I came into bliss based on Yelp recommendations and am SO GLAD I DID! With pretty curly hair (type 3B) I am always apprehensive to get a hair cut because I have been burned before. However, i knew it was time for a cut and style and also wanted to get some highlights for the first time ever. I went to Bliss and had an appointment with Mary and wow I am SO SO pleased and thankful! Mary did an amazing job turning my vision into a reality. It was a long appointment but she really took her time and picked out the best color palette for my hair and I really could not be happier. I recommend Bliss and Mary to anyone and will only be coming here for my hair needs. Also, they apparently have spa services which I haven't used yet but would endorse and hope to try soon based solely on the cleanliness and maintenance of the main area and the skill and patients of the staff I interacted with. read more

I came in for a much needed massage and it was amazing~ my masseuse (wish I got her name) was super sweet and did an incredible job and I felt incredibly relaxed afterwards~ I got the swedish massage, filled out the intake form (the receptionist was so kind, sweet, and attentive!), And when I was called in I let her know I liked firm pressure and told her to specifically focus a little bit more on my neck and shoulders, and from there the massage was perfect. I really enjoyed how she didn't try to converse with me, which allowed me to truly relax and doze off at some parts, but when it was firm- she was FIRM- which was exactly what I needed. She was able to work on my whole body, and it felt much longer than an hour. Afterwards she gave me a small bottle of water and was kind, professional, and courteous the whole time. I got a deep tissue massage at Bliss and it was hands down the best I've had (I've had many due to a recurring issue with my shoulder). My masseuse was very professional. It was clear she was highly trained. She knew how to get into the spots that were really bothering me. I highly recommend this service. I am so happy I found Bliss! I was so upset after I used a box color on my hair and it was a disaster. It was very dark and muddy and I also had significant gray roots. I went to Bliss for a color correction and Tracey performed a miracle for me. She made my new color a golden brown that was much brighter for me and my skin tone. She truly is an artist!! Went to Bliss today for a birthday spa for myself and Mother's Day gift for my mom. The spa/salon was cozy and relaxing. Everyone was extremely nice to my mom, a friend of our and myself. They gave us free wine slushee (which are delicious ). We all got the Bliss Spa package (includes 1hr Swedish massage, facial and mani/pedi). Tara did an amazing facial, Helen was awesome with the massage and Sarah who did our mani/ pedi is hilarious, we really enjoyed her (side bar she should have her own reality show). The price was very reasonable for such an extensive service. I would definitely recommend Bliss spa to anyone looking for a relaxing experience. read more

I can not say enough good things about Bliss Salon and Day Spa! It is an oasis where I go into the most relaxing, pampered atmosphere and state of mind! Tara Shade, owner of Bliss has given me excellent facials that left my skin feeling new, so polished and fresh. She also gave me some excellent tips for my daily skin regimen. I absolutely LOVE the massages with Helen Ashbee, where I recently tried her specialty, "Deep Tissue" massage for a 1 1/2 hours! Helen paid close attention to my areas of concern and left me feeling so very relaxed! I have restless leg syndrome and wake up several times a night. Well, I slept 11 1/2 hours straight that night and have continued to sleep well! I will be returning on a regular basis to continue this therapeutic, relaxing massage! She also gave me several tips to help my back! Next time I'm going to try their nail salon, too. Don't every buy a gift certificate from them. Had one given as a gift with no expiration written on it and they would not honor it because it was bought over a year ago. Owner said it is assumed that expiration is in a year although there was no date written. read more

This was my first facial ever and probably my last. I arrived early to my appointment to be brought back about 30 minutes later to a back room. My consult lasted 20-30 minutes and consisted of the facialist berating my choices in face wash (I am not a professional for a reason), having to convince her I was diagnosed with rosacea by a dermatologist and a horrible attitude where I felt like I was burdening her with my presence. I choose microneedling from the website and although she stated it would not do much for my skin, my request for her opinion on changes were not taken into account. There was no cleansing of the skin before starting other than a quick witch's hazel to strip my moisturizer. The facialist slapped on a small amount of cream afterwards and sent me on my way less than 10 minutes later. Definitely one of the least relaxing experiences of my life. Luckily I had a gift card or the 75 dollar price tag would have made me wanted to cry more than I already did. If there was a minus zero star, it would have been too good for my experience here. I found Bliss through Groupon. I saw the three thumbs up on the Groupon site (unfortunately I hadn't seen the review on here at that point) so I thought it would be a good idea and I booked in for a colour and cut. When I rang up to make the appointment I mentioned that I needed an experienced stylist because I have strong, thick Asian hair. I was assured that it would be ok and was put with Whitney. I was a bit confused when I first saw the stylist as two of the three thumbs up on Groupon mentioned how good she was, but she seemed very sluggish and didn't seem that interested in being there. She warmed up a bit once we got going, but it was obviously a chore for her. After having two experiences with colour that wouldn't take at other salons, I told her and she assured me that she would put more on. The colour came out a couple of shades lighter than what I wanted at the top and the bottom looked like it had hardly any colour on it (and when I got home and inspected it closer, I could see that there were some areas that were completely missed). She didn't wear any gloves and I suppose this should have been an indication to me too, a professional hair colourist not wearing gloves? She asked me what I wanted done with the style and I said that I wanted to keep the length and to just cut enough off to get rid of the split ends. I knew that having not had a haircut for six months and using straighteners, there would be plenty of split ends. She hardly cut the hair and when I checked the hair later I could see loads of split ends and have had to get another cut since then that really got rid of the split ends. The worst part are my bangs. I have long, heavy bangs that slope down on either side. I asked her to just give them a good trim, but keep the shape. She suggested eyebrow length and I agreed. I assumed she would be able to tell that my hair bounces up and so would accommodate that. She then cut a big chunk out the middle and asked if that was an ok length. It was way too short, but there was no way anything could have been done about it to make it better and so I just agreed. She then proceeded to cut right across the bangs with no graduating at the sides. Then, it seems that she remembered that there was a sloping at the side because she started to cut a big graduating area of hair at one side. When she had finished she asked me if it was ok and I replied saying it was just hair hoping that she would pick up on that. I didn't say anything because every step was too late to say anything and I guess I felt like maybe she was having a bad day and I didn't want to make a fuss. I didn't see how bad it really was until I got home and had a good inspection of it. We rang up the salon and they asked if I wanted to go back in and they would rectify it, but I didn't want to go back in somewhere that had already made such a mess already. Fortunately I got my money back from Groupon, but I lost the $16.00 tip that I gave her (because the Groupon voucher stated that you should give them the tip for the original price, not the discount, and I try to do the right thing). I was due to get on the plane two days later and I really wanted a great colour and cut to arrive home with. Instead I got the colour and cut from hell from somebody who seemed stoned and totally uninterested in being there. read more

I asked for a balayage and after the first try I had an evident straight line of blonde and brown. It was not blended in AT ALL. It looked like I had grown out roots and didn't do anything for it for months. I had shown her 3 different pictures of what I wanted. The hairdresser had to redo it and it looked the exact same the second time except there was more brown, but still a straight line. I went out and bought a hat that day to hide the awfulness that was my hair. I had to come back a few days later. Although it was a little blended in after the third, there was still a line and it did not look professional at all. The hairdresser even had help from another hairdresser because she clearly did not know what she was doing. The extra help did not help at all. It still looked horrible and I was embarrassed to go in public with my hair looking how it did. I am highly upset with my visits and I will never go back nor recommend this place. I spent almost 10 hours at this salon within 3 days and spend 100$ only to have to go to another salon to pay another 100$ to fix my hair. I should not have paid anything for the service because it was not what I asked for at all! The stylist should have said beforehand that balayages is not her speciality.
