Dabbles is the best!…read more The building is a cute house in Overton Square that was remodeled inside. There's plenty of parking and an accessible ramp in the front. Once you walk in, the waiting room and place is great inside. They have cool art on the walls and plenty to look at and talk about. They even had a stack of books for sale in the front by a local author/artist that were alphabet picture books of local Memphis spots. They embody supporting local. Their service is amazing. I've never spent a bunch of time waiting. Everyone there is super friendly. I tend to have some awkward silences when getting haircuts but everyone there is so kind and welcoming that's never been a problem. I've also gotten the best looking cuts of my life there and they've been consistent. I've seen a few stylists and they're all great. They're also super affordable for men's cuts. This place has transformed something I hate doing (getting a haircut) into something I look forward to. I can't recommend them enough.

Absolutely amazing experience! The first day I walked in after using Yelp to find salons near me,…read morethis location showed up and had good reviews and the pics were very nice.I walked in on a Wednesday and was greeted by a young lady and was told I do the pedicure today but was not sure about my nails because the nail tech was starting on hair, but she may get to me. I was fine with that because she was HONEST and made it clear that I may or may not get the nail service depending on how it was going with the hair. I sat down in my "throne" was offered a choice of beverages and left alone to soak and relax. Jayla, I met first, she soaked the gel polish off my toes, then Mrs. Wanda did the best pedicure I've had in a very long time. I didn't get my nails done, so I made an APPOINTMENT for Saturday, Mrs Wanda offered her apologies and offered for me to come the next day once I left work. I decided not to do that because I knew I wanted a pretty extensive nail service being that I already had acrylics on and needed a full set. With all that being said we set an apt for Satursay. I arrived and was greeted and offered a beverage of my choice (LOVE THAT PART). Mrs. Wanda started the process for my nails and the wonderful JAYLA gave my natural nails a wonderful make over. Instead of using extensions she was able to use my own and they look AMAZING. She was patient and I didn't feel like I was being rushed. Neither time did I feel like I was being rushed out and sprayed away(hurry up and dry) lol. Services offered range from manicures, pedicures, it is a hair salon, and offers specific hair care needs, all offered in a relaxing and CLEAN environment. She has music playing overhead and it so relaxing you just fade away lol. I highly suggest making an APPOINTMENT, you never know if they have a project or what their schedule like. This is NOT like those "other' salons we are used to visiting. Ms. Wanda take a great pride in making sure you are happy and will offer to correct a problem, unlike some places that post signs everywhere. Jayla and Mrs. Wanda are wonderful, I've told everyone I know about this place and I hope they are around for years to come I think I have found my happy place! I've already scheduled my next appointment.

I am conflicted writing this review because I really wish I could give them a higher rating. I came…read morein as a walk-in hoping that they could squeeze me in the middle of a beautiful Saturday afternoon for a regular manicure. I thought that they would be super busy given the reviews I read about this business and was really surprised that they only had one other customer.... Inside, the place is beautiful and clean. The tall, white, throne-like chairs seem to hint that you would be treated like "a queen." And the staff really do treat you like so. They were incredibly friendly and professional. The missing stars in this review are solely due to their poor nail work. From being too rough removing my cuticles, to leaving polish stains on my fingers, not filing/shaping my nails, to applying the polish patchy and clumpy...etc. Her technique was simply bad and very different from my previous experiences in other salons. Maybe this explained why they only had one other customer. The owner performed my manicure, so I don't know if they have other technicians that do a better job. I really do hope so because I think this place has great potential.
