I love the selection, the sizing system, The sales ..Really great. BUT The customer service... ugh. It's like that scene out of pretty woman when Julia Robert's walks in and they ignore her. Years ago I think they were the same three or four sales ladies in there. One of them was friendly the others not so much. If you weren't dressed to the nines, they would ignore you whether you could afford the clothing or not. He got to the point where I used to go out of my way and drive to the Orchard Park location because they were much friendlier. A few days ago there was a particular item that I was looking for and purchased online and needed to go to the store to pick up since there is no longer in Orchard Park store I went to the one in Williamsville, the only one in our area. Upon entering, there were two sales people in the store, no customers. One of the sales people was in the corner of the store far for me and the lady who was working at the counter didn't even look back, but said a very disinterested hello. I did find a few items to try on and had them in my arms. She barely acknowledged and just said again under her breath into herself the dressing room rooms are unlocked. The other lady came over. Asked my name wrote my name on the door and helped me into the dressing room. That's more like the customer service that I am used to there. At that time I asked about my order online. The first woman, the unfriendly one, said we don't have any order and I said well I ordered it online and got a confirmation. She said that that's impossible. We don't have anything . The friendly sales lady asked me what the item was. I told her and the unfriendly sales person said oh there is one of those in the back. Let me bring it out of course that was my shirt, but apparently she goes online lags quite far behind the sale hadn't gone through yet. More on that later. I went to check out the unfriendly lady never made eye contact with me, continued her work and basically seem to be telling the other lady what to do and how to do it, even though I know the other sales woman has worked there for many many years. They both have I made my purchase and left the store and I won't be back. I even put an item on hold thinking I would go back the next day and purchase it, but I was thinking why would I subject myself to unfriendly sales people. I went home and ordered a T-shirt I initially wanted and had it mailed to my house. The order took immediately. Then two days after that I got an email from Chico online saying my initial order was available at the store. Looks like I will have to go back to cancel the order anyway. I can hardly wait. These women need a lesson in putting the customer and customer service. The one lady behind the counter who I am, assuming is the Manager has an attitude that is horrible. No eye contact, not friendly, and I would like to say she was having an off day, but as I said before, she has worked there for years and it has always been this way. The other women that used to work at that store had the same attitude. I'll just stick to buying online. I only gave two stars because of the merchandise.

Docking a star because compared to similar stores, the products here were not as neatly displayed and the line was long. The cashiers were friendly and helpful though!

But this store is not that (anymore). Burlington still has some nice outerwear, but they're a whole lot more than coats! I should get this out of the way early -- Burlington offers a five-star shopping experience unless you need a dressing room, in which case, a solid four point five stars. They have dressing rooms, but they aren't always open. I think it began during Covid, and my guess is, it's been hard to find good help and when you've got to work with a less-than-full staff, that's kind of the obvious place to cut. Anyway, I don't really know when the dressing rooms are open and when they're not, but they were not open a couple of days ago when I took my mom in to do a little shopping. Fortunately for us, there's no reason to test out their return policy. Burlington really is one of my favorite stops for clothing. They've got a really nice selection of clothes for ladies, men, juniors, and kids. I love their brands and the prices are super-affordable. There have been a few times I found clothes on the hanger that should have been in a bin to send back to the manufacturer - a rip here or a stain there. But most of the time, the clothes are exactly as they should be when you're buying NEW clothes. One of my favorite aisles at Burlington is the home decor section. The picture frames, shelf sitters, candles, wooden signs -- I just can't resist myself! They make great gifts or seasonal decor when I'm looking to change things out. Burlington has a rewards program or some kind of Burlington super-fan thing. I honestly don't know what it is, but if you give them your phone number every time you go, they find you and say, "yeah - you're in the program!" and then they ring you up and you pay them and then they thank you and send you on your way. I have no idea what else is happening, honestly. I don't know if I'm earning points or just giving away personal information. But they have a program like that if you're looking for one. Customer service is great. The cashiers are always friendly and nice to chit-chat with while you're checking out. Oh - and here's a tip -- don't try to take your cart out to your car. Trust me; don't even try it.

It's hard to buy tap, jazz or ballet shoes without trying them on for size and proper fit. On-line (Amazon or Discount dance) is ok for accessories and if you are sure of the fit of your clothing/ dance tights and leotards. For shoes specifically we don't think it wise to Internet order. Going into her 11th year of formal dance classes, my teen daughter was excited to get her first pointe ballet slippers. A true ballerina! She was a bitty 4 year old baby ballerina when she started. We shopped at Baileys earlier this week. The young lady who waited on us was helpful. She brought out several pairs of pointe ballet shoes (the kind that allows the ballerina to stand on her toes - ouch) for my daughter to try. Each one fit a bit differently. I hope my daughter will enjoy her new pointe shoes and find them comfortable. The shoes, plus inserts and ribbons all came to $143 approximately. Not cheap. Dance, like any sport, has related expenses.

When I asked the fellow who was waiting on us, he showed us tights, fitted her for slippers, and said she needed toe separators and toe pads. The tights ($11 each) had runs in the the first time she wore them. The toe separators weren't necessary for a first time dancer. The slippers were too small And the toe pads ($28) weren't necessary. My total bill was over $100. When I attempted to return the toe pads (unused and in original package) the owner refused, stating it was beyond their return policy deadline. There was absolutely NO consideration, in spite of the other problems stated above. I will never set foot in this shop. Because of their location, they probably cater to the rich, and $28 probably doesn't mean anything to them. BEWARE OF THEIR RETURN POLICY ... YOU WON'T WIN!
