I had my best friend with me who had already been through breast cancer and was there to help ask questions and offer moral support. The first thing he said was 'You have psoriatic arthritis' and still had not made eye contact with me. He mentioned my bmi multiple times and basically said I wasn't a good candidate for plastic surgery because healing was risky because of my size (18) 5'7". When it came to to do an exam, he handed me a gown that was extremely small. I'm a plus size and it would not even come close to covering my breasts. I asked for another gown and he said "we get what we get". No apology, nothing. It was humiliating. When he said the next thing to do would be photos, I declined and we left. Just based on Dr Mouchantat's horrific attitude and demeanor and the beside manner of a paper plate, I am warning women who are thinking of going to see him!! Think again. Don't leave in tears like I did. P.S. the exam room is straight out of the early 1970's. Horrible!

In late 2013, my dermatologist attempted to remove what we both suspected was a sebaceous cyst near…read moremy left eyebrow. During the surgical procedure she indicated that it was not a cyst and far too involved so she referred me to Dr. Popham. In January 2014, he attempted to remove the mass, claiming that he couldn't remove it all. When the biopsy came back from the lab, we met and he informed me that the results indicated that it was a very rare sarcoma (DFSP) and that if I wanted it removed completely, I would need to see a MOS surgeon. Since this may result in the loss of my left eye, left eyelid and or the removal of my sinuses he recommended having periodic MRI's to monitor the spread. From 2013 until 2017 I had biannual MRI's and fortunately the mass had not spread. I recently had cataract surgery and noticed a small lump directly below the DFSP surgical scar and was referred to an ENT specialist would ordered an MRI. I just received the results and there is no sign of metastasis. As it turns out, the Veterans Administration has confirmed that this sarcoma is directly related to exposure to Agent Orange during my tour of duty in Vietnam. I cannot find the words to express my satisfaction with Dr. Popham but will say I am over the moon with the results of his surgical expertise.
