I decided to go looking at a few shops just to get the shopping experience. My first stop was not successful, nothing too concerning but I didn't like anything I tried on very much- all fit uncomfortably and nothing in the style I liked. I went into my appointment at Victoria's feeling concerned about having no idea what I would like or thought I would like. After some discussion, Kathy picked a few options for me and I can honestly say I really liked almost everything I tried on at the store! They were all in the realm of something I would like and felt flattering and relatively comfortable for the style of dress. Her lines of clothing are very well chosen and of high quality. She knows how every line will fit and makes suggestions accordingly. The accessories, including scarves and jewelry, are also unique. These are not things you'll find in a department store and I don't know of a place in Rochester where you'd find the things I find here. Laura meticulously maintains her space. The building itself, inside and out, has been remodeled in a manner that respects the age of the building and yet modernizes it. I tried on one other suit -- more because I felt like I should, not because of any pressure -- and realized instantly that the first one was THE one. I haven't been this excited to buy a new bathing suit in 40+ years. Are they pricey? We'd never heard of this quaint little store, but we're so glad we took the time to come in. Here's why. When you first walk in, you see a lot of Christmas gifts and decorations. Don't let that fool you though, there's something for everyone here. The store is so nicely decorated that I almost said "awww." The owner was right there at the counter with another employee, chatting about the Bills game. She greeted us warmly as we started to look around. There were a lot of neat gifts, clothing, and accessories in the front, center, and back of the store. They even had some witchy items, which is right up my alley. Their sale section has a lot of really nice clothes in it. My cousin bought a jacket and dress, which made the owner take notice. She was wearing the same dress my cousin had bought! I got a moon phase candle and a pretty headband. See? There're a lot of different products here! The owner talked to us for a bit before we left and she was really sweet. I'd definitely come back here, especially since she stocks a lot of things made by local artisans. This shop is so cute and stylish at the same time. I was greeted by three friendly ladies who gave me several goodies including a coupon for 20% off any single item purchase. Upon browsing, I saw lots of cute unique items (all products are made by Buffalo small businesses, love keeping it local) but the Buffalo earrings really caught my eye! My free swag bag also came with a bath bomb, lip scrub, matcha tea candy, chocolate chip cookies and even a $10 off coupon to dinner at the nearby Eagle House. This space is on the side, no Main Street facing storefront. However, once you find it, and park your car (in the large easy spaces they have), you will be thrilled. First, Freddie (Frankie?) will meet you at the door. She's (yes, she, name notwithstanding) a fabulously beautiful dog. Midsize and super friendly. You don't have to be a dog lover to appreciate her. Once inside past her "gate" the space is surprisingly large. Lots of material on display and then a large room in back with all sorts of quilts and quilters. The quilts were on the wall and the quilters at the table. It seemed like a friendly group. The material is displayed mostly by color, but there is a "fun pattern section" too. I was there to pick up a "row by row" pattern for someone. They have them behind the counter waiting to be asked for. If I were a quilter Id come back here for sure. I may come back to get some material for pillows we are making for the outside furniture.
