If I could give less than 1 star I would. My little sister ordered a dress in MARCH and has yet to receive this dress. Christy has given her the run around for months. ALWAYS a BS excuse as to why the dress hasn't arrived. Anything from "I'm sick and my whole staff is too", "will be here tomorrow"(which she has been told FIVE times and still no dress!) "sorry, the truck showed up but I wasn't there." This lady is making what is supposed to be the best day of my sisters life into the most stressful thing she has ever dealt with. Fiancé ordered dress 7? Months in advance. Paid in full up front. Dress not ready first expected date. Not ready second expected date(full month after first date) then late another two weeks. BARELY ready two weeks prior to wedding. After missing first date we were told their dress maker makes them IN THE ORDER OF THE WEDDING DATES. Are you kidding me?!?!?!? If we had known that, I would've told her to tell them the wedding was in two months. If that is true, or maybe they just made excuses, that is absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful to the customers who order their dress in a timely manner. Couldn't asks for a better experience!!! Bliss is the best bridal shop in Lubbock! Couldn't be happier! Everyone was very helpful & actually wanted to be there! They have created a fun, intimate experience where you don't feel rushed or pressured like the other bridal stores in town. Being a bustier girl I also really appreciated the fact that they didn't try to shove me into a dress that either didn't fit or was unflattering. The ladies working gave their opinions & suggestions in a very sweet and helpful way. Everything I tried on was beautiful, & found a dress that I loved immediately for the first time! An added bonus is that they only order a style of dress once, so you're guaranteed to be the only one in town with *your* dress!! I ordered my dress in May and paid for it in full. A week ago, I still had not received my dress. After doing my research, I called the designer company of my dress and they said they had received the order and my dress was ready but they had not received the payment and would not ship it until they received the payment. Where was the money I paid Bliss? I have reason to believe that the money was used to pay for personal stuff rather than sent to the designer company. Also, Bliss is EXTREMELY hard to get ahold of. IF they answered my calls, I was told they would call me back and never did. I am not the only Bride dealing with this. I have heard from many other people that are going through the EXACT same thing. I am only posting this review to save future brides from experiencing the stress that I did. read more

Hands down the worst and most stressful part of planning my wedding - by a loooooooong shot. Two of my bridesmaids ordered their dresses from Bliss in August for my upcoming wedding in March. We were told that the dresses would arrive in October. October came and went, November rolled around, December rolled around, and January rolled around. No dresses. Mind you - both dresses had been paid for in full. We were told on countless occasions "They are going to ship this week. They are going to ship this week. They are on the truck and should arrive this week. I can tell you with 99% certainty that the dresses are in a box in the back that we haven't opened yet". But of course, they weren't on that truck, weren't in those boxes, were never in the store. When asked about tracking numbers, we were repeatedly lied to. One woman told us they shipped UPS. Another told us FedEx. I would have put more faith in a carrier pigeon flying over the Atlantic Ocean with the dresses. We called and asked so many questions regarding the arrival of the dresses that the store clerks wouldn't answer our calls when our numbers appeared on caller ID. They even went as far to take the phone off of the hook. When my bridesmaids decided to randomly drop into the store, the doors were locked and the lights were off - all during their normal posted business hours. We called every bridal store in West Texas to see if it was an option to purchase samples off of their rack. Ironically, every store was beyond helpful and willing to do just about anything to ensure that my friends had their dresses before my big day. Stores that had literally zero obligation to help us. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Bliss. This store is full of empty promises and empty dress bags. read more

Long post... Please read to the end! I went into Bliss Bridal August 31st and purchased my wedding dress in full. That was the first red flag. Most bridal boutiques only make you put half of the money down to secure the deposit on the dress--and you pay the other half when the dress arrives in store and the merchandise is received. Please keep this in mind when purchasing a dress, no matter where you decide to buy it. When I asked how soon my dress could be here, they would only ask me what my wedding date was. I didn't feel like that should matter, I just needed to know how soon I could get it in so that I could prepare for alterations, bridals, etc. However, I told them my wedding was in March, and they said that shouldn't be a problem, and that my dress should be here by December. I scheduled my alterations and bridals for the beginning of January, leaving me plenty of time to prepare for the wedding. I received an anonymous call in September (after I had already ordered my dress and paid in full) telling me that I needed to do a little more research on Bliss and read the *RECENT* reviews carefully. If I can give anyone reading this review any advice--it would be to read the reviews, especially the bad ones! I called Bliss because I was concerned about my dress order and of course, no answer. They went out of their way to screen all of my calls, so I had to physically go by the store. Kristi promised that she had ordered my dress, but I knew something was extremely sketchy. You know those gut feelings you get sometimes? Yeah, I had that. I went into the store and I stated that I wanted my money back and to cancel my order, but they said they wouldn't be able to do that. When I asked for proof of order, they couldn't provide me a tracking number--just some false information that looked like they typed it up themselves in a spread sheet. We contacted the dress manufacturer (Stella York) and they told me that my dress had been ordered, but they had not received the payment from Bliss so they couldn't ship my dress out. Keep in mind that I had already paid for my dress *in full* but the dress manufacturer was waiting on their money from Bliss. Do the math here--Someone made some money, and it was neither me nor the dress manufacturer. December finally rolled around and I decided to give Bliss a call to see if my dress was in. Of course, call after call and still no answer. I had left messages and no one would return my calls either. I knew that my dress hadn't been ordered, but I figured I could try to get my money back. I went by the store today and talked with Kristi. She told me that my dress WAS IN THE STORE... but she couldn't show it to me. Does this make any sense to you? Yeah, me neither. Couldn't even let me see the dress that I paid for in full, a month after it was supposed to be here. I know what the problem is here despite the lies I was told--there was never any intention of me receiving my dress from Bliss from day one. I paid for a dress that I will never receive, and I want to let everyone know that it has been a long, stressful process. Sadly, I ended up having to buy another dress from a different bridal boutique. If I could give anyone one piece of advice, it would be to shop elsewhere for your dress and save yourself the time, money, and headache. This should be a fun, fabulous, and fantastic time for you planning your wedding! Do not let your wedding planning process be ruined by getting scammed out of one of the biggest dress purchases of your life. I do not recommend Bliss Bridal Boutique. read more

Even though I didn't find "the dress" at Bliss, I still had a very positive experience. The owner and another woman were both there helping me. I loved that there weren't hoards of people in the store at the same time. I could relax, think about what I wanted, and not feel rushed. They were very helpful and honest about what worked on my body and what didn't. The only drawback is that I often didn't feel like we were being heard in what styles we preferred. It might have been due to the limited selection, but there were certain dresses I was definitely less interest in that I kept being shown even after repeated clarifications. All around, a good and helpful experience. read more

I overall had a frustrating experience with Bliss. My main issue was the complete lack of communication and respect for my family's time and money. I do not live in Lubbock, so I had to take time off of work and travel to get my fitting because my fiance is stationed in Colorado. They cancelled my first alteration appointment 1 DAY before I left for Lubbock on an 8 hour drive. The only response I got was "I'm sorry". When I got to Lubbock, they never answered the phone or called me back. I had to physically drive to the store to get a response from someone. I felt very slighted and thought this was a VERY disrespectful way to handle a concerned customer. My mother and I tried our best to be as patient as possible because we knew it is a very busy time of the year for weddings, but we did not receive the same accommodation or respect. They only seemed responsive when they wanted our money. Secondly, she decided to order a new dress for me, but the dress kept getting pushed back further and further until I had to keep calling them to get an update. We mentioned at the beginning that there is a time crunch and were told it would not be a problem. We never received a receipt for this dress or any paperwork either. I was told consistently that it would be in "in a few weeks" before I became so frustrated that they forgot my wedding date and did not seem to realize they were only leaving me 2 weeks to get my dress fitted. It was not my decision to order a new dress, but they insisted I wear the new dress. Unacceptable. I was not given an explanation or apology and my family had to leave several voicemails before finally, they were somehow able to order the dress to be delivered that week..I'm not sure why this was not done in the first place, since it was their idea in the first place. All in all, I wish I was treated with respect and that my time was valued. My mother bought 2 dresses from Bliss within a year and my sister had a much easier time. After the initial appointment, we were not pleased at all with how everything was handled. The appointments were very enjoyable and the dress is absolutely perfect for me, she did a great job picking it for me. Response time was just simply the worst and I felt like I never received any type of explanation or apology. Do not shop here if you are at all worried about your dress being in on time or if you like hearing back about the status of your very expensive and significant purchase. read more

I recently visited Bliss for my first ever bridal appointment. From the very beginning of the appointment, until the very end, it was an awkward affair. My maid-of-honor and I arrived at the appointment promptly at our appointed time of 5pm, once we arrived we were informed by their manager that we could not begin my appointment until the owner arrived. The owner arrived 5 min late for my appointment. I then told her I wanted a strapless dress, with a modest bodice. She then took us up stairs to a cramped fitting area. She completely ignored what I wanted and had me try on an ill-fitting lace fitted gown that had sleeves. It was difficult to perceive how I would have looked in the dress because they did not clip the gown, nor did they have the space for me to fully see my dress in the mirror. The owner was very pushy, and did not listen to what I wanted to try-on at all. She was a little too familiar with my maid-of-honor and myself than I would have deemed polite. She sat with us during the whole appointment. The owner also seemed to have very little knowledge about alterations during the appointment. And I only say this because of appointments I had after this appointment that led me to believe that the owner did not know what she was doing. For instance, on one of the dresses the bust was a little to deep for my liking. The owner suggested I wear an invisible body-suit that wouldn't show under my dress to cover the cleavage, my maid-of-honor had to be the one to suggest a much more simpler solution of a modesty panel. She also let me have very little say as to what I could try-on. And she said that I should only buy the dresses from her floor. During the appointment I expressed the desire to try-on a ballgown. She discouraged me from trying it on. Later, after the appointment, my maid-of-honor told me that the owner told her that "(I) should stay as far away as possible from ballgowns with those hips of (mine)". My maid-of-honor also told me that she made some derogatory comments about her weight in relation to bridesmaid's dresses. The owner also encouraged my maid-of-honor in looking into maternity cut styles for her body. The owner gave me very little feedback or interaction, and spent most of her energies focused on my maid-of-honor for her opinion, once she found out that my maid-of-honor was purchasing my dress for me. They also made a couple remarks about my undergarments that made me self-conscious as well as remarks about previous brides' undergarments that was inappropriate to share with myself. At the end of the appointment, she insisted that if I were to choose a dress there that she would be required to come with me to all my fittings....which I thought was a little invasive. Overall, I would say that this business could improve itself with a little less involvement with their rude and brusque owner. I will however concede, that the manager that helped me in and out of my dresses was very kind and very friendly. And that I'm reluctant and sad to say that my experience with her was overshadowed and ruined with my experience with her owner. read more

My cousin ordered and paid in full for her dress in April of last year, her dress is still not in Feb. 1 2019. She doesn't even know if she will get her dress at all or her money back. Her wedding is in May!! She works full time and has a baby, she is busy getting her wedding ready and this is not something she should have to worry about!!! read more

An un-blissful experience I wish there was a rating less than one star. I went in March for my dress appoint at Bliss. Everything was good and I had said yes to the dress, but quickly realized they had put me in a dress twice my budget. This was a red flag, but we got it handled. We paid in full that day. The next day, I received a call saying I'd be getting a call on September 1st to come pick up my dress. Sept 1st came and I got no call, so I called the store myself. The employee was rude to me and told me my dress hadn't even shipped yet, but would be there by the end of the month. She said they'd call me when it got there, and hung up on me. I waited patiently, but when Oct 1st came and I still hadn't received a call/call back, I called the store again. When I mentioned my name and why I was calling, the employee told me she was helping a customer and would call me back by the end of the business day. That call back never happened. So, the next day, my grandmother and I went down to the store (which was actually closed, so we had to go to Bliss' other store next door) where the employee told us she wasn't able to access my info. This employee then proceeded to give me a lecture on the wedding dress industry, and then tried to tell me when to take my bridals, and not to worry about how long alterations would take. She told us the owner would call us by the end of the day with information on my dress. That call never happened either. So, the next day, my mom took to Facebook. After she wrote a poor review, I finally got a call back from the bookkeeper who claimed she had no idea I was calling, and gave me all kinds of excuses, blaming the dress company for all the boutiques mess ups. At least, though, she had the decency to apologize! She told me over the phone that the dress company was holding my dress "for some reason" but it would be here by the end of Oct. Finally I thought I had some answers! But then, as we approached the end of October, my father and I wanted an update on the dress. He contacted the dress company, who basically explained that, legitimately, it was the boutique's fault that we didn't have a dress yet. Dress companies ship out orders when they get paid for them, so you can do the math on why it hadn't shipped. We went down to the store again to get an update on my dress. We spoke to the owner who said "oh two weeks! It will be here in two weeks!" She gave us the same lecture about the company holding my dress due to "how the wedding dress industry works." My dad asked to call the dress company while we were there, because we were getting two different stories. The owner claimed that the company had just closed for the day so my dad went in the following business day, where he was forced to wait an hour and a half just to see the owner who then wasn't "able to get a hold of the dress company." But she guaranteed my dad that the dress would be there by week's end, that she would make the alterations appointment for us on Sat am, and would meet us there with the dress. As we are leaving for the appointment Sat am, we get a call from the owner saying that she "forgot to confirm overnight shipping" and my dress wouldn't be here until the following Tuesday, but not to worry about alterations. I called the alterations lady, who told me the owner had never even confirmed the original appt. with her. Bliss' owner also refused to give us the tracking number because "there were three other dresses coming in the same box." Because of another delay, we made a new alterations appt. for Wed at 3:30. We asked if we could take the dress off the rack I tried on, but the owner had told us it had been sold already. Probably because bliss is no longer even a vendor for that company, so they had to make money somehow. She offered me another dress, but why would I take some random dress when mine would be here a few days later? Tues comes, and the owner tells us she's "just as excited as we are for the dress to arrive" but the dress never shows up. On Wed morning she tells my dad that the dress was scanned in that am, but she was going to go out to pick it up. At 3:15 (when we were just about to leave for alterations) we get a call from the store saying she lost her phone digging through packages and they can't find the box with my dress. Then she says she called the dress company and they just so happened to have the same dress in the same size and the same color in stock, and so she ordered it for overnight, and it would be here the next day (Thurs). Because of another delay, we had to reschedule the alterations and bridal portrait appointments. We finally got a tracking number and the dress ended up coming in on Friday. This put our alterations person in a huge bind, but she was able to get it done. Long story short: Don't waste your time or money at Bliss. They have caused much more stress than necessary on me, my family, and fiancé. Don't let them scam you. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place! The ladies in there made sure that there were many styles to choose from. It was obvious that they were not there just to sell a dress, but to make sure my daughter found THE dress. It was casual and relaxing, no pressure, just lots and lots of dresses to try on. My daughter's budget was small and they didn't bring in dresses that she could't afford but found an abundance of dresses in her price range. Wow is the first word that comes to my mind when recalling my experience at Bliss Bridal. I was a walk-in, no appointment, after remembering I had driven by the boutique one time. I had never heard of Bliss but am so glad that was my first stop. After a horrendous online shopping experience, I was left without a wedding dress 2 weeks before my wedding date! I told the ladies there this information and they told me not to worry, they would find me a dress...and they did! I was skeptical as I am 5 mos. pregnant and didn't think an off the rack dress would accommodate my body shape but they were fantastic in helping me find a flattering dress that I absolutely love and was not an exorbitant price! Cannot give the ladies at Bliss, especially the owner, enough accolades for their friendliness and professionalism in calming down and coming through for a pregnant, hormonal, stressed out bride! I also purchased monogrammed gifts for the bridal party there and they were very helpful with that as well.
