The windows were installed perfectly and I had a new capacitor installed on my Eco Drive. This Citizen has the complicated 8700 calibre movement. Not only was the watch repaired and set, which is no easy feat. Stekelbos also removed the hands on the small wheels and set them correctly as they had been misaligned. I had not even mentioned this to them. I will never take my watches anywhere else. Ever. Also, I was able to purchase an authentic Citizen band for an unbelievable price. We both have family diamonds, and have discussed for years that it would be a wonderful idea to combine them and create the perfect custom engagement ring that also symbolizes our families coming together... awwwwwww... so now the time has come... :) Our appointment was with Mr. James O. Poag himself, and he was absolutely brilliant. It's his family business. He made us feel comfortable instantly, and spent about an hour with us as we did the whole design decision. We never for a moment felt rushed or pressure in any way. He was a very good listener to what we wanted, and was informative, upfront, funny and creative. It was an absolutely perfect experience! They even let our small dog come in (in a purse) so she didn't have to wait in the car alone the whole time (we drove in from Toronto). Just love that. We received a rendering of the ring designs within 2-3 weeks of our appointment. SO COOL! I am sharing those renderings so you know more about the custom design process - I had no idea! It makes it all that more exciting! The shop itself is in Strathroy, a quaint little town in southwestern Ontario. It is seriously adorable, which adds to the romance of the occasion for sure! Its interior is clean, the fantastic staff are informed, attentive and clearly interested in their careers in jewellery. I love passion. One of the reasons we loved this place when first deciding on where to go was that they do fingerprint engraving jewellery (http://www.poags.com/dimples.cfm), though we didn't end up choosing rings that suited this technique. We'll be back to create more custom work though! A second reason is that they buy gold. We brought in some old jewellery box finds to sell (didn't seem like much) and turns out we stared with an $850+ credit! Yay for the current gold market (and yay again for Poag's)! No wonder there are so many gold buyer commercials! Third: My in-laws-to-be gave us a $500 gift certificate here after researching area custom designers/gemologists/jewellers. Thank you, Macphees! Now that we have signed off on the design for all three rings (engagement, 2 x wedding bands), I have stepped out of the equation. I do know the rings were ready six weeks after our appointment (that milestone has passed), but I don't know when/where/how the proposal will happen! FUN! Will of course update this review at the next step of the journey! :) To summarize: So far, so good with our custom ring designs using family diamonds + one we purchased there! I have been extremely impressed and absolutely satisfied with every aspect of this business throughout the process. It came very highly recommended, and now I wouldn't hesitate to join the chorus. What a mistake - he botched the job, placing the watch bracelet on a METAL anvil and using a pin and hammer to remove the links. His "work" left deep gouges in the side of the NEW bracelet and he had the audacity to charge me $8 for it. I have the pictures to prove it but cannot upload them here. The store fixes old grandfather clocks and he must be used to dealing with larger pieces. That's the only reason I could think of to explain why he serviced the watch like a rank amateur. Very very disappointed. Buyer beware
