still a good crowd. I wish they did have a couple to-go Parking Spots so that you could park and run in to pick up order. I grabbed my bag/drink that was up front by the hostess stand. So excited to get in and experience what is already, easily Topeka's best dining spot of any kind. As a long time fan of their other locations in Lawrence and Westport I was stoked to see the "Coming Soon" banner earlier this year. My first of what will be MANY visits here today did not disappoint. Fresh food, quality ingredients, healthy alternatives, excellently prepared and served by friendly and efficient staff. What more can you ask for? My only suggestion and it is a common one with me is I would LOVE to see them add traditional hash browns to their menu in addition to their excellent seasoned potatoes. read more

First time in and it was an amazing experience. Had breakfast and it was interesting their twist on the food. I had the works omelette with jalapeños and it was nice to see fresh cut jalapeños vs the typical nacho sliced ones. To me the best thing was the staff. A server spilled a drink and it looked like a swarm of bees. They all worked to get it cleaned up. The team work was amazing. Went there on a cold Sunday morning. It was busy as we expected it to be. I think our wait was around 20 minutes. It was loud and a little dirty. But again you have to expect that at a place that has been busy all morning when you get there around 11 am. We had coffee and it was decent. Ordered two different items for brunch. The only real complaint was the Texas toast was just regular bread. We will be back when they have had some time to work out the kinks. read more

I do enjoy this place and I think their menu is pretty great. Opted for the Elevated Egg Sandwich which was really tasty. It is a little messy but hey, it does come with an over easy egg so it's expected. The potatoes were really good and nicely seasoned. My friend tried the Farmhouse Hash bowl which looked really yummy and she enjoyed it. They have some great juice bar options and I recommend the Blazing Dragon if you are a dragon fruit lover. read more

I love First Watch & was super excited to get one in town. The portions are smaller, making it seem pricey but it's average. The food is yummy, fresh & service is good. I love the unusual choices they have to offer- not just standard stuff. The grilled turkey is salty & melty, the hollandaise is delicious here. This a nice new eatery for Topeka. Prices are steep though. I took my 9 and 13 year old and breakfast for us 3 was nearly $60. The service was good, the atmosphere trendy and stylish, but I just can't stomach those prices on even a semi regular basis. I hope they make it here as it's nice to have varied breakfast options and the menu seems to have healthier options than most places. It's busy! It's freshly prepared. Know that and plan accordingly. Our party of five checked in online and had an hour wait time. When we showed up, we waited less than 5 min. We ordered an omelette, biscuits and gravy, ham and gueyere sandwich, honey pecan chicken salad and a Belgium waffle. Everything was delicious! My kids are sooo picky. It gets frustrating going out with them sometimes bc they don't like anything but they all cleaned their plates and loved their food. My salad was amazing. read more

The food was good as always, and we enjoyed both our meals. We did have to wait a little while to get seated, but it was busy. We got seated outside which was pretty comfortable. Once we got seated we were not given water for a good 15 minutes, and we kind of felt like we got forgotten. Plus I ordered two over easy eggs and got one done correctly and one scrambled egg underneath it. This place would never recommend. My first time here the service was horrible the wait time over 20 minutes just to see two people. Very loud, very noisy hard to hear the other parties speaking. I asked for pecan pancake the waitress said I don't think we have pecans that aren't designated for the carrot cake pancakes everything that I asked for she found a reason of why they cannot do. Eventually, I did receive the one pecan pancake, but it should have never been such a bother as the waitress showed it to be. The bacon was delivered cold when they brought it back the second time it was so greasy and so undercooked. This place is a disaster. I would never recommend this place ever to anybody and I will never go back. read more

I've been to a few first watch restaurants in different states, the Topeka one feels less homey and spread out than other locations. I think the table spacing is adequate but it's not quite as private as other places, a little like a mess hall. The menu here seems to be a cut down version of other locations I've been too. The food quality was good. If you've been to others you'll may be a little disappointed but if you've lived in your basement your whole life it might be ok. read more

Traveling through and was excited to see another First Watch. Loved going to the one in Columbus, Ohio. This is packed like sardines in a can and dirty tables, no staff in sight except for in the kitchen. Trying to our name in for service after 15 minutes ( ridiculous). There was so many people lined up for getting their names on a list and then a worker finally makes thei presence known. Everyone is told that you have to go online or call to make a reservation to eat here. Seriously?! You do not have to do that back in Ohio. Will not be back to this one. read more

Elevated Egg Sandwich (substituted gruyere with jack). - this was exceptional. Soft yummy brioche bun with egg and avocado. The tangy arugula vinaigrette cut some of the richness of the egg/ avocado/cheese perfectly. Nice lightly crisped bacon - A+ Country style Potatoes (side) - needs some work. Uncooked centers. C+ Belgian waffle - very nice! Slight crisp with soft center. Not too dry, just right! A Standard coffee brew was well above average compared to other breakfast spots. Taking into account this is the first month of opening and everyone wants to eat here, it was busy, full, loud, line to pay on the way out, line waiting for a table, I gave them a 4 out of 5. The food was very fresh and delicious. My group of 6 each had a different dish. All were excellent. My table was wobbly but the seating was comfortable. The atmosphere was cheerful but loud. My family and I ate at the First Watch in Topeka, KS on Saturday, 1/25/25. We checked in about 10:00am but did not get seated until after 11:00am. You can check in early on their mobile app (which I would highly recommend) on the weekends. This First Watch location has only been open a few months and they are working hard to get their feet underneath them. Topekans love new restaurants and everybody seems to show up at the same time. :-) The food is high quality and will not disappoint. I eat at First Watch restaurants in other areas in the country (AZ & CO) and I am never disappointed. They use high quality ingredients and the food is very good. You definitely get what you pay for. Our server on this visit was Lakyn. She was professional and prompt. Her attitude was good in spite of the fact that they were pretty slammed. We look forward to our next visit. read more

With as much pretentious effort that goes in to this restaurant you would think training and service would be top notch, NO. Service is always subpar (which i guess is par for the times). Didn't get the chance to actually try the Million Dollar Bacon that we ordered...asked about it 3x and finally after we were done eating the waitress informed us we were 6th in line to get. This was ordered with the drinks! No manager came over and we had to ask for it to be removed from our bill. This place is fairly new to the area. And I wasn't impressed. The design makes it very loud for a breakfast place, having to shout across the table isn't a good start to the day. The food was "ok". I found the donuts bland and more like hush puppies than anything. The first time I didn't finish donuts placed in front of me. The breakfast potatoes were pretty undercooked and I just removed them from my plate. There a lot of hype around this place but you'll get more bang for your buck (and taste buds) from IHOP or Perkins read more
