Rebecca's facials are the most decadent experience that I've ever had with an esthetician. I've struggled with acne for about 15 years and she wanted to know every detail about my skin and what I use on it. I've never had any other dermatologist or esthetician ask that thorough of questions before a facial before. She then wraps you in soft, warm blankets and creates a serene space to truly be pampered. Just got an amazing massage and facial from here this past week. My skin has never looked this good. I'm always suspect of people selling their own products but the stuff I was given works so well I bought it right away. My skin is really dry and sensitive, I have eczema and have been diagnosed since I was a baby. But now it is feeling significantly smoother and looks more clear and less puffy. I've never been to a dermatologist or anything, so this was my first foray into facials. I was happy about the fact that it's all plant based and organic, because hearing words like "chemical peel" makes me want to run in the opposite direction. This review is for a facial. Becky is great! I have been to her multiple times, first when she was on Market St in San Francisco and also when she moved to her Oakland location. She helped my skin a lot and by following her suggestions on what to use on my skin it looks so much better. Overall the facial is very relaxing except for the extractions-I have a love/hate relationship with them :) I know she is getting everything out of my skin and I love knowing my skin really is clean and pure when I leave but man sometimes it does hurt! Paid is beauty though! I recommended her to my roommate who saw her a few times as well and has more problem skin than me. Becky has changed my life. I have been dealing with chronic hip pain for over a year and avoided massage therapists like the plague, since I didn't want them to go anywhere near my hip and possibly make it worse. So I went there for massage, beggining of which I liked, then... I fell asleep, unfornunately(( Anyway, I'd say massage was good. Not so long after that, I received some deals om my email for like 50% off some services. I was interested in facial. I went online to book one and got distracted by something. The next day, there was already no that very same facial that I liked, so I tried to call her to ask if it's still available or what happened... then, I sent a text, then email... and, guess what, no answer to any of those... customer service? This area itself is worth checking out for the array of quaint little solopreneur businesses sprouting inside (salons, facial care, massages, etc.) Becky is very down-to-earth and approachable, and I felt comfortable telling her my "demands" and "requests" without feeling any bit intimidated, which led to a fulfilling massage sessions. She was also very capable of fulfilling these said demands & requests. Her place is small and cozy, but did not feel stifling or claustrophic. Rebecca takes the time to talk to you and find out what your needs are. I've been twice and both times my massage has been very relaxing. The first visit I had hurt my back and had been in pain for days. After and hour I had my first moments of being pain free and it was amazing. I immediately rebooked. I saw Becky through a series of massage appointments then between scheduling conflicts, moving, travel and work I've only been able to pick up a massage here and there (usually while traveling). Maybe it's because she's had more practice, maybe because my skin is just getting better in general, but that last facial I had with her was AMAHZING. First off, I missed my first appointment because my brain said that it was 4:30 when it was really 4:00...so I showed up a half hour late and she couldn't take me anymore since she had another client at 5:00. BUT, she squeezed me in the very next day. And I told her I was nervous since my company holiday party was that night...but she made sure I wasn't red as a tomato, and afterward, my skin felt super smooth. She does a therapeutic massage arms and hands rolling over and through your back. She does it to the tune of the music. Becky has great prices there is no denying that. But she's not the nicest and I wouldn't recommend her because of that. For my first appointment, I was running late because of work and called her to say I was running 5-10 mins behind. I hailed a cab from work and got there as soon as I could. From the start, I felt that she almost held a grudge against me because of that. I could tell from the entire facial she wasn't super happy that I was late by her cold mannerism. Since I bought 2 groupon-type deals online, I still had one more to go. I scheduled another appointment with her through her online tool for maybe 3 weeks later. I then wanted to cancel the appointment and reschedule, and for some weird malfunction of the site (it showed me that I didn't even book the appointment to begin with!). I didn't think twice, but got a very angry call the day of the appointment (I thought it was already cancelled), with Becky clearly upset saying why I wasn't at my appointment. I apologized sincerely and explained the situation (we realized it was a malfunction of the site). I made a new appointment and saw her, and received a very cold, impersonal treatment. The facial was fine, but the company was not. All I'm saying is, I felt like this treatment was very unprofessional. I think Becky does a good facial and the price is great and I was willing to see her again, but after I felt like she was holding an angry grudge against me, there was no way I was going back. I also accidentally left my Tiffany's necklace in her office and emailed her to see it anyone picked it up. I knew deep down there was probably no hope of getting it back because I got the impression Becky wouldn't ever go out of her way to return it. Sure enough, I got an email saying she couldn't find it. If you're looking for a kind, professional, good experience, don't go here. If you're looking for a cheap facial from someone who can get it done and do a decent job, it's fine but don't expect amazing, kind service. read more

Seriously the best facials I've ever had, extractions like a pro, and great recommendations on how to treat your skin between visits. I changed my skincare line to Dermalogica (the brand she carries) and it's been great. She never even asked me once to buy the products from her. I actually asked her and she didn't even carry the specific products I wanted, so no sales pitching at all. Much appreciated.
