I used BSS a couple of years ago when the motor on my very large electric/remote powered shade was broken. Even though I purchased that shade from another (online) vendor, they were happy to provide me with the service I needed. Their service was excellent! I recently had an issue where I thought the motor was not working properly even after I change the batteries and did all of the troubleshooting requirements on my own. When I called BSS, Ann in Customer service helped me go through the troubleshooting checklist before telling me to bring the shade back so that they could fix whatever the problem may be. The only thing I did not do in my initial troubleshooting was use lithium batteries in the wand. I always used non-lithium batteries, which worked fine. So in the last effort, I purchase some lithium batteries and sure enough that did the job! I truly appreciated the time and patience that Ann took with me to help me fix this problem on my own. Firstly, I can not speak to the quality of the work, only to the rudeness myself and my family experienced when we visited the showroom. I initially called them as I prefer to support a smaller family owned business. I spoke to Fran who told me that I should come into the showroom with approx measurements of the shades I wanted. She said to come in 'anytime' and gave me their hours of operation. We travelled 25 minutes from home and arrived at 3:30pm. When we entered a lady named Ann looked at us with an evil eye and asked what we wanted. She then said she had just started a consultation and would not be able to help us. I asked politely how long would she be busy for as we could return. She said the consultation would be an hour. I said 'No problem we can return at 4:30' to which she answered that it was her last consultation of the day and was going home so we should 'make an appointment' So much for 'come by anytime' And the store was supposed to be open until 5 not 4:30 when Ann rudely stated she was leaving. I had already received a quote from another company for 10k and was hoping to save some money and support locals. However this was a wasted trip and based on this very rude experience we are taking our business elsewhere. read more

Very friendly staff and timely measurements. We have a big bay window and needed a custom shade for it. They were quick to respond to me and get all the information needed to come out and do the measurements. The shade took about 3 weeks to come in but they were able to get a worker out to install it the day after it came in. Quick and easy installation. Very happy with how my window looks and the price of the shade. Terrible! They charged us 75 dollars to get an estimate for window treatments and did not have the decency to provide the measurements utilized for the estimate. They do not tell you when you call them that they do not provide the measurements that your paying them for. Why would I pay someone 75.00 to obtain an estimate for work that I will be paying for. They told me that the 75.00 comes off the installation on the job only if you go with them for the work. Awful way to treat people to charge 75.00 for 1 hr of work and not provide the details included within the estimate. You made your money by charging me 75.00 for one hour to measure and provide me with a quote for 8k without any further information. The least you can do is buy me dinner before you screw me. read more

They were very easy to do business with. After i made my selection in their showroom, Bob came out to my house and measured my entire house for window blinds and went through great detail in explaining why they stopped selling cordless shades five years ago and gave me cordless shades at no extra cost. i chose this company from a home guide that is periodically mailed to homes in my area. It was a poor decision. One of the owners came out to measure. After the installation and several calls to Hunter Douglas for some help we learned that we should have had a 1 long valance over 3 blinds on 1 large window not 3 valances which looked choppy. When they finally did order a single valance they wanted to charge us another $150.00 for their mistake and take back the 3 individual valances. Also, we were never told that the controls could be on 1 side not 1 on each side of the blinds which is very inconvenient. We had to have the installer out several times to level the blinds and repair a cord that pulled out of the bottom rail of 1 of the blinds.. We have that same blind with the same problem and they want a credit card charge of $75 to schedule the repair. The blinds come with a 7 year guarantee but this store chooses to charge for the installer to come out. My blinds are a year and half old but store claims they only guarantee their work for 3 months.?? I paid close to $2000 for these 5 blinds. Very poor customer service. I even spoke to the owner who measured and made the 2 mistakes but he still refuses to send a repair person out unless I give them a credit card number. I was advised by the manufacturer to go to a dealer who has a larger showroom, more selections and better customer service.. read more

And you're not looking hard enough in your records, and since you reinstalled my shade I spoke to you in person about this problem.
