I've been going to Mirror Mirror since it opened and I love it! There aren't a ton of blowout options in Memphis, but Mirror Mirror always gives me exactly what I'm wanting for a great price. 10/10 would recommend Kelsie as your stylist! She is so sweet and incredibly talented. My hair is super damaged from dying it for years but she treated it with so much care!

Great place! It is decorated so cute inside. I had a mimosa to accompany my blowout. I already have an appointment to go back later this month. I am clueless at styling my own hair, and they did a great job. All the stylist were in there had great personalities too.

    Great blow out

I am in Memphis for business and I found Mirror mirror salon for a blow out. I had a pretty good experience the first week; but I just left there today and I had Anna and had an outstanding blow out and service!! The whole place is cute and friendly but Anna gave me the best blow out I've had in a long time!! Check them out!

I'm typically hesitant to pull out my wallet at a salon. While looking good does make me feel like I can take on the world, I've had a difficult time finding a salon that made me feel welcome AND did an amazing job on my hair. Well this place is aptly named because I can't stop looking in the mirror at my hair. It's exactly what I wanted. To top it off, both the owner (Stacy) and my stylist (Laura) made me feel welcome the entire time with conversation, smiling faces, and mimosas!! I will be back.

Here is a picture of what came off my head within 2 hours of being at work. The salon may be good. Stylists talented. But the place has no integrity if something goes wrong. And thats very important for a business

If you are African American your blowout description is different on your email. My previous appointments just said "blow out."

African Americans have separate policies. This is my first yelp review but I had to provide one. I should preface my comments with the information that I moved from the Dallas area to Collierville about 2 months ago. I went to the Dry Bar in Dallas for about 3 years. Love it. The Dry Bar in Dallas treats and charges everyone the same. Today was my third visit to Mirror Mirror in one month. The first two visits were fine and I was charged the same price as everyone else -- $35. Today -- new story. I booked my appointment on Thursday to come to the salon on Saturday at 1:30pm. Today, I called at 1pm just to make sure everthing was running on schedule and they would not be running late. I get here and then it happened. The person at the desk says -- "Our prices have changed for natural relaxed ethnic hair. Instead of $35, it's going to be $60." I said that my hair is not natural that it is relaxed. She said well the prices have changed because it takes different products to do your type of hair and it's more expensive. I said well I can use the same products as a blond person. Please use the same products on me. Then she said, well it takes more time to do ethnic hair. But, regardless of ethnicity - it depends on the length, texture, curliness, and health of the hair. My hair takes the same amount of time as any one else and probably less than most. I said this doesn't make any sense. She said that it also takes more of the products. Even if it takes more of the products, it's not $25 more. She asked if I wanted to speak to the owner. I said yes. She goes to the back of salon and speaks to someone. I cannot see who she is speaking to. I do not know the owner. But she returns and says "I'm sorry. It's nothing I can do. The prices just changed. It's going to be $60." I asked again to speak to the owner. She says that the owner is busy with a client (as if I'm not a client) but she had already spoken to the owner. I tell her that there are so many things wrong with what she is saying including #1 my hair does not need different products #2 my hair takes the same amount of time as non-Black hair because it's relaxed #3 if the price was different, you should have told me when I called at the appointment time. #4 you should have told me when I called at 1pm. I just looked back at the email that I received to confirm the appointment. It states "Natural Relaxed Hair Blowout." As I mentioned, this was my third time here. The first two emails just say "blowout." They remembered that I was black and made a note on my new appointment email. Which means that I could have been told before I walked in the door about the new black woman policy. My stylist was very apologetic and nice. She admitted that the products are the same but sometimes it takes more time on natural hair. But, my hair is relaxed and straight as a bone. It takes less than an hour to do a blow out on my hair. My thing is consistency and professionalism. Today, these two things were lacking. If you are charging more for time, charge everyone more. My stylist is great and she said that she does sometimes charge $15 more for curls or for longer or thicker hair on a white woman. That's fine. But, upcharges should be consistent. To automatically charge every black woman $25 more does not make sense. And she said that for natural black hair, the new policy is $80. Also, I feel that the owner should have talked to me when she became aware of my concerns.

A review that's outside of my comfort zone due to its intimate setting but here we go!…read more My first visit at Sugaring NYC- Memphis was last summer of June but yesterday made my seventh visit. Prior to my first visit, I received conventional waxing services but not sugar waxing. I have heard of the term without the knowledge of the full benefits. That's until a Soror, who's the owner of the Memphis and soon to be Midtown location explained thoroughly. Which encouraged me to give it a try. In short term it's like comparing fruits and vegetables to organic verse none organic. Sugaring is applied to the body temperature minimizing discomfort, still treats discoloration, the clean up is effortless with water and eliminates the usage of tongue depressors. *That's if you're a zero waste savvy.*. Unlike conventional wax is composed of rubber resins and other potentially harmful chemicals. All of my six visits were serviced by Danielle, loved her! Unfortunately she's no longer working at the franchise in efforts of receiving her degree. Which I salute and applaud her because school isn't for the weak! My last two recent visits were serviced by Sarah. Professional, personable and comforting through her words of encouragement. I'm elaborating the word "comforting " because if you're a first time wax (conventional or sugaring) client it could be misleading as everyone's tolerance level towards pain varies. I can say the more consistence the better for the benefits of less pain, becoming more comfortable with the process including your waxer and the swift of hair removal. This location is always promoting special offers on the website or the chalkboard as you walk into the studio. Sugaring NYC's motto "Once you try Sugaring, you will never go back to waxing" is one of the truest statements I can vouch for.

To be clear, this is not a review of the service. I HIGHLY recommend Tiana at the Union Ave…read morelocation. She is the best. This is a review of the business, both corporate and Memphis franchise ownership. I signed up for S Pass and didn't use it as much as I thought I would, ending up with over $300 in credit for services. I asked the manager if it would be possible to pause membership and still use my credit before resuming. She told me that she could remove my payment method from the account, the membership would still be active, I could use my credit, and add a payment method back later on. Perfect. Except that not only did this suspend my membership, and so did not work the way it was explained to me, in the intervening month the entire program was discontinued. Corporate headquarters informed me that (though when signing up for the Pass there was no indication that I was entering a contract with anyone other than the corporate entity), they took no responsibility for this or the fact that there was NO NOTIFICATION of the termination of the program sent to members. They flatly refused any assistance and told me it was the Memphis franchisee's responsibility to resolve the issue. I called the manager again. She returned my call saying that I could at least begin paying the monthly fee again and not be out the over $300 that I had lost. I went into the store to do so and had booked a service as well. When I arrived, I was informed that I could not, in fact, do this. I was provided a free service that day (the manager, to be fair, was as helpful as I think she was able to be at this point), but am still out a fair amount of money. I hate that I cannot continue to visit Tiana for service - again, she is fantastic - but I cannot give business to an establishment that wouldn't even offer to split the difference on a gift card to keep a loyal customer.
