Maria was amazing from start to finish! We talked about our kids, had some laughs, and I felt completely comfortable with her. She took her time perfecting my brow lamination and wax. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My experience was terrible from start to finish. I scheduled an appointment and when I arrived the gal was running late, over 30 minutes late, this stressed me out, since I was leaving for an international trip at 5:00pm. She then insisted we take off the lashes I already had on and start with a new set. $40 removal fee and $190 fee to put on, ok fine. But, they literally started to fall off while I was on my flight that evening. They continued to shed and by the time I arrived in Indonesia 24 hours later, I was missing 1/4 of my right eye and I hadn't even slept in a bed yet. Within 5 days, all my lashes were off. I contacted them and they asked for a picture and then they ghosted me and never responded to me until I disputed the charge on my credit card and now they are fighting me. Do yourself a favor and find a professional salon that knows what they are doing. read more

Beware The service I received was a very poor quality. I informed the esthetician the following morning that I I'd like her to look at my lashes as they were barely visible. The esthetician basically said there was no more she could do that she put them on correctly and evenly. 3 days later I went to a woman in Oakley and spent the same amount of money and my new lashes exceed my expectations they are beautiful and I am now 3 weeks out and they are still long and beautiful. Let me start off by saying, that I came to this business in March and had eyelashes put on. When I came I was dressed up, hair done, make-up done, and looked the part. Today, I arrived at Blinks and Brows a very tired mother and school teacher, who had been lesson planning and grading my students' work all day. I was wearing black leggings and a black hooded sweatshirt and a face mask. I believe the owner of this establishment is racist and didn't acknowledge my appointment that she scheduled because she didn't want this "dressed down" black woman in her place of business. I called at 3:40pm to book an eyelash appointment. I was told all that was available for the same day was at 6 PM. Excited to get in I said, I said, that's fine I will take the appointment. Who will it be with? The woman on the phone said it's with me, Salma. She asked me to come early at 5:50, asked for my name and confirmed my 6pm appointment. Fast forward two hours, I pull up at Blinks and Brows and ring the doorbell. Salma comes walking up, opens the door, takes one look at my black skin, and her face immediately tells me she's not going to do my lashes. She barely opened the door. In the most dry, rude annoyed tone, she said "can I help you?" My stomach has already dropped at this point because I recognize the stare, the look in the eyes when it's clear from another person that my black skin is a problem. I kindly let her know my name and tell her I have an appointment. She looked at me like I have sh*t on my face and shakes her head no. She doesn't even said a word!! She continues to stare at me like she has no idea what I'm talking about, like she's waiting for me to leave, like I don't realize that it was her who I spoke with on the phone two hours earlier. There is absolutely no way she does not remember talking to me a couple hours before. She then has the audacity in the most dry rude tone once again to say "can I reschedule you." I purposely put a period at the end of that statement because when she said it to me it was a statement, not a question. She absolutely did not want to reschedule me. At this point I'm fuming inside and fighting back tears. I know businesses make genuine double booking mistakes, but this absolutely was not a scheduling issue. She took one look at me and decided she did not want to serve me. How about you apologize first for wasting my time, when you know you scheduled this appointment with me. Mind you, I had to find a sitter for my two littlest ones, and I was looking forward to getting away for a little mommy makeover. I will never ever schedule an appointment here because the business practices that she subscribes to are willfully racist and ignorant. In a time where most small businesses are struggling, I will 100% spend my money supporting those who actually care about their customers and value diversity, while kindly serving everyone. I encourage anyone who reads this review, to do the same and find a different business to support. This place is not it! Please note the owners comment under my review, that is a bold faced lie. I came exactly at the time I was scheduled to come. You scheduled the appointment for 6 PM and then, You told me multiple times to come "a little early" first you said "like 5:45" then you corrected yourself and said twice, "5:50." I teach hundreds of kids every day, I am very trained especially during this time of distance learning to understand and remember very clear conversations that I've had. If you had a customer in there like you said in this response, make it make sense that you asked me to come at 5:30? Also note that when I came, she never even acknowledged that I had an appointment at all nor did she mention having a customer. She acted like she never even spoke to me on the phone. Now on yelp she's acknowledging that there was a phone conversation. How funny. What does COVID regulations have to do with anything, when I had a mask on? I am a math and science school teacher who always follows and educates others on proper COVID regulations and procedures. Coming on Yelp to lie is not making things better, Salma. I definitely would not step foot in your shop. My black dollars are better spent somewhere where I'm valued as a freaking human being. I stand by my review. It was 100% honest. I've gotten my eyelashes done plenty of times before at many different salons. Thought to myself lets try blinks and brows it's affordable and they have great reviews. Got a full set then two weeks after I had my fill. The woman that helped me was friendly and the eyelashes looked great. But there was a problem that NEVER happened at any other salon. My eye would get swollen. I never noticed her get new instruments to use on me. She always had a client before me and I never saw her grab clean instruments to use on my lashes. Didn't worry me the first time thought we'll maybe the swelling was just a coincidence but this has never ever happened at any other salon. So I took a chance had my fill done. Same thing happened.
