This location is one of my three favorite gym locations to get my workout on. People are respectful to one another and do not hog the gym equipment which I dislike. I had hoped the negative reviews were isolated incidents and I would have an amazing experience. I was wrong. The management is not responsive to calls or even in person visits. I called to confirm that I only purchased a one time package for personal training. The employee that answered the phone , confirmed that I did not purchase a recurring package. The very next day the gym tried to charge for another month's worth of training sessions. I immediately called back thinking there was a mistake. I was told a manager would call me back, they didn't. This went on for days. I finally went in to the gym and asked to speak to a manager. I was told they weren't there and they would call me back within an hour. They did NOT call me back but guess what they DID do? They tried to charge my credit card again. The lack of communication and professionalism is frustrating, especially since I was proactive in my attempts to to communicate with them. I can't speak for every location but I definitely would not recommend the Valley Stream location. read more

Standard gym, nothing incredibly special. I appreciate the ability to scan in from my phone, but that's a standard gym practice now. The workouts on the app are great for home. There are a plethora of ellipticals, but not enough treadmills. There should be more stairmasters & a wipe dispenser/garbage can by the treadmills in the back. As others have said it does need to have more mat space, stretching and warming up on the mats is a bit difficult for sure, especially when asked to move by trainers for other patrons. The weight area in the back is absolutely male dominated, somewhat intimidating for people who may be new. The locker rooms aren't anything to marvel at, just lockers and the restroom with 4-5 stalls. The only other issue i have is the water from their fountain. It definitely tastes off, hence why I prefer to use my 64 oz. Bottle instead of refilling. I go because of location and price. But otherwise, just a standard place to pick things up and put them down. read more

The WORST gym ever! I cancelled my membership on September 25th 2018, yet I'm still being inundated with harassing emails threatening collections! I called this location and left a message for the GM when I received the first past due email back in November 2018, I have YET to receive a call back! I WENT INTO this location and cancelled my membership, I received a cancellation email stating I have paid whatever buy out was required of me at that time. I'm not paying Blink another cent! Don't waste your money with this shitty gym because they'll continue to harass you after you've fulfilled your contractual obligations as per their own emails! read more

Blink does it again...Blink creates a demand where there is a plethora of supplies out in strong island. Strong island is a place where every shopping mall has a mix martial arts/boot camp/cross fit start up and slumping monthly gym memberships just to attract or keep existing members. I forecast, Blink will have the valley community on lock with their amenities. The layout is a little awkward but just takes time to adjust compared to other Blink's. There are two power weight racks, one visible and one tucked away in the corner near the window. The towel hanger is stomach length opposed to shoulder length like the others. In my opinion, the clientele seam a little more civilized than Baldwin. The icing on the cake is that this location has valet parking...WoW!!! Talk about the upscale South Hampton's/ high end Italian restaurant meets gym members on a budget. I'm just curious how the crew will handle their job when the place is packed. read more

This gym is garbage The staff is garbage The hours are garbage If you're looking for the kind of gym that sells $10 hot towel and has no water fountains. Blink is for you! After having a lukewarm tea experience with this gym for over a year, I went in to cancel because of course you can only cancel in person. Apparently to cancel I have to pay a prorated fee, even after waiting out the 6 month buyout fee, which was (of course) more than my monthly membership. I got upset and asked if there was a way out of it because I didn't like my experience there and my PT was a flake. The "manager" Vanessa couldn't care less if I hated my experience and that I still had to pay or I couldn't cancel. "Yes, I have to pay to stop going to a gym that I don't want to go to, or I'm forced to keep paying... and not go?" I asked if I could get in contact with a district or regional person but Vanessa sent me to the website because the of course as the Manager she doesn't know who she report to. So yeah, garbage. Anyway I'll found my way out of this membership somehow, but thank you so much Blink for reminding me that you get what you pay for... and yet somehow have to keep paying for it :/ read more

This is a large spacious gym with friendly staff. I love the clean bathroom but THE WEIGHTS ARE NEVER put back Either 1.) it gets annoying putting away 45kg plates all day 2.) can never find the weights cause they are scattered around the place. I do appreciate the complimentary valet parking though. read more

Your manager says that there was miscommunication between me and the employees. So why blame me and charge me for something that I thought wasn't suppose to happen? Not a bad gym, the price is the real selling point. Blink fitness looks huge from the outside, but its just an optical illusion. Two large areas are used by cardio equipment. Maybe some days you want a view of McDonald's while you work out? There is actually very little room for free weights and benches. I couldn't imagine coming here at peak times, trying to get some space to lift weights. A problem that a lot of gyms have? Only 1 leg press( free weight not the machine) This is a problem that the expensive 24hr fitness sport has as well, so I can't hold it against blink for doing the same thing. Only one bench press though? C'mon, give me another! No hack squat machine? Retro has it...most gyms have it (and again, 24hr fitness doesn't have that, or an assisted pullup/dip while we are at it...so I guess I can't be too mad about that either. The purell wipes seem a little weird for a gym (in my opinion) are they actually cleaning anything with a quick wipe? Are they doing anything besides drying out my hands? Would like to see a stretching cage at the gym, but I can live without it. So blink fitness will be my gym for a while, seeing how the other gyms in the area are 19.99 a month and 49.99 a month Edit: signed up for personal training with Cedric, great guy...except that he's kicking my ass. Its more expensive than most gyms, but I have no doubt ill be ready for my Spartan race. read more

Overall this blink isnt bad but there are better blink locations. No matter the time of the day the gym STINKS! And the trainers always take up sooo much space where it become impossible for you to do your own workout. Even when you are there first they are always asking for you to move out the way as though they reserved the space before you. read more

Valley stream blink is a great place for fitness ; I been a lot of gyms definitely one of the most cleanest ones out there , all members are courteous and wipe machines down after use, unlike other gyms; all members are polite and help gives excellent advice , I've made friends in and even hanging out of the gym with some members ; not the biggest of gyms but Britney the GM is wonderful & professional, even allowing us our own personal place for social distancing. Kyle is Awesome and always on the move making sure we good and the place is fully sanitized hope he gets that well deserved promotion. It is a good basic neighborhood gym. I hv 2 complaints. There is a very small mat area. Because of this, there should not be 3 trainers using it at the same time as it happened today. Get a bigger area or hv some consideration for other members. Second after coming home from a long vacation, my boyfriend (who works out there regularly) and I were informed that one of the best employees was let go. His name is Akiem (spelling ?) He was very helpful and courteous to all members. We heard from another member who witnessed one b***h was hvng a bad day or a bad life and the result was this young man losing his job. I gave blink in Valleystream New York 0/10 I joined expecting to get February for free with one dollar deposit . I was charged for the month of February. I spoke to Lexi the supervisor and she told me she made a mistake the package that I picked does not include one month for free. Was it a mistake or was it lies to sign me up? I tried to cancel and they refuse to give me the cancellation form they said it's only done on the computer. So I hurried and canceled my debit card so they won't take any money out of my account. Customer satisfaction is a zero if you go to the facility and if you call the one 800 number. She Showed me the cancellation form and refused to give it to me. read more

Whoever has given this place 3 stars is petty! I arrived at 9:04am on a Thursday and this place was spotless. Temperature checks are conducted at check-in and most machines e.g the treadmill had every other treadmill in usage to abide by the social distancing regs. There were a decent amount of members present but not too crowded. Surprisingly, it's way bigger than I anticipated. I will definitely be returning back to this gym. read more

I called the location in Valley Stream NY  to cancel my membership and I was told I couldn't do that over the phone. I no longer live in New York. I moved to Florida. I asked to speak to a manager, they told me no one was available to speak to me.  When I signed up it said I can cancel at anytime. That's all I want to do. I don't need to spend money to send a notorized certified proof of address change to cancel my membership, which is what that person told me to do.  When I told him if he won't cancel I'll stop the automatic payments, he threatened me with calling the collection agency.  Now I don't know what kind if customer service training you provide, you need to do a better job. read more

I just really love how close this gym is by my house and how there's multiple Blinks in the city. But my concern is why aren't there paper towel dispensers around the gym? I know there's wipes to wipe down the equipment, but if I don't have a cloth towel, I'm forced to go to the bathroom just to wipe my sweat off. Also, why does it seem like there's no ventilation whatsoever inside? Are you creating the illusion that people are actually working out really hard by not circulating the air inside? It's always looks foggy when you look at the gym from the outside, which means there's no air ventilation inside. I'm not going to switch because I love how there's multiple locations, but I think this is a problem. read more

Pretty clean whenever I go. People are pretty good about reracking weights. I don't have to wait long for machines. There is a parking lot and street parking isn't bad. Much nicer than the Jamaica location. The bathroom is clean and has soap. read more

I've been a member here for a year and a half now. What I like most about it is the variety of equipment available in the free space area. It's great for circuits, stretching and warm-ups!. They also keep the place pretty clean and organized compared to what I've seen at competing gyms such as LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness. When it comes to parking, there's a complimentary valet lot which is great and plenty of metered street parking as well. The reasons I took off 2 stars was because of how crowded it can get, and the lack of classes. It is a very small gym, and because of the guest passes and cheap price, many people bring friends. From 6pm on, it's usually very hard to find machines and free-weights. All in all, its a decent bang for your buck! read more

Weird smell when you walk in. Free weight area is way too small. One bench. Parking is awful. Guys here don't put their weights away. I know that's not the gyms fault but seriously put your weights away. You get what you pay for. Place is cheap. Staff is nice. Clients UPDATE: Gym is constantly a mess. Parking still sucks. And on top of that the people who go here are literally the worse. They are slobs. Also my locker was broken into and had stuff stolen. I was told my membership was cancelled. Now receiving phone calls and emails that my card has been declined. Yeah thanks it was stolen. I wouldn't go here for free. The members have ruined this place. read more

This is a gym for people who don't go to the gym. I would rate this place lower than 1-star if I had the option. I thought this would be a great gym since it's been under construction for over a year, is close to my office, and only $15/month. Boy was I wrong. This place LITERALLY only has ONE BARBELL BENCH PRESS. ONE. They don't have an incline barbell bench press, nor a decline. Their free-weights section only goes up to 90lbs dumbbells. I decided to give it a shot this Monday with my coworker. We walked in at 6:15PM and the place was so mobbed that there was zero chance we'd ever get a free bench to do our chest workout. The dumbbell section had probably 100 people in a space probably made for no more than 20. There were about a half a dozen people waiting for an open bench, but even then, even if you luck out enough to ACTUALLY get a bench, there were so many people crowded around them, I could guarantee it would only be a matter of minutes before someone walked into your dumbbell mid-set. This place has tons of cardio equipment and nice cable machines, but it's OBVIOUS that this place is nothing more than a re-branded version of Planet Fitness. The place where you go to "feel" like you're doing well for yourself, but in reality, if you want to do well for yourself, you'll find yourself a real gym. I've HIGHLY suggested to my ENTIRE office of 30+ people who work in the building right behind the place NOT TO WASTE THEIR TIME! What a disappointment. read more

My biggest annoyance with this place has to do with the fact that the staff who were cleaning the gym were doing it RIGHT in front of people as we were working out--they used HARSH smelling chemicals that made it difficult to breathe. I was literally RUNNING on the treadmill when two men who were gossiping more than doing their job cleaned all the treadmills next to me, around me AND the one while I was on. One of the most annoying things you could do is be wiping down the equipment WHILE I am running--literally could not breathe!! Also wasn't a fan of how crowded it was. I like the gym the big issue I have are the hours. Friday's and weekends they close super early . I think eleven during week days is still kind of early for such a busy gym. But Friday's they close an hour earlier and sat and sun they close at 7 pm . I really think they should stay open later read more

This gym is very well kept and the staff is always professional and ready to help. They make sure they speak to Every guest coming in and out. The locker rooms are also well kept and pretty spacious with plenty of lockers available no matter the time of day. This location is a pretty decent size but can get it kind of crowded in the afternoon so you may have to dominate your workout space for a minute, especially in the stretching area. Overall this gym is a good location for those living in Rosedale/Lynbrook/valley stream. read more

A great addition to the area. Blink is a name that people know and the $15/mo is a price that people love. This Blink location is fairly new so the equipment is in good shape. There is plenty of ventilation throughout the gym and the locker room/bathroom is also in good condition. You also get a free startup session with a trainer on new memberships. Standard place to get a workout in and of course, avoid peak hours. Only took a star away because they could use more benches. read more

Great location located by trains and homes. The gym has very friendly staff that made joining easy. The gym offers a plethora of equipment to create any workout. It can get packed after 5pm because of everyone getting off work. One downside is there is only one water fountain in that large location so be sure to pack yours. read more

I like this gym but the trainers are really rude. They just knock you out the way. The area is really tight and I get it. I just don't understand why the trainers will squeeze you out if your already working out in a area. One time I just picked up my stuff and left. Two trainers actually sandwiched me. I tried to keep my space small but still. It's just frustrating that they don't respect people working out on there own. I have to start coming to the gym earlier. I wish I could afford a bigger gym but right now it's not possible. Guess I have to get here when they open. read more

See previous review for background on this. However I'm giving them a higher rating because... I appreciate their signs around the gym with reminders about racking weights, not dropping weights, not texting while sitting at a machine, etc. At least they're doing their part to educate people on gym etiquette. I wish they would get rid of some cardio machines on the weightlifting side and put in more leg press, chest press, EZ bars with higher weight, etc. I feel like there are so many cardio machines in the first room that the second group of cardio machines near the lockers aren't necessary. read more
