I can not say enough good things about Don. After the whole process was done, the photos were just a small part of what was a wonderful experience. I also found Don on Yelp. He was quick to respond and easy to talk to. He sent me some more of his work upon my request. His work is absolutely amazing. He was also EXTREMELY reasonably priced. He came to the place we chose for a shoot. This was to be a first time photo shoot of family that was in town for a short time. We were all together for the first time in a long time. We scheduled a day, which is not easy to do with so many people. Unfortunately the only day our family could all agree on turned out to be a rainy day. Don was open to reschedule without a problem, but it didn't work our for us. So we shot on a rainy day. Our group was made up of people from ages 2-78... as you can imagine, the rain made it somewhat uncomfortable. But the pictures Don took turned out amazing nonetheless. Don Le is the BEST! Don recently did photography for my wedding in Laguna Beach and I can't complement him enough. I originally contacted Don just for photography, but he included video into my package at a great deal! The attention to detail, effort, and consideration Don and his associate Nate put into our wedding day was truly epic and went above and beyond my expectations. He showed up at 3:30 for a 6pm ceremony, and took plenty of shots of us getting ready for the big moment. Don not only took great photos of the wedding, but he stayed around for another hour on site to do more of just me and my wife. Don and Nate didn't stop there....they followed our wedding party to our reception in Newport Beach and ended up working until past 11pm!!! Don did an amazing job editing our photos, and put together a classic wedding video. My wife was in tears of joy when she saw the video for the first time, it was truly a work of art. I can't say enough how much I recommend Don for your wedding needs. The other clown photographers I talked to were charging by the hour, didn't or couldn't do video, wanted extra $ for another person (someone needs to control the flash and help out for any legit photographer)....Don definitely made me feel good about my choice. What an absolute joy it has been for my husband, Dominic, and I to have found Johnny D. Nguyen and the team at Bliss Imagery to document our wedding day! From the moment we started researching photographers and videographers for our big day, we knew what we did and did not want for our wedding photos and video. We definitely wanted to steer clear of the typical Vietnamese studio shoots and the ho hum wedding videos depicting one boring relative after another talking into a microphone. I asked Don for an in-studio and outside photography. He was amazing! He took his time to take enough pictures to ensure the right lighting, the right pose, the right angle. For the outside session, I asked him to do a photo session at my ballroom competition at the 2010 Embassy Ball at the Hyatt. DON is FANTASTIC!!! I had such a great time doing my shoot with him and the photos came out excellent, better than I could have hoped for. Don is very friendly, easy-going and overall just a pleasure to work with. He gave me room to share my ideas and do my thing while also giving great creative guidance. He seems very passionate. Called Don @ 5pm last minute after I saw him on Yelp because I needed a couple headshots (literally only 2 shots), he scheduled me an hour later to accomodate me which was sweet. He ended up spending over 2 hours with me and took over 500 shots and helped me select and edit my final shot choices. On top of that, he even shot dance clips of me, edited them and gave me the footage at no additional charge! Don expressed commitment and professionalism during our first session and went above and beyond what I would have expected for my last minute headshots. Overall customer service: 4/5 Johnny did a great job answering our questions and working with us through the whole process. [[Side note to anyone getting married: pick a photographer/company who you would like to work with for a long period of time. It's been about a year that we've been working with Bliss. Having a good customer service is vital.]] Engagement session: 4/5 Our session with Don Le went very well. Don was professional and patient. He spent a couple hours with us getting shots with different poses, locations, props, etc. He gave direction and listened to what we thought would be cool. We liked the final photos but would have incorporated fewer props if we were to do it over again. Out of all the super cool images we got, there wasn't one that we could blow up for the lobby of our wedding hall. Although, we did use a number of other photos around the hall and they are great keepsakes. Photo/Video (Day of): 4/5 Bliss was there from the time I was getting ready in the morning to when we left the hall in the evening. The photographers did a great job getting the details of our wedding hall, the special moments of the events, and capturing our wonderful guests. Amanda was a rock star for following us during the reception so we could get group photos with our guests and she stayed on the dance floor getting fun shots of everyone having a great time. The videographer did a great job throughout the day as well. Photo booth (Day of): 2/5 We had a photo booth (prom style) set up during the reception. We provided a printer to Bliss which we dropped off prior to the wedding for them to figure out the work flow. We wanted our guests to be able to take a photo home with them. The guests loved this but we did have complaints that the work flow wasn't actually as smooth as we had hoped. Many of our guests did not receive their printed photo and it slowed down the line making the wait time a little too long. This service could definitely use some improvement. Wedding Trailer: 4/5 Bliss did a great job summarizing our wedding day into a 8 minute highlights reel. We had a long list of notes during the revisions (my husband is a professional editor so he makes a tough client ;)) and they were very patient and accommodating. I think there were three different people that took over the video since the previous editors got busy or something. This delayed the revisions coming back to us. Overall, we are happy with the final project and we were able to send it out with our Holiday email (so it took... about 7 months to complete). Our friends and family all agree that it summarized our day very well. Photos/footage: 3/5 Bliss was very accommodating and filled up a hard drive that we provided with the raw photos and footage. The quality of everything was pretty good. Printing: 2/5 As part of our package we received 3 canvas prints... one 16x20 and two 11x14. Once we finally received the canvases we were very disappointed. The quality of these was not very good. The colors on all the prints were completely off. For example the prints either had elevated blacks, a HUGE blue hue over my husband's face in the black and white print, or look extremely washed out. All the prints were also off centered from the frame and overall look hastily put together. We notified Johnny and he had me drop off the canvases and had his printer remake them. We got new ones a month later (yes... a month later!). The smaller black and white photos were MUCH better but the larger colored one still lacked the quality we were expecting to receive. We sent photos and expressed our disappointment to Johnny again. A week later he said he found a new printer who would make our larger colored canvas. It just arrived and looks much better. We can now hang these on the wall. Third time is a charm I guess, but the time we had to wait to get a decent product took way too long. Actual rating = 3.5; however I rounded up to 4 since Johnny did a great job wanting to make us happy throughout the whole process and we ended up with what we wanted. Note to Yelpers looking for photographers/videographers: If you book Bliss you will be booking the company rather than an individual photographer/videographer. They end up booking whoever is available the day of your event (and of course whom they think will best meet your needs). During our first meeting we specifically asked for a photographer for our engagement session that would be the main one for our wedding. This was not the case. We still ended up with great people and great photographs, but every photographer's style is different so just keep this in mind. Overall, our experience with Bliss was a positive one. He was very professional and was able to work with my budget. He went over and beyond my expectations because we had agreed on a set amount of pictures that he would edit and he did more than he originally agreed to do. Lily and Nam were assigned to do my wedding. They arrived early and took the time to get the detailed shots we needed to make the day special. They were extremely nice and interacted well with my guests. I only have one compliant which is I wish they would have paid more attention to their shots. There were a couple photos that were taken of my spouse where his boutonniere was crooked or his jacket was not straight. Other than that, they were great. I would definitely recommend for any event. Do NOT use this business. They will charge you for services upfront and will NOT deliver on contracts. While searching for photographers & videographers for our June wedding, I came across BLISS through YELP. Reviews were positive & pictures were great on their website. We decided to stop by their office to get a better idea about their business & what they could offer. We met Johnny, their office manager who assured us that we would get engagement photos, raw photos of from our wedding, 150 edited photos, a full-length film of our wedding & reception & a concise artistic version of the day's events. We also decided to add a same day edit video to be played at our reception for an additional $1000. We negotiated a price of over $5000 & all terms/services of the contract were to be complete by 1 month following our event. At our June wedding, everyone including ourselves were impressed by the 9 minute same day edit & were excited to see the photos & videos following. One month passes; we do not hear from anyone at BLISS. No DVDs, CDs, or photos have been sent to us. My husband told me not to rush them & was hopeful that they were creating a beautiful end product. Then, month two (August) comes & still no word. My husband begins emailing them. Initially Johnny had been responsive but now was no longer answering our inquiries. Then 3 months...4 months. My husband gets a hold of them in October & offers to mail them a hard-drive to hold all our photos & videos. We send it out...we wait another two weeks, Johnny says he is waiting on Nick his photographer to provide the photos. We finally receive the hard-drive at the end if October. Excited, I go through it...lots of pictures, no complete video? What we received were 10 second video clips, some with sound, some without, some with footage of the floor as the videographer was walking. No full length video. No artistic version. We inquired about this & again were ignored by Johnny who stated it should be on the hard-drive. In addition to the videos, we are still waiting for our edited photos & it is now January...7 months later. read more

I may be biased, but I would argue that Don from Bliss Imagery is the best wedding photographer in the Southern California area! After quite a few photographer phone interviews, we instantly knew, when talking with Don and reviewing his work, that he was different. On the wedding day, Don and his assistant went above and beyond our expectations. One of the biggest comments from our guests was how great Don and his assistant were and how dedicated to getting the perfect shots they were. Don also ensured that we got all the shots in but were fully present and enjoying our wedding. Don is extremely talented and has an eye for seeing things that will make absolutely fantastic pictures.
