Refers to the Whitby location which serves the Oshawa Area Shame the service, installation and customer service is so brutally bad because the product quality is actually very good. Installer came to measure and said he would install all three blinds for $90. While he is a contract work, not an employee he is still engaged by Blinds To Go and their responsibility. The blinds were excellent but when he came to install my daughter was home and in spite of the written contract he installed two sets and tried to shake her down for more cash to do the third set. She refused insisting that he uphold the written agreement but he just left failing to complete the job. I called customer service and left a voicemail. They responded almost immediately from Montreal and said because of the Xmas season they would investigate after New Years. Certainly reasonable enough; however, they did not specify a date and tomorrow is February so while technically after Jan 1 this is not the response I expected. This was my first time with Blinds To Go. In past I had used other companies and never had an issue. My wife told there was a sale and took me to Whitby and Thickson location. These guys are extremely understaffed. One needs to wait a long time to buy for quite a high price. When I saw pricing, I was surprised, even though that was after discount. We still ordered as my wife had made up her mind. We were promised 5 days but the order was ready in 12 days instead. It doesn't end there. An incorrect installation guide was included. It had roller blinds installation but those without valance. We drilled holes and affixed brackets but the blinds wouldn't fit. Wasted three hours on this and gave up. Went to the store again next morning. Had to wait for 20 mins again, due to understaffed situation (only 2 ppl in the huge store). I showed the installation guide and brackets to the person, saying we got wrong brackets. She believed, those were correct but then figured out we had been given wrong instructions manual. That would have confused anyone. The bracket had to be fit at a different angle and holes were at a different distance. It became a problem for us and so we had to get into more trouble buying material from Home Depot to close the holes (or else we didn't have space to drill). No one picks up the phone or replies to emails after you have paid in full. Eventually they were installed but the overall experience was poor. read more

I Purchased 4 Mini Blinds for my Bay Window, once they were Installed I realized that they didn't have a Valance, and I thought the installer forgot but could not find anything in the box called the store and was told that the blinds I purchased did not come with a valance, well I don't know about anybody else but to me my blinds look unfinished, I don't like looking at the pull cord mechanism and the wand hook, the valance would hide that, when I called the store all I got from them was I'm sorry, no solution to the problem I will never recommend this company ever, I was never told that these blinds did not come with a Valance, because if I was told I would never have purchased them!!! I don't want a discount just someone to fix this!!! At this point I just want to rip them down and open their front door and tell them to keep them!!! Never again this was my 1st and last time purchasing from this store!! read more
